  1. this was in january before the car came off the road and started being built into a serious race car. car: 33gtst mods: 3inch open pipe from turbo. 14 psi. Piggyback ecu. Fmic. Fuel pump. Short shift. Lock diff. Lightweight race rims. Suspension. Removal 150kg worth of factory crap and interiors etc Power: 220 kw what you broke: 3rd and 4th plus diff failure how you did it: at symons plains raceway. Short shift made mince meat of 3rd and 4th syncros so smashing it into those gears resuslted in them soon failing lol. And it wouldnt be a good day out if a crown wheel bolt didnt mysteriously come loose and exit the half inch cast steel housing like a bullet leaving a hole half the size of a closed fist in the housing and demolishing everything it came into contact with inside the closed unit.
  2. spotted. my car with no engine and gear box. spotted rb30DET being built. spotted adjustable rear arms spotted custom differential now off run in spotted my girlfriend offering to pay for my dome top pistons spotted useless weight adding parts in wheely bin lol
  3. i have a pair of 33 gtst rims with tires $100 and there yours
  4. not looking at switching to e85 just yet. would love to, dont get me wrong, but its not within the budget at this stage.
  5. point taken. i have done a lot of research and talking to people over past week including people who have rb30det with lower CR and i feel that staying close to the 9:1 ratio will suit my application. i guess time will soon tell. so you have played around with a few different exhaust manifolds to get the correct result?
  6. down here in hobart recently a flywheel came off an old holden and injured someone pretty badly but old holden engines had a habbit of loosing flywheels once high horse p.ower was run through them. Rb engines however are not built anything like an old 308. I do have a lot of trust in a standard flywheel for upto 400hp. And as its an rb30 bottom end being built it wont be revving as high as i had to rev the 25 bottom end. Excellent, if all flywheels are the same i will pull the flywheel off the back of the 25 tonight. Secondly, snozzle, do u run a chromoly flywheel? If so, what brand and what are they worth?
  7. any one lol? Need to start putting this baby together
  8. is the standard rb25 flywheel in my 33 gunna be fine to balance up on my rb30 crank and use in my 2530? im assuming that there wasnt any huge weight difference between rb25det flywheel and rb30e flywheel? i have the box out of my 33 already so access to flywheel is easy and my crank is sitting at my engine builders waiting for a flywheel so we can balance it. thanks james
  9. lol gearbox out... what a pain. would not wish that upon my enemies; as im very impatient i took to the stick with an angle grinder... now i can rip the fly wheel out so i can get it balanced up with my rb30 crank and balancer
  10. I imagined it would of been a dog of a thing down low with that CR
  11. had a play around with some figures today and the 10.6cc dome top arias and the 6cc dome top CP both seem that they will get me where i need to be. The 13cc dome top arias will obviously give me a fairly high comp ratio and in turn will hinder the amount of boost i can wind into it. Im planning on running about 17 psi through a gt3582 at this stage. The flat top pistons all seem to ofter a dramatically low CR and im not planning on throwing response out the window lol. On a seperate note, i began removal of gearbox from the 33 this arvo. Clutch slave off... Tail shaft bolts off... So i started to remove bolts from block to box and got stuck on that annoying little f**ker right up the top. Any tips or suggestions or am i pulling the head off tomorrow???? Lol
  12. Thanks guys. Especially titan. Extreamly helpful. Now know exactly what pistons will give me what comp ratios. As car is being built for circuit use, response is important, so a comp ratio of 9:1 would be excellent. Arias dome tops it is. 9.2 - 9.4 pending they in stock other wise dome top CP's
  13. using standad rods and standard crank but balanced.
  14. my 25/30 is starting to be built this weekend. only part ive havnt yet got lined up is pistons. have read through so many pages on the forum and cant find a simply straight up answer. i need a decent comp ratio... obviously above 8.3 or thereabouts. will CP flat top pistons to suit RB30 give me a decent ratio. need a straight answer asap. what piston have ppl used to get decent comp ratio?
  15. series 2 have... different clock. have a passenger airbag. have the igniter built into the ecu so it wont be at the back of the motor. have round fog lights/indicators in front bar not square. ran from 96 onwards had cloth seat fabric not the furry stuff lol
  16. any news toffy

  18. howd u go mate?
  19. hey toffy. the diff josh wants is actually for me. i dont get time to get on the pc much thats why joshy posted up. 250 sounds good. got money waiting so i can grab it soon hopefully?
  20. hey all. upon draining my diff oil this morning i found what i was expecting (handfull of teeth and shavings). shim locked diff was never gunna last long on the track but now that its finally failed its time to buy a 2way. just wanna know who you guys have brought 2way centre from on the forums? who can u recommend, need car going asap.. ( im missing hill climbs lol) cheers. james
  21. After a quick look it would seem your right. I couldnt find any gtt items either. Lol
  22. i dont imagine they would be much different to 33 gtst item. Have u checked with just jap. They supplied my jjr dump/front pipe for 33. Perhaps exhaust side of 34 turbo is different and exhaust route on 34 is different in which case the pipes may be quiet different.
  23. up for sale is a set of ROH Fury rims. 18x8 in size, have been painted black in colour! rims not in best condition but re spray would fix this! 114.3 x 5 stud patten. offset to suit r33 gtst (were on car when i bought it) $300 see pics below...
