  1. Is it normal to have some oil coming through my air pipes after the turbo, and how much is normal? i don't think i have a lot coming through, but when i was changing my intercooler i had some dripping out of a disconnected pipe (like 5 or so drips) and one of the new cooler pipes which wasn't tightened properly for a lil while had oil come through the leak. could this be the source of my problem? is my turbo screwed? .. it appears to be working fine.. still get about 12 psi or so
  2. Update on my car's issues: Upgraded fuel pump to one from an R33 GTR - no change Replaced spark plugs - no change i don't regret doing either thing though because the better pump will be good for future tuning and the spark plugs really did need replacing.. one thing i learnt from the old spark plugs is that they look as if the engine has been running on the leaner end of the scale.. suggests towards a fuel issue rather than ignition.. Gonna check the fuel pressure regulator tomorrow to see if that's all working fine... if i can't find out i'll probably book it in at speedworks and get them to diagnose it.. either the engine is not getting enough fuel or it's not igniting while under boost. Pop pop. can't shake the feeling in my gut that it's coil packs though.
  3. I bought a 32 GTS-t with the GTR front bumper installed, but the lip spoiler of the bumper is missing. I know some companies (eg. Jun) make aftermarket lip spoilers.. Anyone know where to get one? Stock or aftermarket i really don't mind. Preferably in WA, but will ship interstate if needed.
  4. GTR will always be the faster drag car since it's 4wd. Rx7 would be most fun in the corners.. light and responsive. Supras have amazing torque with the vvt-i engine (432Nm stock i believe.. Skylines have just over 300Nm). Their drivetrain is one of the strongest around.. had i had more money probably would have bought one myself. so yeah.. depends what you want from a car.. my suggestion is to drive all 3 and choose the one which feels right to you.
  5. i heard that the reason they have started using wrx's and the likes is because ford and holden have such terrible car safety ratings. The police force is a huge customer for those companies, so it's putting pressure on them to get their shit together. only got my skyline a few months ago, but i'm rather paranoid about cops since the previous owner had an insanely loud exhaust fitted. Once again i'm sure most cops are cool about it, but it's the 20% assholes that you hear about who would yellow sticker my baby.
  6. My mods are only pod filter, 3" cat back exhaust and just installed an fmic... the popping / spitting / misfiring i described in my previous post seems to have begun since i installed the fmic.. don't know if they are related or whether the better air flow has just allowed something which wasn't working properly to have it's weakness exposed. have to admit this sounds most like my problem. Hoping it's not coz i don't have a spare $500 on me at the moment. Could the same issues be caused by something as simple as shitty spark plugs or plug leads? Do speedworks have a dyno? may need to put the car on the dyno to diagnose it since the problem only happens under load.
  7. Sorry to chime in on your thread, but i'm having a somewhat similar problem with my R32. My problem is as follows. After i've been driving conservatively for a while, if i plant it in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, the fast increase in rpm and boost causes my car the pop and spit like crazy at about 4000rpm and will continue to do so untill i stop accellerating / change gear. I'm not sure if it's a fuel or an ignition problem. I installed a fuel mixture display kit from Jaycar to see if it was not igniting (rich) or not getting fuel (lean), but the lights just get disco fever. Running stock fuel pump / injectors.. stock boost.. only thing i've changed recently was installing a fmic, so i'm thinking the increased air flow may be the cause of the issue.. but not sure. any feedback, suggestions or ideas would be grealy appreciated.

  10. Just bought this R32 gts-t about a month ago. Currently going through the stage of getting it all in working order before i begin modifications. As you can see below, the bottom of my front bumper is missing. The previous owner got the gtr bumper installed, but it seems he may have hit a curb or something and knocked the bottom of it off. I'm looking to either buy this component or a whole new bumper if necessary. ... and yeah, before anyone says anything, i do want to get new wheels, but that'll have to wait till the wallet recovers from the hit it's just taken. Also would like to buy a good boost gauge, 20 psi max reading is plenty. Style doesn't matter much, but black face preferred if there is a choice. All help appreciated, and any offers considered.
