that sounds like a lot of work for little gain.

the stocker rims are just too skinny to waste tyre money.. even if you come across some 16x8s at an importer or something for $500.. you can always find cheap rims if you look hard enough. the other option is find some second hand semi slicks... there was some on here, 2 only, $100.. and there were some on light enkei rims for $500... or it may have been $500 for the tyres alone.. but they were like new. check for good tyre deals on ebay aswell.. at this stage its not worth spending a motza on tyres.. i just got some 17's and threw whatever tyres i had laying around on them, but they are all low profile, and stretched on... rears are different to each other and fronts arent anything special... but the handling and feedback through the car has improved alot, but grip has gone down.. ill get some decent tyres later.

skylines are a pain in the arse when it comes to grommets.

very nice... but i think the front wheels have too much dish. looks a bit odd.

r33 lca's its is then... i have bump steer because of the ball joint anyway. and my car is silly low.

my rims (the car pictured) are fitted within the standard guards, no arm mods yet, just coilovers... the car is pretty low, exhaust is 60mm off the ground.. the rears just tuck under with the stretched 235s and the fronts fit easy with stretched 215s, but they scrub on bumps. they are 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 or 10" im not sure as there are no stickers or marks.. i think an ssr mesh with the same dish would look sweet and fit awesome. for how long my tyres actually last... camber wear from normal driving isnt really an issue.

i hadnt planned for the govt grant... therefore i have no reason to keep it but it with mine and my g/fs it will help cover costs of buying a house... but honestly, id much rather it go to upgrading ridge st in merewether... anyone else who has stiff coilovers and has to drive down it will agree with me. after re-reading it i can see now that you were having a dig at roy... sorry mate, i just mistook your sarcasm for uppity bitchiness. so i do apologise for that.. as for my retirement, ive upped my super payments and usually put my tax return in there aswell.. that should take care of later on... im not worried about kids.. so what you will spend on your kids... i will spend on ... well ... my girl, my dog, my house, and most importantly, my car. back to the topic... are s14s really 10k?? i couldnt find a manual s13 with sr20det for under 10g before i bought the 32.. most of the s14s were 15k and up.. s15s 20k and up buy a ke70 for $400... strip it out, drop in a 4age, weld the diff up, some falcon springs, add a sports seat and wheel and some mad deep dish 14" ssr mesh rims and you'll be set. then you can buy a diesel lowlux for $2000 and you have a tow vehicle.

i know... arent internet forums great.. calm down champ, the way you came across in your first and 2nd post in here was that some "douche" is paying off your mortgage and some "douche" pays your rental insurance and you get out of it scot free.. my point is... what makes the housing prices go up in the first place?? your house has gone from $300000 to $400000 why?? has the block of land suddenly gotten better?? did a beach move in next door?? did it click over a year and become historic?? or is it because some other investor will come along and buy it to rent it out.. and then if they get competition, it will go up to $450000, and so on and so forth.. where as if there was no investment propertys, house prices would be normal and more people could afford to buy their own house.. and the world is in such a mess because people are working with debt.. you take out a loan to buy a house, then you take out another loan to buy an investment house, then someone else pays for it while you own it, but then the person paying for it loses their job etc, and so on and so forth and then you have to charge a shitload of rent to cover yourself which people cant afford then your stuck with a house you cant do anything with and a large mortgage.. and so on and so forth. and no.. im not interested in buying an investment property if i had the chance.. im happy cruising through life... im not in the slums, im right where i wanna be, im happy, i may buy a house and do it up and sell it later and buy another one to do up and upgrade and so on.. but not have any more than one and its not specifically to make money on.. i just like to do things up and then move on.

no... you can own as many cars as you want... but when you rent them out then its a problem.. it turns out, i can afford a loan and have been pre approved.. so therefore by the end of this week i should hopefully have made an offer on a house. i dont plan on living after retirement.. hence why im doing it all now.. im not counting on holidays then... which is why im doing it all now.. i wont be able to drive then and or the laws will be so messed up that we will all have electric cars.. so im doing it now. humans have no purpose, no reason to be here, so whats the point of lingering around when we can no longer have fun and our bodies become slow and fragile im not a complainer and im all for people becoming rich because of a smart business venture, going out on a limb, or land a great job etc, or are wise with their savings.. but when you take money off someone else for them to live in a house, when they could just buy it in the first place and then you get government help and tax cuts and kick back with your 2 cars and your 4 houses and some douche has paid for it all.. thats hardly working for what you've got.. thats just not right and i dont know how you could do that to someone.

the japs have been doing this for just aslong as our muscle cars have... heck they drive their 9 sec gtr's on the street, with street tyres... lets a see a muscle car do that.. lets see a muscle car do a 9 sec run first though.

and you dont have any dramas with bump steer as sydneykid said would happen?? $180 for second hand ones.. or $400 for brand new ones with new ball joints and pillowball mounts... hmm.

heres an idea... buy one house... live in it..., sell it, buy another one, live in it... die without being thought of as a stooge.. or follow the $ sign around and be a multi millionaire with this property and that property, whatever. money comes and money goes.. memories last forever.. or until your senile anyway, have fun and have stories to tell your mates in the old folks home... telling them how you bought this property when you were 18 and made a trazillion dollars off is a piss poor story and aint gonna mean much when your sitting there next to them.. we all end up in the same place, rich or poor. these people that drive around in their porsches and ferraris... are they really that much more happier than i am?? i get excited when a bargain part comes on ebay.... they freak out when the stock market crashes.. i have a 51cm tv and lost the remote... i can watch the same shows as you with your 132cm lcd... you dont have to live the high life to be happy.. and spending money on cars maybe not so smart in the overall scheme of things.. but we are all on this site, talking about mods and track days and power and handling.. you cant drive/race a house. they dont make skylines like they used to.. and how many people about to retire are kicking themselves because they sold their GTHO to buy a datsun station wagon for the family.

hey guys... my l/h ball joint is ratshit and causing steering woes.. im not too keen on replacing it with a used ball joint, whether it be in a control arm or by itself.. its a lot of work ie. pressing etc.. id rather pay extra, and get 2 brand new adjustable control arms... or second hand good control arms.. i dunno why, im just like that. so who makes them?? i know justjap has some for $499.. and i could get r33 ones but sydneykid has always shot them down as they muck with the angles too much. just wondering if anyone knows of some like project-d or someone make them.. i get lots of upper arms and rear arms... but not much in the way of lower front control arms. has anyone done the r33 arms and had it work as desired?? i cant find a listing for ball joints for the 32... or any import for that matter.. i imagine nissan are exy.. and for the price of 2 ball joints and control arm bushes... i could have a set of adjustable control arms. all help is appreciated. cheers Linton

bloody oath mate... i love cams.. if rove asked me what object could i fall in love with... it would be cams. nothing makes you smile like backing your car out of the garage with a phat set of cams lumping away.. and nothing scares off hsv's like a skyline that sounds like its missing 4 cylinders... that to me is worth the $1000 odd they cost. cheers Linton

i sold my previous rims which were 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 +35 to a guy with a ser 5 rx7 and they sat slightly outside the guards.. and the fronts slightly rubbed on the coilovers, just needed some adjusting but yeh, if they fit a ser5 rx7 sweet then they will fit a skyline sweet.. as for the brakes... no idea.

no oil temp... shes just a lowly gtst.. got oil pressure.. which is lower everyday because she needs a rebuild.. haha, but no temp. the rims are 17" Panasport G7's, fronts are 8.5" or 9" and rears are 9.5" or 10" offset is somewhere in the +20's i think.. they didnt have any stickers or marks on them and the rear was a rough measurement with the old 255 tyre on.. they came nowhere near fitting with 255s so dropped back to 235s and it just squeezes under the rear, ill flare them anyway though, its more of an estimation then a measurement.. either way, they sit exactly how i wanted them to and im stoked about it.. the fronts scrub the inner guards when turning left, so ill have to check that out.. bash something with a hammer. has stock suspension arms so no dialling of camber etc yet. cheers Linton

from what i know, ferrari doesnt exactly like people to trash their cars... thats why they arent on gran turismo, ferrari didnt want them being crashed on a game, so i can understand if they said no to top gear doing that... they wouldnt even lend them an enzo to go round the track, they had to get a privatly owned one.. still they shouldnt be flogging them off as ferraris.. and my mate who knows little of cars had a ball.. and for all he knows they were genuine ferraris and he saw them doing burnouts etc. so he was stoked. i dont have the heart to tell him that they were fake... you could probably convince him that a straight mr2 was a ferrari. at the end of the day... if your a car guru or atleast interested in cars enough to have some mechanical and general knowledge of cars... you'll know that you wont get anything out of going to see a top gear show.. its entertainment.. thats all.. its for the same kids that see an NA skyline with big wheels and get excited... but not knowing what the heck they are really looking at. cheers Linton

engine temps arent a drama anymore.. dont have oil temp gauge so dont know. just did it as a precaution.. its using a 76* thermostat, new radiator, new hoses, and redline water wetter.. just using a/c thermofan as the engine one shat itself, had some falcon thermos but were too heavy on the battery and didnt really change the temps. so they went. will probs just get a 17" thermo as engine fans are expensive as. cheers for the comments. id like more low... but the exhaust is 60mm off the ground as is.. im gonna see if i can get it lifted up, but doubt it.. it just scrubs over big bumps, but no dramas otherwise. tyres are 215/30 and 235/35. i dunno about the rear pods... i like it how it is.. you can see the muffler from the side. will take some "proper" photos when this friggin rain clears. cheers Linton

yeh but your one of them investment guys... so thats -1500 points. owning your own car is great, owning your own house is better.. owning 2 houses, denying someone else the chance to own it for their family and paying the price its really worth, and then making money on it and getting government help is like running Nos... disrespect its guys like you that force house prices up just because you've got the cash to pay $400000 for a house thats only worth $300000 because your just gonna rent it out and probably charge an unreasonable amount of rent for the property to cover your own debts. i cant afford to buy a house, loan or no loan.. so im gonna enjoy my car its going to mean more to me than any amount of money because it is something of value... just not a dollar value.
