woop woop! my new exhaust arrived today and damn does this system look nice. and nick, i had a look at the rear muffler and it actually doesnt shrink that much at all if any actually, ill get proper measurements later, hopefully ill fit it up this weekend.

shit really? he is that young and he beat me? he was too quick for me on the 5 hairpins i was getting too much understeer. i thought the gtr was unbeatable until this AE86 came along now i dont know what to believe.

i couldnt tell, there was writing on the side of his car but i cant read japanese also he went past me so fast i couldnt catch up and i own a gtr!, so he must be very good.

Mt Akina is the best, i love the last 5 hairpins on that run. watch out for a AE86 out there though he is really good on that road, usually he is out and about early in the morning.

ive looked into them alot, would have preferred a mines titanium exhaust but i really dont have that kind of money ill let you know how i go.

i wanted to go to this to help out but wasnt able to hopefully i can enter the next one instead though.

got the 06&R. it doesnt say it does, it says the piping is 80-90mm so thats 3-3.5 inches.

got it from justjap. edit: had to buy a new exhaust the stock one just feels like its restricting the engine alot.

shit, thats my bad i was talking about e46's and you guys were talking about e36's. sorry about that. And yes the SMG in the e36's isnt very good. it was greatly improved in the e46's which was the one i test drove. cant really say how the smg is in the e36's as i never test drove one so im only going by what ive been reading which is they are not very good at all. on another note is it true that the e36 m3's have the same gearbox as the r34 gtr or is it the e46 m3's that have the same as the r34 gtr?

agreed its the way it should be, my old r34 auto had tiptronic and to go up gears you push forward and it felt so wrong and not natural. The SMG boxes is a manual gearbox with a normal manual clutch and all that the only difference is that the clutch is engaged and disengaged by electronics and a hydraulic pump. here is a clip of the SMG box in action with the gear speed turned almost all the way up: and another using the launch control that these gearboxes have:

i looked at prices of mines front pipes, it made me cry thats very similar to my induction noise though and i dont have blocked off bov's, well i dont think i do, i thought my mechanics would of told me during its full service, i might have to ask them.

i was hoping sunbury would do it but they dont do imports so i had to call up to make an appointment and she said the closest ones were Broady or Seymour, so obviously i went Broady. you could rock up to Seymour with your car scraping the ground and your wheels poking out of the wheel arches and they will pass it no problem lol. the one annoying thing with vicroads was having to pay to make the appointment it was 35 bux or something like that, thats just gay in my opinion.

my gtr makes those flutter noises and it has stock bov's and stock intake setup, boost restrictor is removed if that makes a difference. on WOT it spikes to 1.13 if thats normal because i dont understand those gauge readings. this is very similar to what my induction noise is, wish my exhaust sounded like this though.

i was close at getting an e46 m3 but went with the r34 gtr instead after reading a few things and im very happy with my choice . but anyway what i wanted to say is that i did alot of research on m3's and with the smg box are you sure that they just didnt have the shift speed adjusted properly because there are a few different settings you can have and when set to the fastest these things change super fast. not very good if you put it in auto mode though. also found alot of little tricks you can do with the smg boxes aswell.

dont go to burwood then lol. i got mine registered at Broadmedows and she was great, she made sure all the numbers are correct and all the stickers are where they should be. filled out the forms and got my numberplates and rego sticker and i was done, all in just over 30 mins. and i still have the factory xenon's and a couple other things.
