  1. the best outcome would be that there are blanked up bolts on the block and maybe we missed them or looking at the wrong place, i dont c how this could be done The engine is a Series 2 1996, could there be a difference between Series 1 and 2 engines, maybe the series 1 had the blanked of bolts and the series 2 doesnt, just a thought
  2. Ok i thought i might start a new topic about the problem we were having in doing the turbo conversion on my NA R33. I have another topic relating to the conversion, but ppl might not read it as much and i wont get the same feedback. Basically when we tried to do the conversion we had a problem locating the Oil Feed line, so we can run the oil line to the turbo. We have been told that they are already on the engine block and they are blocked of with some sort of a bung/nut. We only found one of these bung/nuts and when we took it off it started leaking coolant. There was one hole in the block, that we thought was the Oil feed line but that didnt have any oil coming out of it and wasnt blocked off by a nut. Other people have said that you need to drill a new oil feed line into the block. Here are a few comments from people that i found when i was searching on this topic. They are from seperate people. 1. OK take the oil feed from the oil pressure location by fitting a T-piece, run the return into your sump (take it off to fit a return connection for a hose through the side wall) The water feed can come from your heater hoses system (ie feed and return for the heater core) 2. I am pretty sure all the stuff is already there. They are just blanked off with bolts instead of having the banjo fitting. The oil return is the large one on the exhaust side above the sump. Just get the right fitting and away you go. Then there should be a bolt to undo on the block just above that half way up. That's the oil feed. Basically i need the right answer, so many people with so many different answers. I think Unarmed_skyline has a better idea of what im talking about as he was the one doing the conversion for me. Please help me out and tell me exactly where to locate the oil feed line, or other solutions to the problem.
  3. hey mate, how much did you pay for it from ebay, i have seen them for sale on ebay before but now thers none up for sale. Im assuming its just a cover for a Pod filter right?
  4. just buy a GTR with the amount of money u have to spend to get the power u need. "I will for the begining that I don't have much money to spend and I also want a safe motor!" If you dont have enuff money to spend why u telling people no to tell you about prices. They are being realistic and have obviously gone down this path before. If you dont have 10-15k to spend on the car then why bother even thinking of doing it. To me it all sounds like a lil kid with a big dream, and then he wakes up with his pants wet.
  5. oh k kool, so 100% sure it is this? il have to let the seller know this as well, caus the wreckers told him it was R33 Turbo Auto Ecu.
  6. hey eug just took a few more pics before, the blue ecu is the proper one and the black one is the one i was given. Also have included some sort of serial numbers. hope that helps, ahh dodgy bastards
  7. hey, i purchased this from the for sale section. And was told it was an Turbo Auto R33 Series 2 Ecu. So when it got delivered and my mate was gona put it in my car we found out it was completely different to my one. Btw im doing a turbo conversion so i was taking the non turbo ecu and putting in a turbo ecu. Can anyone confirm what car it came from? I might have been jibbed, have contacted the seller and waiting for a reply, but in the mean time i need to know what the hell i have. The sticker says Nissan, but that could have just been stuck on. And note that the R33 ecus, where the loom plugs in is blue and this is black, and it doesnt have the screw in the middle. Pic below
  8. check your PM, im very dissapointed, the ECU you send me is not even frm a skyline. had to buy another ecu today from wreckers, i want my money back and il send you back your ecu,

hey mate, yeh done a fair bit of research, and the fact that a guy of the forums who done his conversion on his car is doing it for me for a couple hundred bucks made me do it. Yeh i can run about 10 psi max on it on high compression, but a guy has run 12 PSI doing the same conversion. The Na internals are basically the same as the turbo one, thers a few things that make it high comp, but will most likely reduce the compression once i get the conversion finished and see how the car feels. There is really no power limit, all you have to do is lower the compression. Im not out there looking at getting 300Rwkw so i should be fine. Anyways hopefully it should be finished dis weekend. Fingers crossed nuthing goes wrong, as theres alwayus something that f**ks up that extends the time. Laters
  10. R.I.P to the 4 that passed away in the accident. Dreadful thing that shouldnt take the lives of such young people. I dont think there is one solution to the problem of hoons and street racing. i think it must go to the heart and the mind of the young drivers. I personally think changing young drivers attitudes and the way they think about their cars and consequences is much better than just having P-Plate restrictions. If there is high-powered cars there is going to be street racing and accidents like these. P-plate restrictions do help in stoping young drivers from driving high powered vehicles, but some just dont care about the consequences. I think Education is the key. Educating young drivers on what could happen if you are driving at such and such speed, and that it doesnt take much for a car to loose control. Also having mandatory driving courses that P-plates must complete, i.e handling a car when it looses control will help change their perceptions and maybe not speed or do stupid stuff on the roads. I personally am a P-plater, and cant say that i havent ever sped, but i can say that looking at the accident site does make u think twice before doing anything stupid in a car. I hope that good things can come out of this dreadful accident, i personally think that Driver Education courses should be introduced in high schools and be tought at a young age and also having mandatory driving courses for learner drivers to complete before they get their P's

ok so im gona go against people opinions here... so im ready to cop some criticism. i was thinking about this exact scenario a month ago and have a thread in the NA section I have a non turbo r33 and now have decided to do the turbo conversion, being RB25DE+T. Its fairly cheap to do if you can do the work yourself or a mate. I got all my parts and a FMIC kit for like $1200. Work on the car should be started dis weekend and hopefully be all finished by next weekend. Will let you know if interested of the results and a dyno figure. i think if you already have mods on your car that ur gona loose too much money on it then keep your car. And also you know that ur engine hasnt been thrashed as much as a turbo engine. The only things that you need to change are brakes, you might want to upgrade to GTSt ones and maybe lower your compression. I know with my car, i would have to lower the compression once i get sick of High Comp, but High Comp is so much more fun. Anyways good luck with your decision, because selling and buying a car is definetly time consuming and you will never get the price you want.
  12. hey people, Just changed my brake pads today on my R33. And i purchased my pads from Autobahn and got Brakes Plus to fit them. Autobahn was a shit load cheaper than any other place, i paid $120 for all 4 pads. Anyways back to the dilemma, i also purchased the bendix DB1165CT pads and took them to the guy fitting them. We compared the old and new pads and the new ones were alot smaller. So we found out that the right pads were the DB 1308. We looked at the Bendix book and it had Db1165CT for non-turbo R33, i think they have the wrong information hence why alot of people have been given wrong pads. So for other people that are looking at changing their pads on their NA R33, the right part numbers are DB1144 and DB1308 I also suggest shopping around for pads, Repco qouted me $160 for front and rear, Brakes Plus $120 just for the DB1308, but Autobahn was the way to go, $120 for both front and rear, including refunding the DB 1165 to DB 1308 without questions.
  13. hey peepz, thanks for posting and asking questions. Im using a stock turbo and stock ecu. A price brake down for people that are interested: Turbo Exhaust manifold Fuel Pump Alloy cross-pipe with BOV All for $400 Dump-pipe & Front pipe- ? Not sure about the price getting them from unarmed_skyline Injectors $80Ecu-$150 ( maybe a bit pricey, but thats for a series 2 auto, so cant complain) Intercooler and piping (Ebay one) $340 Total price: $970 which includes delivery Gaskets- Havent bought these yet, will post price once i get them from Nissan A few more bits and pieces need to be bought and done, so im guessing the total price should be around the $1.5k with the help from Unarmed_skyline(Jarrod). Hame as for engine management, i was looking at the Greddy E-manage Blue or the E-manage Ultimate. Does anyone know if the Ultimate will work on an auto, i have been reading through alot of posts and havent found any info. What other engine management do people recomend? Adam im pretty much gona do what you done, do the exhaust etc, get a boost controller, engine management and then might change the fuel pump or injectots later on down the track if they start maxing out. 200Kw would be just awesome, id have to look into it before i decide to go for 12 psi though lol. Cheers guys, hopefully i didnt miss anyones questions
  14. hey people, firstly i currently work for Australia post as a Xmas casual at their mail centre in Victoria. Basically all the mail comes here first for all Metropolitan Melbourne and gets sorted. What i can say about them is that they are very strict about theft or fraud. So anything that goes into the mail centre leaves the mail centre. It is very clean for a warehouse and youd be surprised that their are over 100 cameras overlooking the warehouse incase something gets stolen or ppl read xmas cards lol yerp its that strict. Anyway i have posted items with Aus post before and have had items send to me by Aus post and couldnt be happier with their service. Never had things broken or stolen, maybe caus the stuff wasnt that big or fragile. cheers
  15. hey people, i feel like i have neglected you guys on updates on my car and what is happening. Well i decited to go the RB25DE + T option. I have basically paid for all the major parts, i.e turbo, ecu, injectors, fuel pump, and waiting for them to be delivered. Hopefully they will be delivered early next week. I picked up my Front Mount today, i purchased it from ebay, the intercooler itself is a Monza by Autotechnika, no idea what that brand that is lol. It seems like an el cheapo kit, but it dont mind it, it will do its job, its pretty much like every other kit on ebay. It is tube and fin, i was weighing up the pros and cons between bar and plate and tube and fin but decided to go tube and fin. I have a few other parts to get like the gaskets, oil etc. So hopefully they are taken care of early next week as well. Pretty much i should be able to get started on it next weekend or weekend after. I will keep you guys posted. Pics of the Intercooler kit
  16. hi mate i deposied money into your account on monday for the ECU, i pmed you that day but no reply. Please let me know if the payment has cleared and post asap. I need it by next week.
  17. mate wat is it with you bringing up old posts, you clearly cant read the date caus yuv done it to like 3 threads already... read the date before posting
  18. The rules do clearly state that a price must be posted, there is a price on there now, maybe he edited it. But why comment if your not a moderator, its mods job to keep a look out for these things. Let the guy sell his plates.
  19. lol mate the thread is 3 years old since 2004, excitement must take over before cheking the date :laughing-smiley-014:
  20. hey mate, Wat a shame about the project, and i would have got all the parts from you if i hadnt already purchased everything from other people. To anyone that is interested in doing the turbo conversion, i can say that Jarrod is spot on about the prices, im doing the exact conversion and parts all up is costing me like 1100-1300 and that is with a cheap ebay intercooler kit and standard fuel pump. He is offering a HKS intercooler and a Walbro fuel pump, plus other goodies and installation for 2k. That is bloody awesome, workshops would charge you arm and a leg to do the conversion and most are not even interested. Good luck with it mate, hopefully we get another NA + T on the Vic roads hehe and we go dyno them for power figures.
  21. hi mate, you posted in the wrong section lol try the wanted to buy section for your parts, you might get a better response, but welcome to SAU anyway
  22. Go Nuts!! Nos on a NA now thats something you dont see everyday... All the best Cara, hopefully you get us some power figures or a quarter-mile time, would be very interesting
  23. hi mate... send you a pm couple of days ago.. still no reply... anyways im interested in the turbo, exhaust manifold, injectors, fuel pump, cheers let me know on price... il take most of the stuff
  24. even though im fairly new to these forums.. I think Eug is definetly worthy of Mod Status.. +1 for Eug as Mod...
  25. lol first buy the car n then think about the mods mate... thers a thread that is just starting to get underway now... n it will tell you exactly what mods you can do to a NA Skyline.. another option is to go the DE+T if you buy a skyline... thats what im doing... read my thread might be something you will be interested in later on... peace
