R34 - Getting all 4 rear lights working as brake lights?
MJ replied to IanH's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah i'd also like to know why the compliancers would disconnect it? i cant think of any logical explination -
I'm sorry to hear that man, it least the damage wasnt too bad. I wish i could help you on where to take your car, but thankfully ive never had an accident. If you could talk to their insruance company and agree on a reputable smash repairer then you should be fine.

They have been way overrated due to the fast and furious movie
-
They are only so exxy becuase they are a cult car, you can buy regualr sprinters over here for like 4-6k but they arnt anything special without the 4agze and good suspension

FS Hybrid Intercooler kit for R32,33,34
MJ replied to Jet's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Jet you have a PM -
hehe, sorry NismoGirl It's always great to have female car nuts! I'm slowly teaching my girlfriend!

That figure doesnt suprise me!, They really get up and go! i raced a xr6t ute on sat night and it wasnt stock, he had mods similar to what you listed and he absolutely cained me hehe. They have the best of both worlds...a high capacity engine and turbo! They really have a lot of potential it will be interesting to see what their limits are. They just need to lose a bit of weight My uncle has a stock xr6t and i raced him one day, and he gave me a good run but i just had the edge on him due to my mods
-
Well im glad i didnt set my goal any higher then 200rwkw, it gets damn expensive after that!! Thanks for all your help strutto, you've been great! I've learnt so much off this forum already

20-30kw more power from losing 100kg's? i really dont think it would be that much? When i have 3 passengers in the car, lets say they weigh 70-80kgs each thats an extra 210-240kg in my car. It does feel more sluggish and the difference is noticable, but i dont think its big enough as what people are quoting. Unless your seriously into drag racing i wouldnt worry too much about weight reduction.

Yeah, i'm keen for getting people together for a group tune, it would be great to meet up with some guys from here as i have only recently bought my skyline and dont know anyone yet I know mine runs pretty rich too, i only ever run 10psi at night when i go for a cruise. I dont feel safe running 10psi all the time especially with the stock cooler and hot qld whether. when you say 5psi on your boost gauge are you refering to the stock guage? Its not measured in psi. I know the +7 on the gauge equals to be about 13.5psi. Stock boost should be 7psi I dont think youll need a fuel pump and pressure reg at this stage...but then again its always better to be safe....after i do the fmic and s-afcII then thats what im doing. Whats a SITC? sorry im not familiar with that acronym hehe With my goal of 200rwkw, i didnt take into account the auto box. I thought they were fairly strong? What can be done about making them stronger? I dont really want to convert to manual as it will cost like 2-3k and i feel the car will lose its quality when its done.

That looks very classy! very nice! I've been to autobahn and bought some plastic primer and sand paper. I've practised on a couple of scrap plastic pieces i've got lying around and the spray can paint didnt quite give the quality i was after. When i get some more free time im going to prime the centre console, air vents, and the power window peices then take it to my local panel shop and get them to do it in 2pac silver. I'll post pics when im done.

I hope mine arrives in the next week or two. Its my xmas present from my girlfriend, hehe shes so nice. I probably wont beable to get it tuned until sometime in january as Gavin is going on his christmas break soon and im pretty sure hes pretty booked out until then. Would be great to orgainse a group tune, if we can find more people i'd be more then happy to see and compare what gains are made. I'm also saving for a FMIC and i wanna get that fitted before i get the S-afcII tuned as it will save me money only getting it tuned once. My car is pretty much exactly the same as yours strutto. I also have an auto with minimal mods (i got pod, bleed to 10psi, and 3" exhaust). Becuase mine is auto is the reason im going for the s-afcII also because i dont have a great deal of money and im not chasing huge amounts of power. I have a goal of 200rwkw which i think will be enough for me. I'm hoping ill beable to reach those figures without having to buy a stand alone ECU.
-
Well depends if you are comparing them to GTR's or GTST's. What are you trying to ask though? you own a TT supra and you want opinions on how good skylines are? did u get cained by one or something hehe
-
Doh i must have missed that bit, yeah i gues your right....always better to pay a bit more for a quality job you can trust. I didnt realise it was a rotor workshop I need a better job! Ill give gavin a buzz once my s-afcII arrives and go from there
-
Thanks for that strutto, i shouldnt have any drama's setting it up, but if i do i guess thats what these forums are for hehe. I'm thinking of getting Gavin to tune mine too....but i suspect he will be pricy as he will have to use someone else's dyno. Whats the name of the workshop that Gavin uses's for the dyno? could be easiest just to goto straight to that place? Cheers, Matt P.S sorry for the hijack

Reverse EL for R33 GTST on eBay, worth it???
MJ replied to chubby's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
That looks way cool ! Where can i buy EL dials from? I have seen ones that change color from blue to another color they look real nice. I've never been to any rice shops to get this kind of thing done, i've always been a performance man hehe Matt -
While we are 1/2 on the topic here, i've got a S-AFCII in the mail coming over and i've read the wiring diagram on the apexi website, it doesnt seem hard to install and i think i could do it myself. What i wanna know is after i directly install it can i drive the car without it being tuned, like does it have a base map or still use the exisitng ecu's A/F ratio untill its tuned? If i do this it will save me $$$ on the install and ill leave the tuning for the experts Thanks Matt

FS Hybrid Intercooler kit for R32,33,34
MJ replied to Jet's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Jet, how many R33 kits do you have left? My money is all tied up at the moment cuz of xmas coming up now...but if u have any left in 3-4 weeks time I'll definately purchase one then Thanks mate -
Thanks for that info R33man! i dont have access to one of those proper spray guns and i dont think using a spray can will cut it....i can be a perfectionist to these things heh. I'll take it to a panel shop to get it sprayed properly, i dont think ill have to much drama with the other parts. Cheers, Matt

Thanks for that info mate been very helpful! I just need to know the name of the paint i need to buy, and where i can get it from. I assume i can get the primer from the same place? Does the primer get applied with a compressor gun? I dont wanna screw this up and have a crappy looking interior Thanks again Matt

You seem to look like a business from your sig.....besides the fact this is in the wrong section im sure you have to ask the admin's before you can advertise here

Hey guys, I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment and im looking to do some cheap DIY things to my R33. I wanna spray some interior bits and pieces silver. But i dont know what exact materials i need. I did a search and i gathered that i need to lightly sand the plastics, then prep the plastic with something? then spray lots of fine coats. Ok so hears my questions 1. what grade sandpaper do i need? 2. what is stuff called that you prep the plastic with? 3. what type of paint do i use to spray the plastic? 4. Will using spray cans be fine? 5. Where can i buy all of these products? Anything else i need to know would be great, i wanna get this right the first time so im trying to do some research here before i go out and spray them and find the paint chipping off in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Matt
