  14. nearly every painter is gonna opt for "blending" adjacent panels when painting a car. While its not impossible to match a colour edge to edge perfect it does take a long time. I have spent up to 5 hours just tryin to match a colour. With spraypainting bein on such a tight profit margin it is alot easier and quicker to to mix the colour to say a 95% right colour match then flick the colour and clear over any adjacent panels. This may sound a lil dodgy to any1 not in the industry but this is actually the recommended method by the more reputable paint companies. mike
  15. I'm about to install a Black Widow alarm in my ceffy, i'm fairly competent in all things electrical my only query is the alarm has 2 immobiliser circuits. So i need to find wires for fuel relay, starter relay or anythin like that, that will immobilize the car. Does any1 have a wiring digram they could send me or tell me where i can find the required wires. cheers mike
  16. I require a stock RB20 airbox for my ceffy, i'm assumin a R32 box will fit so if any1 has 1. cheers mike
  17. them prices u have been quoted are pretty good. $350-450 is about the average price to get a bumper painted. Bein fiberglass it will cost a lil more cos there is always some sort of extra prep wor required (eg: pin holes, gel coat blisters or just marks left from the mould). A 400R bar has slightly bigger vents meanin tricky angles to spray at and is generally bigger than a standard bar so another reason costs more mike hmm i really should register my own username hahahaha
  18. because what alot of ppl dont realise is that automotive spray painting is expensive to b done properly. To get a whole side of a car resprayed in a mettalic colour-guard, door and 1/4 panel at any decent shop is gonna cost u $1500-$2000. One of the reasons i sold my silvia i used to have was cos i was so paranoid about summin happenin to it, bad driving history and bein young in an import ment no chance of insurance. So if anythin happened to it i would of been devestated. The paranoia got so bad i was no longer enjoyin the car cos i was that worried about summin happenin. mike
  19. awww congrats dude!! wow i remember you telling me you were gonna have a kid... only seemed weeks ago seriously! <_< hope mum is doing alright? so whens Chelsea getting her first Skyline?
  20. respray will cost u anythin between $1500-3k for a basic job. I'd advise u to spend a bit more and not go for the cheapest option cos after "2 aussie summers" u will have regreted goin for the cheaper option when ur painted is faded and starting to blister and u end up havin to spend the same amount or more again to rectify the paint defects. mike
  21. i might give this a try on the weekend and c how it responds. If that fails i got a BOV here i can hook up plumbed back that "should" quieten it down a bit.
  22. about 90% of the work i do at work in insurance work for RAC and i have started to notice lately there have been an increase in the number of cars comin in that have been key'd. I have had my old silvia key'd b4 and its fuct ppl have no respect for other ppls property. mike **on a side note tho i love key'd car jobs at work, nice and quick, easy to redo and we get given a good amount of hours for them.
  23. this is a picture of my ceffy with one of Koo's Wonder kits fitted. The fit isnt all that great but with a lil bit of cutting and fiberglassin i have managed to get it fitted to an ok standard. but for $650 i aint complainin.
