  1. I tried Nankangs once when I had my FTO. I thought they offered excellent value for money. I thought they'd be crap considering the price, but they weren't as bad as I thought. Korean made, so that keeps the price as low as it is...
  2. Hi all, I'm installing a reverse camera in my V35 manual coupe + displaying it thru my aftermarket head unit using it's reverse camera connectors so the screen turns on automatically whenever I put the car in reverse. I've got pretty much everything sorted, but the last thing I'm looking for is the reverse signal wire in the car so I can connect it to the BACK connection on my head unit (requires a 12V input) which auto switches my head unit to reverse camera mode. Looking at the wiring diagram for the coupe, is the reverse signal wire the red wire that runs from the "back up relay" into the "transmission control module/reverse lamp relay"? Any help appreciated!
  3. Hey Skizo, You might wanna have a look at these links + see if they're any good... http://www.mininova.org/tor/428465 <- FAST software 1.56Gb http://phatg20.net/index.php?option=com_re...elect&id=65 <- the FAST modules available as single download There's been some new modules uploaded at the PhatG20 site (second link) which are supposed to have the most recent models in it...
  4. From the owners manual re: the fuel filter - On gasoline engine models with the Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) System, the fuel filter or fuel lines should be serviced by an INFINITI retailer because the fuel lines are under high pressure even when the engine is off. Fuel filter replacement: See NOTE (4) -> (4) Maintenance-free item (In-tank type fuel filter).
  5. Hi guys, I've been looking at oil catch cans for improved breathing of the engine. A couple of things I'm not sure about though - would an NA engine, at extended full throttle, ever generate enough pressure in the crankcase to blow the dipstick out of it's holder + spew oil over the engine? would an NA engine benefit from one - including keeping sludge buildup out of the inlet manifold? are they legal? why wouldn't manufacturers include them if they help keep the internals clean... :-)
  6. I bought my car from a dealer + when he explained the security in the car he said he'd left the stock immobiliser in + added the proximity sensor immobiliser as well, giving me 2 different immobiliser setups... If I don't hit the 'unlock' button on my key remote, the car won't start. It'll keep turning over, but refuses to start. It self arms this as well. If I turn my engine off + don't lock the car, I still need to hit the unlock button to disable the security + start my car. And of course if the proximity sensor isn't next to the ignition, the car won't start.
  7. Hey Andy, That guide you linked to was brilliant! Thanks :-)
  8. Thanks for all the replies :-) I was reading the guide that Ant linked to + saw that it may be possible to access the trim plates to remove the screws holding the head unit in after removing the dash surround side panels (where the accessory plug is located). A possibility instead of ripping the whole dash out??
  9. Thanks Waz - I'll get onto that :-) Chris, I've got an aftermarket double DIN with a motorised face. The motorised face has stopped working so I have to rip the whole unit out + send it back for replacement :-(
  10. Hi everyone, I'm trying to remove my double DIN dash surround in order to get to the back of my head unit to check the connections. I've already removed the shifter surround + the 2 screws on the dash surround (located where the 2 surrounds meet), but that's as far as I got :-( I've been looking at I don't know how many sites tonight looking for the answer but haven't come up with a decent guide to doing it, + I don't want to force the surround + end up breaking it. I'm sure there's some other screws somewhere that I'm missing... Could somewhere guide me in the right direction in how to get the dash surround out, or if there's a way just to pull the head unit out that would be sweet! Thanks!! :-)
  11. Warren: Not sure on the seat covers yet - have to look around + see what complements the car + my tastes the best :-) Bobby: 10-15Kw...!? I can understand the skepticism. You'd definitely want proven dyno recs on that, + a dyno not in shoot-out mode either... Rianto: I found a surround from Japan if you're interested. AU$122. Found floor mats at the same site ranging from AU$236 - AU$665!! http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php...=2&small=13
  12. Thanks :-) Silver is definitely the easiest to keep clean too!
  13. 2003 silver coupe with the 18"s + brembos. Double DIN surround done in Japan - I'm replacing the Jap spec head unit with one that works in Aus but. Suede seats - didn't want the leather as I'm putting seat covers on Obviously no in-dash TV as I 've got the double DIN - didn't want the in-dash after reading the forums here + seeing the changes required to make it work correctly (didn't want the extra weight of the additional GPS + DVD units ;-) ) Just hangin on delivery next week!!!!!! Some pics :-)
  14. Even though it's not a turbo + massive gains aren't to be expected, I was remembering all that I've read about about a freer flowing engine (intake, extractors, exhaust) makes for a happy engine. Starting off with the filter, then working up to the other mods. But with the comparisons that you + Rianto mentioned, + from the stock setup I saw on the V35, then it looks like I don't have too much of a decision to make :-) Thanks.
  15. Sweet. That's what I was thinking :-) Good to have the comparison you had as well. I had a pod on my last ride ('95 FTO) + I believe it added response to that, but the stock airbox was fully enclosed + nothing like the V35. I'll have a look at the Nismo panel you mentioned :-) Thanks.
  16. Hi everyone, I take delivery of my new baby next week (2003 manual coupe) + am of course looking at future mods :-) I was thinking about the OEM air intake. With the current setup on the car, the airbox is already quite open (not fully enclosed like most airboxes) + cold air is being force fed directly into it. So I was thinking that replacing the stock filter with something like a freer flowing K&N panel filter would be enough, instead of the need for a full cold-air-intake replacement. Obviously there's a greater induction surface area (+ better sound!) with a pod filter, but then there's heat soak to worry about as well. And with the need to enclose the pod so cops don't defect it, we're back to an airbox style setup. So what are everyone's thoughts, + does anyone have any measured stats on the air intake setup? :-)
  17. Hi all, Just bought a 2003 V35 350GT (still being complied), + joined SAU :-) Got myself a silver coupe, manual, base model. Didn't want the in-dash TV cause I've read they need a bit done to get them working, plus I didn't want the extra weight in the car ;-) Previously had an FTO for 6 years - thought it was time to upgrade + I liked the look of the 350GT + there's still not too many seen on the streets. So HI to everyone + I look forward to talking with you guys + gals! A couple of pics of my new baby!
