  1. Danny, just spoke to my old man about the seatbelts and said this is the place he had hid seatbelts done. http://www.seatbeltsolutions.com.au/index.asp
  2. Hi Deren, SILLBEER is still travelling along. Not doing the daily commute in it anymore since I started working from home. But is getting used when I need to take the kids on the weekly respective extra curricular activities. Paint isn't holding up as well as I'd hoped though, the old purple paint underneath is causing problems. In hindsight I should have taken it right back to baremetal. Will be doing Powercruise here in late September so really looking forward to that...which reminds me I need to put my forms in.
  3. Danny My old man had the seat belts in his old 180B SSS replaced with inertia reels. They would have originally been a similar setup to the '10. They even matched the blue colour of them and are much nicer and period correct than the plastic Klippans. Will find out where he had them done if you're interested. Here's his beast: http://www.sillbeer.com/2009/02/dads-datsu...-new-shoes.html Cheers Brendan
  4. Yep, and take it from experience. Don't rush things, and be sure that when you're refinishing parts, the best results will come from the best preparation. There's quite a number of things I'd do a lot difference now in hindsight. Good luck on the project Bruno, if you take inspiration and guidance from what Deren's done you'll have a sure fire winner. Cheers Brendan
  5. Deren I can just about hear the excitement in your typing! My short block got back from the engineers this week, so I'll be looking to get mine back on the road soon too. Your effort on the build is phenomenal and final product something extremely unique and spectacular. Well done. Brendan
  6. Well done Deren. Good to hear you're still at it. Did you end up doing the ceramic coating on all the hot parts? I did that on my R32 build and the difference in underbonnet heat was astounding. Had turbine housings, heat shields, manifolds, dumps and front pipe all coated in black. Sillbeer is in recess at the moment - engine is getting a full rebuild, not that there was anything wrong with the actual build, just the parts we used originally. The head had to come off for a replacement, so it a chance to get it all buttoned up right. Looking forward to your next posting.
  7. Hey Adriel, never heard of a K-Frame...are you referring to the rear subframe maybe?
  8. Nice work mate, will you be doing the clutch plates in the transfer case while you're at it? Getting exciting I bet.
  9. Yeah, that lot cost about $40 to get done. Just asked for the shiny yellow cad plating and they did it. They being Zinc Coaters here in Perth.
  10. Deren That's what happened with mine. Well almost. I started mine, then I started watching Overhaulin and American Hot Rod on Foxtel...it's at that point that I started to go nuts on all the detail, including a new model designation, full dynamat and super clean finish on everything! If I had the chance again, the body would have been soda blasted first and started from scratch unlike how it was done. But hey, there's always the next project...which I'm currently looking into, along with a plan on how to go about asking the Financial Controller (my sweet wife . Cheers Brendan
  11. Thanks mate. Got Powercruise on this weekend. Looking forward to laying a bit of hurt down on her. Still working on a tune/mechanical problem...could be the head. We're going to try another one and see how that goes...long story.
  12. FTW = For The Win There's also FTMFW. You can figure that one out yourself.
  13. Have you considered buying from Yahoo Japan Auctions? I've previously purchased off of there via Slidewize Imports who provide a service whereby you specify the maximum bid on an item, and they provide a calculation on getting it to your door. They then bid on the item for you, have it shipped to their depot in Japan, repackage if required and ship to your door in Australia. I did this with a tail light cluster for a 200ZR Fairlady and that landed within 10 days at a cheaper rate than buying from Victoria. Also used them to buy an R34 GT-R drivers seat for my Silvia. http://www.slidewizeimports.com/ It mentions in that article that he uses S30 ZG Overfenders (possibly modified to suit), so based on that this search would certainly be of some assistance: http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search/...0Z&auccat=0 Hope that helps. Cheers Brendan
  14. Did anyone see this? Overfenders would certainly fix up any clearance issues. http://kultivate.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/...ine-2000-ex-gt/
  15. Just put up a post on an AHG Driver Training Centre motorkhana outing with SilviaWA including some pics, video and the washup. http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan PS> Heard the SAUWA/SilviaWA cruise went well, unfortunately I was Mr Mom for the day so wasn't able to make it.
  16. Hahaha, I sort of have that rule for SILLBEER, but when my 2yo son is screaming in the back on a drive, food is usually the only solution to help alleviate the aural onslaught. He loves the car though...but when he's tired, he gets cranky as do we all sometimes.
  17. Fan-bloody-tastic work Deren. Really starting to see the work done with the toothbrush and polish pay off.
  18. Hyperflow are an Australian distributor for Samco gear. http://www.hyperflow.com.au/samco.html Email them and see what kits are available. Cheers Brendan
  19. Deren Thought you would have gone the black samco hoses and black earls fittings to keep it looking factory'ish? Cheers Brendan
  20. I was lucky in that the casing had no guts so was easy to move around. I started with a degrease, and then had it acid dipped as well. Whether this helped or not I'm not sure. I gave it a good hit with the prepsol, then went at it with the VHT Nu-Cast Engine Enamel in Cast Aluminium (SP995) colour. I think I did 2-3 coats of that, making sure I'd masked up the relevant surfaces that needed protecting. Then I hit it with a couple of coats of VHT Brake, Caliper, Drum and Rotor Paint in Clear (SP730). I used the same process on the diff cover too. As you can see from these pics, it came it well with a nice smooth surface which has so far made it very easy to clean: http://www.sillbeer.com/images/driveline/b...fter-fitted.jpg (close up sort of) http://www.sillbeer.com/images/engine/s13-...ox-drveside.jpg In hind sight, I should have hit the top part of the sump as well to match the two colours up. Cheers Brendan
  21. The paint on my gearbox is holding up surprisingly well. Driving it everyday, rain or shine, so it is getting a decent workout. Then again, it's only been 6mths of driving. Cheers Brendan
  22. Yeah, they do love it. I occasionally drop them to school. Always make sure I ask whether they want to go in the Silvia or the old Sigma Turbo. Funnily enough, they never choose the almighty Siggy. Oh, and it seems it's your birthday, Happy Birthday.
  23. In that second pics he's obviously just seen the job you've done on the '26!
  24. Cheeky bastard. How come everytime I see you you're in a workshop looking to buy more parts...doh, that's not such a bad thing.
  25. OK, sorry for the long time between drinks, but have posted up three posts this arvo for you all to enjoy covering the new exhaust, undercarriage and fuel flap. http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan
