  1. Deren, without checking back through your posts, but did you end up painting those turbine housings? I like the finish on the heatshields too...looking mint. Cheers Brendan (the other anal retentive car nut)
  2. Have just entered SILLBEER into Zoo Weekly's Real Cars competition. If you feel like voting for my car, go ahead at the following link. http://realcars.zooweekly.com.au/ViewProfi...x?profileID=693 Cheers Brendan
  3. Unfortunately yes. Luckily the officer was a pretty nice bloke and was kind enough not to ping me for my non-standard number plate on the rear and my centre muffler being too low. I'll get those fixed this weekend so it won't need to be checked again. And thanks for the kind comments.
  4. Thanks Mark. Didn't really build it to be a show queen, but if it wins a couple, I certainly won't be sad about it. Cheers Brendan
  5. Alrighty then. Tune happened yesterday, so blog post is up. http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan
  6. Fair enough, you're going to paint them with exhaust black then aren't you? AREN'T YOU!
  7. Deren I thought you would have had all the hot parts ceramically coated? It made a huge difference to under bonnet temps on my old GT-R. From memory I had the turbine housings, exhaust manifolds, dumps, front pipes and exhaust manifold heat shields done. Gives them a nice black finish too. Cheers Brendan
  8. Thanks Yorik. The GT-R and Silvia are certainly very different. I miss parts of my GT-R too...although some are on Sillbeer
  9. Managed to pick up 'Best Engineered & Underbody' in the 'Late Model Performance' category at Motorvation #22 at the weekend. Considering this car show'ss mainly oriented to more Street Machines, Hot Rods and Muscle Cars, I was pretty happy that an import picked this one up. http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan
  10. Hahaha, Gav that bout of Dutton Rally really bit hard didn't it!
  11. Hahaha, yeah Matt I spotted you having a gander. Gav, what's up with the Datto?
  12. Hopefully you'll be able to see it move this time! And hear it!
  13. Blog updated with progress and photos from a recent photoshoot by Rick McDowell. http://www.sillbeer.com/
  14. Nah, not insane. I have a few different toothbrushes myself for different cleaning requirements.
  15. Hey Deren Progress looks good. I finally got mine registered and on the road a few weeks back. Got the run-in down, now it's in the tune process. Made a very laggy 312rhhp (hub dyno), but that should be remedied with some fettling of the cam gears. It's a good feeling to be actually driving it after working on it for so long...very satisfying. Well done on your work, it's indeed very OCD'ish. Cheers Brendan
  16. Just wacked a new post up on run-in/shake down progress: http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan
  17. Thanks Brad. Just put up some Desktops/Wallpapers for those who want them. http://www.sillbeer.com/2007/11/sillbeer-d...for-masses.html Cheers Brendan
  18. Cool, I might be up for...ah crap. Wife's birthday that day! Will hook up on the next cruise.
  19. On the road. Couple of new posts up: http://www.sillbeer.com/ Woot! Brendan
  20. Oh, cool. Hadn't really thought about how much I'd...any chance you can send me some pics to gauge condition. The pics I've seen around vary in their condition quite a bit. I assume it's the whole exhaust too? Cheers Brendan
  21. I've been wondering if someone in Australia already has one of these exhausts sitting on the shelf collecting dust? It's originally from a BNR34 GT-R, but I might be looking to just use the rear section. I love the exhaust outlet shape so much. Anyway, if anyone has one or has seen one, please advise. Cheers Brendan
  22. No wuckers mate. I was more surprised the many that putting the stock arms on would set the wheels up for almost perfect offset to the outside of the guards. But haveing said that, it means I can't lower it drastically without dialing a whole lot of camber in to tuck the top of the tyres under. Cheers Brendan
  23. Coming thick and fast, another update with pics of the car registered pre-wheel alignment: http://www.sillbeer.com/ Cheers Brendan
  24. Hi Adam In my defense, those pics were taken when I had a set of Ikeya Formula rear lower control arms in place and before I had a chance to get it aligned. I've since fitted the stock rear lca's and sold the Ikeya Formula ones (overkill for a daily), and the offsets are much closer to perfection. See the pics on the following post for proof: http://www.sillbeer.com/2007/10/sillbeer-r...ther-stuff.html Note that there's too much camber on the passenger side as it's yet to have an alignment (which will be happening tomorrow). Cheers Brendan
  25. Weekend and daily, yes. I ride to work on my pushy 50% of the time, so it works out as both. I'll be doing a bit of track work for sure, maybe enter the WA sprint champs out at AHG next year to give Mike Joss in his S13 a bit of support. And yeah, I've already been collared for a mag shoot here and there. Cheers Brendan
