  1. i have been thinking about this too as mine is auto. I think it will cause alot of problems trying to get it working properly electronically speaking. I dont know if the 34 tiptronic box has its own ecu to the main one, but it would need something to tell it what to do. I think putting a r34 ecu in the 33 would cause problems too. I would like to hear if someone has had success doing this though
  2. it was 95 when they changed. He probably has a series 1.5 if he doesnt have the new style slimmer headlights and updated front bar, if he has that then its a series 2.

  4. i dont think its the nemesis + the tracking for that price. It could be just the tracking or maybe with the cheaper brant alarm, im not sure. On the brant website it just says watch this space. So i dont know a great deal of info, but the guy who installed my brant alarm a month or so ago told me about it briefly. They are still setting up the network and its not fully functional so i guess we will find out soon.
  5. actually brant are releasing a tracking model soon, i think going to be along the price of 1.5k for it. Good to see more tracking units out there as more competetion is better for the consumer. I'm not too fussed on a tracker as i dont live in sydney like you JimX but i dont park anywhere dodgy either
  6. If your looking at spending about 1k on a really good alarm i highly recommend the brant nemesis. It doesnt have a pager but it has 6 point immobilization and to start the car you need to input a code on the keypad. Very good quality alarms.
  7. junkie13 you get what you pay for. I've seen them cheap as around 15k but remember the car is 15 years old plus you dont know the history of the car. I would have about 5k or more spare cash to fix up anything that would be wrong with it. And if your unlucky and get a shagged rb26 thats big $$$$ Also the attesa system can be very exxy if that plays up too. Dont look for the cheapest one you can get.......id be inclined to get one on the higher priced side

  12. sorry rsx84 i should have noticed you had a r30 yeh id definately be getting the custom piping then, i dont think u can go wrong with 2.5" or 3" i guess whatever works out easiest to fit would be the best

  16. im not a very good driver and those damn GenIII v8 utes are so quick haha. I've only raced modded ones so i dont know how hard they are to beat stock. Dont race a xr6t either, well unless its stock. Big capacity engine + turbo makes a very quick car when modded. I really should invest in some pineapples

  19. It shouldnt be a problem. The s-afc will just maximise its gains, but im sure the fmic will be fine without it

  21. My knock in the knk set was about 50-60 when i first started the car then after driving it for a while it was upto about 70-90 odd. what do u mean a WOT blast? In the monitoring menu on acceleration mine sat on 0 for a little while then it started to read figures. But the whole time it was working when the car was idle. Im sure its setup right, perhaps the engine needs to be at operation temp before it gives figures? Who thought a knock sensor could be so confusing

  23. Hey strutto, Yeah i realised why the knock sensor didnt move off 0 when driving home. I read the other post where you said how to set it up and its all good now knock level tonight was at 10 when driving. But when i was at idle it goes upto 15-20, but i read somewhere that the idle knock isnt relevent?
  24. I just got mine installed today and i've just been for a drive and the knock goes upto about 10 which seems to be normal. But it takes quite a while for it to move though. I was driving a good 15mins before it moved off 0 on throttle. However when i was at idle the knock would always read a higher value of 15-20.
  25. It works off a T25 flange. R33 has a T3 flange. I wouldnt bother with this turbo as the manifold that would be needed to fit would be really exxy. It would work out cheaper to highflow your own turbo.
