whats the go with second hand splitfires... are they worth buying? any risks if they could be broken? im thinking of buying some second hand ones from here, and seller told me they have only ran on the car for an hour lol, think it was a show car thanks

spark plugs changed... no change in the car next thing compression test...

if the car was running very rich like 9:1 or 10:1 could this f**k up one or two of my sparkplugs.. and therefore caus the car to run so shyt.. caus i changed the sparkplugs and put it on a dyno... there was a leak in the cooler piping and it was running very rich... fixed that then the coilpacks were breaking down and didnt have a proper power run... just a thought... we shall find out tomorrow...

nah no compression test yet... i dont want to find out bad news lol... il check my spark plugs tomorrow to see if they are in good nick, but i just changed them like last week.. il see a few mechanics that are open for some ideas... maybe go to status if they are open

ok so in the last few days i have changed injectors with the whole rail for another set of second hand ones,,, and no change coilpacks with another set of second hand ones.. bought them from another member and told they were good nick... and still no change what are my other options... thanks

as the topic suggests, i need series 2 coil packs for an r33, to check if that's what causing the problems in my car, will only take a few hours max, let me know through pm, around s.e suburbs, i will pick them up thanks

Cheers Rob" dont know what they hi-flow them to, and not sure if u would have to both hi-flow them and clean them for them to work perfect,,

the injectors haven't been touched since the conversion, il try the injectors first, and then get more info on testing the fuel pump, all i can say is that i can hear the fuel pump priming nice n loud and got it installed at a reputable shop..

the pump is a bosch 023 from ebay, how do i pressure test the pump? thanks

so basically, take all plugs out, unplug the coil packs as they may spark, and unplug the injector loom, and i'm guessing i watch out for petrol in cylinder 1 and 3, and it would mean that injectors are f*ked, as they are leaking, will give this a go tomorrow, and then clean out the petrol with a rag, correct so far? thanks man

ye they all plugged in correctly, you cant really stuff the order up, its a no brainer as they only have so much wire running out of them, nah haven't washed the motor, pretty sure i have read that the only other thing it could be is injectors leaking or something, anyone know how to test injectors without taking them out,

ok so here it goes, car is series 2 r33 DE+T, with mods in my signature, took car for a dyno run to make sure afr's and ping was under control after getting a remap, didn't finish the dyno run as the coil packs were giving up and the car was breaking down... car ran good after that jst misfiring a bit underload, next day start the car and it sounded like a wrx, shuddering on idle, very lumpy, i have read about this problem occuring when the coil packs are gone, so i wanted to limit the problem to which coil it could be so i can get a second hand one till i get splitfires or JJR ones, i took the cover off and connected everything back together, started disconnecting coils to see if there is any change in the engine noise or exhaust note i did it to all 6, when i did it to coil 1 and 3 there was no change in engine noise or exhaust note, so i thought it could be these coil packs changed the coils around with another two, and did the same test and still the same thing on 1 and 3 so im asking, what could be the problem, is it an injector problem, how can i check which injector is faulty, could it be a coil lead problem? or is my engine F#$$D and btw just changed the spark plugs to BCPR7ES 0.8 gap, same day as dyno, could it be a spark plug issue, might take them out tomorrow and have a look, what should i look out for? compression test might be the last thing i do if nuthing else comes up, any other opinions, thanks

same problem with my car at the moment, but mine is even worse, sounds like a wrx, time for new coil packs, im guessing its running on 5 cylinders...

Toshi does good remaps from Sydney, his details are on the Business trader section, lots of happy customers, wouldn't be able to tell you about a turbo, but im sure everyone else is gona tell you to search, so SEARCH lol peace

that is cheap, is it the same as MV Auto's shift kit, caus they are $300 plus, or am i missing something here, very interested in doing this also

i bought my CarPc the other day, a second hand unit, its as follows VoomPC 2 Enclosure Jetway Motherboard with a VIA C7 2.0 Ghz Kingston 1 Gb ram Samsung 120 Gb hard drive, tiny 120w DC-DC Power supply, think its Pico DVD player Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit External Sound card, no clue how to install this yet Lilliput Gl-701 7" In Dash Touchscreen Monitor, with tv/radio i think i shall install it as soon as i sell my dvd/tv player combo on ebay would 8 gauge wire running from the battery to the carpc be sufficient with an inline fuse? pics will be up as soon as i install, also gona buy a BU-353 gps receiver and a Consult Cable

what they said, and buy a GTR lol, or another option is to do the DE+T, Run some E85 in it and a standalone computer with supporting mods, a standard turbo engine is pulling like 300rwkw on e85 without a rebuild.. and you have higher comp motor

what do you think of the IVA C7 2.o Ghz cpu, and the Lilliput screens? obviously you have chosen Xenarc caus it might be better? Why? and that MP3Car site is fantastic thanks

How about we have a written statement signed by both Link and Ray to clear up the confusion about Vipec/Link ecus, i'm sure that wont be so hard to organise. Since the statements that have been written on this thread are only by Ray through Dirt*, id like to hear Link have a say in this. And it would be good for them to tell us the differences, if any between the two ecus. Oh and another thing, why is there only one dealer for the Vipec ecu in most states? They would have to let more workshops sell these ecus. just pisses me off how the story has kept on changing since the start of this thread about the Vipec ecu, we want straight answers once and for all. We all agree that the Vipec/Link ecu are a great unit, but the information passed onto potential customers hasnt been great..

read this whole thread, and i won't buy the vipec if the same ecu could be bought from link for the same price, so what if you have to use an adaptor instead of a straight plug in, from the start the whole thing has been fishy about who made it and stuff, why cant they just tell the truth but decide to spin shit like all the politicians, i think there is definitely bias opinion about the vipec, i mean why not if you get a free ecu or commission, i would be saying its the best thing in da world and ofcourse "Link copied us" Dirtgarage, business is a business but id rather go to Trent at Status anyday than go to the other big name workshops, iv only spoken to the guy once and he cheked my timing, but im definetly going back for further modifications, he seems like a genuine guy who genuienly cars about your car, and who wants to talk to ya, rather than drop it in, pay n fk off, and by him doing favours or doing that extra bit for a customer will definetly be rewarding in the long run, so what if hes not a money hungry businessman like the rest peace

i am looking at a second hand package that has come up in another forum which i might buy, but if that falls through il definetly be interested in a group buy, the only thing that concerns me, is that if it comes from america it will cost more now and shipping... due to our weak currency... but if these can be sourced locally in aus, would be good, most people are lazy and would just want the whole package, MSY has good prices on normal computer parts, they might have parts for carpc as well, that might be a good start... say if we tell them to build a xx number of car pc's to a certain spec and then buy a x number of screens... just a thought...
