  3. hey there, im looking to getting my r33 gtr engine forged, just the basic package, pistons, jun pump, cams, crank attention etc, running 2860-5, and usual upgrades..... what would the average person out there who has the similar package set there rev limit too? im sure my mechanic will set it too what he thinks, but just keen to here some numbers cheers

  5. hmmm, maybe i should just increase the boost to 20lbs, and see how they feel then, dont get me wrong its a sweet car to drive, but miss the ol' "chuck back into seat"
  6. hey all, so ive just had the full garrett treatment; 2860-5, 115mm FMIC+ pipping, LINK G4, 770 inj, profect b, hks twin, nismo pump, standard mint engine running 18 lbs, 7500RPM limit, 320AWKW...... i dont want to have to go through the whole forged rebuild yet, but will eventually, i am really only using this car for street, and am guessing if i start winding these buggers up to around the 380+awkw its going to put a strain on the rest of the car QUESTIONS i think i would like to trade down to the smaller -7's i miss the big kick of the smaller turbos, im not after massive power 1. so the -7's are maxed at around 330awkw, what kind of boost is needed for this figure? 2. are cams needed? 3. has anyone driven same car, but with the different turbos, is there quite a big difference? 4. am i stupid? i kinda was given wrong advice on turbo sizing 5. have tryed searching but it aint working cheers robbie

  8. hey just got my gtr back, just noticed it dosent have an oil catch can? its about 300AWKW etc etc, just did a search and looks like it should have one. i dont want the whole 'bling' effect, so any recomendations what is a good option thanks
  9. hey there i have all the usual bits, have 2530-5's making 320AWKW 18lbs, i think now these turbos are just starting to get up and rock at this boost level, it seems to be a bit of a waste to run them at 18lbs,i dont want to go over 18lbs 7200rpms, i think with these restrictions, i should have gone for -7s?
  10. hey all what boost pressure can a brand new stock BOV hold (RB 26) im running about 330RWKW, 18lbs, engine 170k's, my mechanic said my stock ones where not holding boost/pressure, and replaced it, but want to go back to stock cause of dirty ol' shuffle, but he said not too advice?
  11. hey, the reason why he changed BOV was because they couldnt hold on higher boost (18lbs) which i didnt think was that much boost to start leaking, is that maybe cause they had done 170k's?, would replacing them with brand new stock ones be able to hold the higher boost? what kind of power, or boost preasure can the stock ones hold? cheers for advice......

  13. hello anyone heard of some kind of device/restrictor you put on your manifold that supressors the shuffle noise, some kind of pipe with a box, appranetly honda v techs have it to dampen there inlet noise?

  16. hey thanks bumblebee, ive just got the car back, as i said to the mechanic leave it standard, im not a loud 'BOV, external wasegate, loud exhaust' kinda person, but this is the set up he gave me including all the custom polished inlet piping (which i admit looks amazing) ive just spent close to $23k, and i dont want to spend anymore, as long as the shuffle isnt wrecking the engine i can live with it, but i will go back to stock BOV im just a bit more concerned about engine light coming on when full boost hits, can anyone help me with this, as i said i have the new LINK G4, and my mechanic said not to worry bout the light because the LINK overrides this?????? im just a lil worried? would it be a dumb idea to instal a knock sensor? i live about 500k away from my mechanic so i cant get back to him for a while but he insists its ok?
  17. just reading in the 'search" seaction some peopls saying BOV's arent the main problem, maybe advance the timing?
  18. crap i wanted it all left stock aye, would going back to a stock new GTR BOV help shuffle a bit??????? i think it is onlr running one BOV too? does this sound right?

  20. hey, just got a HKS twinplate in my R33 GTR, real sweet, light clutch pedal, easy to use, never stalled once
  21. hey, i did tell him to leave stock BOV's, but he said they where leaking/not holding pressure? sorry dont no what BOV he put in but said they where holding pressure, piping no not stock, all custom made intake etc

  23. hey there, i had a power fc, now a LINK G4, my mechanic said the LINKG4 overrides the engine check light? but the turbo shuffle, shouldnt be shuffling when spooling up? correct? heeeeeeeellllllllllllllp
