  1. Please feel free to add to this if i have left anything out. I have been looking through the forums and have noticed that alot of people are wanting to do this mod. I have put a small DIY together to try and help with the rewiring of the unit with a basic diagram. After removing the Xanavi screen, you will need to splice the some longer wires onto the triple cluster loom so to be able to enter the engine bay and connect the oil temp sensor and boost sensor as shown in the following attachment. (Note the boost and oil temp sensors cannot connect direct to ECU as these sensors are different) The second and easiest option is to use the factory loom Part Number: 24018-AA500. To do this you will need to remove the main cluster about 7 screws from memory. Now this should be as simple as plug and play to the factory loom. (Please note i have not verified this method as yet but as Nissan only make one Main Loom for the GTT the plug should be there) I hope the above helps someone and as last stated if something is wrong please correct me... I can also help with MFD conversion into R32, R33, R34 Skyline Turbo or non turbo. Easy to follow DIY to come.. Safe Driving Everyone.. 0o SKYLINE o0
  2. And i am pretty sure if you hit a pedestrian and kill them it would be manslaughter because it has no ADR approval, and in an accident you would void all insurance including public liability. Factory fitted carbon fiber items are 100% legal due to crash testing by Nissan. This includes Ztune standard bonnet. ps. Vspec II bonnet is hot why change to cheap ztune copy? everyone to there own i guess..
  3. APC Underwood... (Advanced Performance Center) http://www.apc-racing.com.au/services.asp Never had a problem with the work done here honest, reliable, good pricing. And as you can see the also built the fastest EVO in the world!! and a number of daily driven GTR's with top power.. Troy Adams car for example (from memory this was his daily before he sold it) http://www.apc-racing.com.au/showentry.asp?enid=15 ARE COOLING'S 180SX / 3RZ also some of you may have seen this at dyno days http://www.apc-racing.com.au/showentry.asp?enid=8 JIMMY CEMAL'S 10 SEC GSR STREET ALL WHEEL DRIVE http://www.apc-racing.com.au/showentry.asp?enid=49 APC'S NISSAN 300ZX TWIN TURBO http://www.apc-racing.com.au/showentry.asp?enid=78 (for sale i beleive) Oww and me: CES exhaust, K&N panel filter, GReddy profec b-spec II boost controller, GReddy Front Mounted Intercooler and tune == 214 rwkw and a bucket load of torque @ 11 PSI Just my 2 cents or maybe 4 cents lol Nick Zervos and the boys know what they are doing 100%..
  4. You may have a air lock in the system.... Just a thought does happen if they are not filled correctly... Try this: Start your engine, but leave the radiator cap off so the pressure doesn't build up. Let the engine run until it reaches its operating temperature. Turn on your heater and set the temperature control to hot. This will circulate the coolant and any air in the heater lines and core. Check the level of the coolant. You may find that the level has gone down some. How did that happen? The air trapped in the radiator kept the level artificially high; when this air was released, it opened up more space in the radiator, and allowed more antifreeze into the system. Add more water and antifreeze, in the same 50/50 ratio, to fill the space left by the bled-out air. As the air bleeds out, the coolant may bubble and spit from the opening on top of the radiator. Use caution--that coolant is hot. If this does not work check thermostat but i would say thats ur problem.
  5. Ok so first of all the two points on the ecu namley pinout 47 and 60 that you would be refering to are actually different and would not work for the mfd or any gages for that matter (Sort of the same as reason the oil pressure and the water temp has to come from the main cluster, becase the ecu points are different.) You would need to take it directly to the sensors. (pic attached) Anyone wanting to fit one of these is quite welcome to ask me any questions as i have done this about 2 years ago. (with the help of Purpleline HKS forums) I also helped Andru when he first wanted to do this so im sure i can help anyone else out who wants it.. This is the site with the original diy that everyone copies. Good pics. My mates here helped me when i did this so more then happy to help you out any time. http://www.hkskylineclub.com/new//forum_po...3160&KW=mfd Few important notes for anyone undertaking this job: Make sure the main power feed has a fuse, Always disconnect the battery fully before touching the ECU, Try not to use those cheap crimp fittings if you can help it but if ur soldering is not to good probley is a better way to go then trying to solder in a tight place, Make sure you run the wires for the exhaust and intake from behind the dash and just lay under carpet on passenger side until you want to do it( these are both positive feeds so you should tape the ends off) Good Luck hey..
  6. Cool should be in on that i hope. Look forward to it... Top stuff..

I am thinking R33Gangstar's sort of people should not be welcome in SAU... Bad influence on others who are as young and stupid enough to do these things.. Putting other peoples lives at risk on the street is just not good enough nor is it a sport.. Anyway the police do look on these forums so Gangstar will probley get caught out anyway or kill himself on the road or GOD forbid someone else... Just some links for thought... http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland...90723-dtr9.html http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5006301,00.html http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/street...9988559039.html http://www.caradvice.com.au/23621/deadly-s...-driver-jailed/ Anyway no one cares if you get hurt being a tool, but heaven forbid you do it to someone else...... Safe and enjoyable driving to all....

And here is the reason people think all Skyline drivers are lossers.. ^^^^^ Don't deserve a skyline or a licence.. ITS A ROAD NOT A RACE TRACK!! Enjoy ur car for what it is and, how it feels, the way it handles without breaking the law... Im sure most people will agree..
  10. This should help you mate. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...rticle.php?t=45 Not really worth it unless you already own the car.... Good luck hey
  11. Thats fair enough at first post i did't relize this was SA section because i just look at active topics.. But still i was only having a comment at people that complain when the have obvious defects and get caught.. Never said the system was fair.. Spot on SLED emisions is what they always check here any way there is no reason a car can't have big power and be legal u just have to get it passed. Im out.. P.s SLED VERY Nice bike and O,,, one hell of a car...
  12. Exhaust is 86db last time checked. Boost controller--- Never had a problem, they have seen it. It is used to run the car it is just adjustable thats the difference. You could run this of the ecu and then it would be no different to a stock. ECU and solenoid. Air filter is a standard item because it fits in the air box it is just a differnt brand. ECU is used to run the car does't stand out (hidden) how is it a problem. Again this is only Qld i know the rules for and yes if you get a shity cop he will defect you for not shaving. But if it is something you can have you just fight it. If not well just wear it don't complain thats the main point i guess..
  13. I knew some people would think i am an idiot and say i have no idea.. Well without bursting out i personal life I DO!!! I know laws are different state to state so i can't speak for all but if you keep you car looking in order then most times you will be right and yes you will get the odd studid ass cop but not all of them. And on the power subject just a quick run down at least correct for QLD. KNN Panel filter, Full exhaust, Good high flow cat, Twin Dump Pipe (CES), Good Electric Boost controler, Good Front Mount (Greedy or Real Hybrid) Haltech E11 V2 or Greedy Platinum, Highflowed Factory Turbo.. Tuned properly(important) and you will get 250kw/atw and the rest and thats not to mention the torque.. And all the above you may notice is legal, does't stand out and still peforms. By the way maybe my comment on 400Kw/W was pushing it but hey i don't know, if it don't look like you have riped all the polution gear off and its not loud, theres no externaly vented BOV. no unboxed pod filter most of the times you will be ok, well at least the people i have been stoped with have been. But then it is qld so i don't know about other states, but i don't belive this thread was just about SA. This is just my thoughts so every one to there own. And for the record i am all for a nurburgring in Australia but just can't see it...
  14. +1^^^ Goes for any sports cars.. I don't see the need to do it it illegaly i have nearly 230kw atw and its all legal/ i have been checked and i could easly push that to 400kw/atw and be legal. They bring it on themselves by making it to low (and when its to low it does't handle as good stupid mod for a sports/street car) front bars all cut up that look crap just so they can put a cheap ass huge intercooler in that is no better then a expensive smaller legal one... do you see where i am going with this.. Wrong is wrong even if every one is doing it, Right is right even if no one is doin it.... Things will always change mate but people have to want them to change. You can't choose your life but u do choose how you live it... + 1 ^^ I have done and will keep reporting people for being dickheads. And by the way burnouts are for idiots and to warm your tyers up for a drag, but any car can sit there and spin its wheels no point and bad for your car, But every one to there own but just keep it of the street it looks crap ll over nicce local streets... And the people that say i would't do it if there was a track.. BullS*#T... Yea you would because there is a track in every state and maybe its not cheap well drags are ints like $30 bucks for the night to drag. But its not cheap due to LIABILITY INSURANCE>!>!> Police don't pick on imports like people say i see more old holdens, fords, geminis you know pulled over then imports they don't pick on anyone anyway it is there job, and if you had a legal car then it would't be a problem anyway, you can't go into a shop and take a mars bar and not pay cause it is ILLEGAL, so why is it different to have, and you say it "ILLEGAL defects" and think its ok NOTE : KEY WORD ILLEGAL> Anyway just my 2 cents good on ya Mr Sniper911 im with ya 100%
  15. Have you got a multimeter? If so start your car and put it on the terminals of the battery It should read between say 13.8 to 14.4ish of the top of my head if it is around that it won't be your alternator.... Maybe a dead plate/ cell in the battery even though it is new... also check what volts the battery has before you start it... Most ECUs wont work properly with less then say 9 to 10 volts or big drop in amps.. Take it back to the place you bought it and get them to do a load test on it.. Hope that helps.

    Happy New Year!

Happy New Year All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hears to a safe and great 2009 hey....
  17. +1 for thats ^^^ Great view and one hell of a drive without even speeding i just love to appreciate the sound of my wastegate opening as i leave every corner, Try Binna Burra nice drive and you can have something to eat there and look straight down into the valey and int the Hinze dam then head down beechmont road towards nerang and head right down murwillumbah road to the natural bridge (make sure you do the short walk GREAT) then follow on till you cross into NSW and head back on the M1.. Great drive just have to watch the wildlife lol but great even in any car.. Or for something to get your oil temp up and heart racing (and thats without speeding to would you belive) try heeding into canungra and up tamborine Mountain Road.. Bit of a goat track and only one lane with stop lights in one bit but good fun then you could stop at one of the wineries enjoy the view and the head down the back of the mountain and pop out near Movie World or head down the back way.. Well just my 2 cents but well worth alook through the UBD or GPS.. Drive Safe All..
  18. I was not saying that u are not welcome on the forum but you said that rx7s are better then Skylines now my question is why bother looking around on a website mainly concerned with a car you think is not so good and then say it... Just a bit rude i think. And as you could find on other posts i have made i think everyone is welcome!!! My question was (Why Bother) thats something you do on a forum dedicated to your car make right, bag other car types. That was my point... I love my car and hate hoons like Luckieee.... and with a comment like that i personaly don't think they are welcome here. (hooning is dangerous and ILLEGAL) and what makes any car type and enthusiasts look bad. Call me an idiot for any of my posts or what i have said i don't care, but after working all week there is nothing i I love more the getting in my car and going for a drive to enjoy its sounds and performace and have a look through the country side and i am sick of the idiots destroying it for us. Sorry if u think i am the one with the problem.
  19. Just something to note.. GTR's are only awd when the rear wheels lose traction.... so they are rwd when driven normal or on the highway... at least until you give it some.. and if you pull a fuse or get a torque split controller kit u can turn ithe front wheels off... Anyway welcome Foxhound good to have ya...
  20. umm so why do you still post and look on this forum if you are not interested in Skylines Note: SKYLINESAUSTRALIA.com.au LOL I know everyone appreciates a car for what it is and how it makes you feel, i have driven a range of cars and for me the skylines/GTRs have always felt good.. STI (hate the sound of the motor can't mod without spending big money) RX7 (hate mowing the lawn, sound like a brush cutter...) Supra (great cars but they all look the same be it 2003 or 1993) Holden and Ford (great utes, good family cars but lose value something shocking) If we could make all the dickheads who want to do burnouts, street race and pretend to drift go away then we would all look better for it and maybe we could have crusies again without people thinking its one big race.. You find we could then all wave as much as we wanted. P.S. What other car that is still produced has been called iconic, every one wants a piece of the pie. Also went for a drive the other day and when i was coming home on the highway i passed another R34 in black as he took the exit he gave as a wave and we waved back.. I find that most of the R34 drivers give us a wave but thats about it, don't know if it is because its the same car and not 2 common around hear or just frendly people (except for the lady in the 4 door that lives in my estate.. lol B*#%H)
  21. Have you earthed the wire that is supposed to go to the hand break or connected it to the hand break.. A lot of these units require u to connect to the handbreak so u cant watch the sreen when driving or u can earth this wire and it will work either way.. don't know if that helps may need to see the wire digram or back of unit... Also note that it looks like the sony av spliter is on channel to but it does not seam to have anything pluged in... (Maybe just the pic.) Also being a Jap import system dvds will only work if they are NTSC 99% of Australian DVDs are PAL Hope this helps,

    Turbo Timer

A few things to note about turbo timers... 1. It is illegal to leave a car running when you are not with it. 2. They are helpfull because you can set the time you want and turn the key of and know you don't need to watch ur clock. 3. On the r34 u can get a plug and play harness for them 2 min install Last of all this is what nissan says in there R34 owners manual. (Word for word) After driving at high speed or on slopes it is advised to cool your engine down a little before turning off. 1. Normal driving - - - No Idle Time ----- Approx 80 km/h ------ Idel approx 20sec 2. High speed driving ----- Approx 100 km/h ------ Idel aprox 1 min 3 Hills, slopes at over 100km/h ----------- Idel Approx 2 min NOTE: this would Change depending on your car setup and mods. The above is from nissan on a stock car. lol funny enough joeyjoejoejunior we don't have that problem with the windows on the R34 because the windows still work until the drivers door is shut after the key is removed..
  23. It is a common problem because of the plastic cover over the motor.. this traps the heat in a bit more so the factory coils tend to die sooner... I would not leave it to long to replace them because if a coil is not working obviously that cylinder maybe getting no spark.. so may only have 5 or less cylinders getting spark.. or maybe only a weak spark. Splitfire coils may be expensive but they can increses power by giving a better spark and the can hold up to high power and engine heat better and if you use slitfires you should only ever need to do it once.. By the way midnite34 welcome look forward to seeing some pics of ur car.. R34 Pics Have a look here.
  24. That is the fault code for the Ignition system/Coil packs mate.... Get ur self a nice new set of Splitfire coils R34 GTT model number: SF-DIS-008 Hope that helps.. Anyone correct me if i am wrong but i don't think so..
