    Tyres

Thanks heaps for your replies everyone. Gonna spend a bit of time workin out the best plan. Thinking of some Falken FK452 225/35/18's ... or maybe some Goodyear EAGLE F1 GS-D3 in the same size.

    Tyres

it's the aspect ratio of the tyres.. depicts the height of the tyre wall as a % of the width. ie, your tyres you asked for were 112.5mm tall, the ones you got were 101.25mm
  8. 4 or 5 stops would work with that distance.. may i suggest the large carpark north of the Cott / OBH in Cottesloe as the first stop point? then we need a stop a Northern stop... perhaps Trigg?
  9. You could, but my intention is to keep the overall wheel size the same for performance reasons also.

    Tyres

Heyas. I'm currently looking for some tyres for my new wheels. After some decent 235x35x18. Tried my local Tyrepower, but the lady there told me i was making up tyre sizes, and went on to argue with me when i proved her wrong on multiple topics. So i won't be buying tyres off them... ever. I realise they aren't a common tyre size, but any propper sports tyre brand will make them. Anyway, i'm in the western suburbs, NOR.. Looking for somewhere that does decent tyres. Thought i'd find out where most of you go. Any suggestions appreciated. - Steve

  12. Hi All. I've recently been going through the process of researching tyre dimensions to try and keep my wheel radius consistant while i get new wheels. I'm going from 16x7" rims to 18x8.5" I thought I'd post up a little explaination of how it all works for anyone else wondering. Take my old tyre dimensions for example - 215x50x16 where: 215 is the tyre width (looking from the front or back of the car) and is measured in millimetres, 50 is the aspect ratio of the tyre as a percentage.. ie, the height of the tyre wall is 50% of the width in this case and 16 is the size rim it fits, measured in inches (the hole of the tyre) .. would have been so much easier if they just did it all in inches or millimetres..... so in order to keep the overall wheel radius the same, the following is the equation to follow: rim radius (half the rim size) + Width * Aspect ratio ie in my situation: currently : 8 inches (203 millimetres) + 215*0.50 = 310.5mm I knew i wanted 235s, so all that was left was to find the correct aspect ratio with 18" : 9 inches (229mm) + 235*0.40 = 327mm : 9 inches (229mm) + 235*0.35 = 311mm Thus the tyre size i'm installing is 235x35x18 - Steve ps. You may ask "why is this important?" ... well keeping the wheel size correct keeps your speedo accurate as well as your odometer. Also accelleration is noticably different with different wheel sizes (especially in less powerfull cars) I'm not 100% sure either, so if someone can correct me, please do
  13. friday would work since it is a public holiday so the majority of people would be free.. but hey, friday or saturday is fine with me.
  14. Actually it's the TV that causes the lag. Larger LCDs and Plasmas especially have quite severe lag (even in game mode). I've played it on xbox 360 and Wii, and i found that xbox was much better.. stereo, controller was better, graphics are nicer too.
  15. where are you located kkkk?
  16. My thoughts for good sunset pics would be a coastal cruise.. maybe start at the north mole at Freo, then head north along west coast highway to Cott / Scarborough / Hillaries / however far you wanna go, then maybe head inland (i've been wanting to drive through the tunnel with a bunch of other skylines ) .. my 2c.

Hey Ryan, if you want a full res copy of that photo, PM me your email address and i'll send it to you. That image has had the contrast boosted and a motion blur put on the background. I can send you either the edited or unedited version.

  20. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...hr-t191756.html Most of these shops are good for it. Just find one that's near where you live. Timing belt isn't too expensive. Had one break on my old car... that on the other hand was expensive.. car was never the same again.
