  1. hey all, read the sticky on FMIC, very informitive, but need help, have about 380awkw gtr, with standard intercooler piping, looking to replace FMIC with a bigger one, but has to bolt in to standard piping, can anyone recommend a size/brand they have used that is good for low down power, maybe the dimensions too cheers robbie
  2. will lowering the car ride hight by 1 inch have a big affect on rear traction for drag racing? or his it mainly the firmness of the shocks? cheers

  4. hey there, yeah all parts brand new, except BOV (original one leaking), no engine work, well i guess once you start with turbos,injectors and pump installed, then things keep needing modifying, or upgrading, i dont think stopping half way through, and having a car not going was any use, i thought the bill was going to be about $13k, but obviously not!
  5. hey there all, can anyone help with some advice my way please, rb26,have had installed garrett 2860-5, nismo pump, injectors, hkjs twinplate,FMIC, BOV,rail, custom piping etc making around 380awkw, as much as i trust my mechanic the original cost has gone from $8k-$20k, this includes the new d jetro, because the RB25 AFMS couldnt keep up, does this sound right? any advice would be sweet, as this is gone well over my budget
  6. hello everyone, i am in need of a FMIC for my r33GTR, approx 380rwkw, my mechanic said i should upgrade, i would like to get one to bolt in, needing no modifications, is there one that does this? and if so any ideas on what to use? cheers
  7. hmmm so you think the early models are percentage based? i kinda dont get it sorry, so if you increase engine power, the transmission, transfercase, diffs take more power from the engine, wouldnt be a set figure they draw from the engine?

  10. hey there, can anyone tell me what the power loss through the driveline is on a R33GTR, is it a percentage of power from the flywheel, or a set horsepower amount eg. 500hp at the flywheel - 420 atw thanks robbie

  14. hey there, tryed this post in the 'classic skyline' last night but didnt get any replys, sorry to put in this section, but looking ay buying a r30 tonight,so need some quick advice,1985 coupe r30, what goes wrong with these cars, parts easy to source, L20ET and box problems? any help would be great....... cheers robbie
  15. hey there, im just looking at buying a 1985 r30 coupe, with the ol' 2lt 6 turbo, the car done about 200k, lil bit of rust but original, any advice would be great ie. what goes wrong with them/weak points etc, are parts hard to get?.....just looking at keeping her original, except some rims.......any knowledge you could pass on would be helpful to me cheers robbie

  17. hey there, 380rwkw r33, standard suspension, 18x255x30 toyo proxes tyres, i would like to keep my car standard looking, maybe just lower it 1 inch all round though, will this effect rear traction when drag racing? are 30 series tyres a bit low profile for drag racing? if so what profile would be better? should i get some standard 17x255 for the track? cheers robbie

  19. is there an aftermarket product for pod filters you can buy cold air box etc, or or they a bit of a custom made (r33 gtr no AFM's) cheers robbie
  20. yeah then will come an engine rebuild.....hopefully not a for a while though, still have good compresion, and high oil preassure, not going passed 7500rpm......good luck to everyone going down this path, and thanks to everyone who have given advice on this forum, and a big thankyou to all the guys who run the sau forum.......
  21. so i bought a r33 gtr, prob owned about 30 cars(ish) now, and thought i would have learnt my lesson now with modifying cars ,dont do it! i have the usual mods, exhaust, pod, apexi, cam gears etc, on the car when i bought it, but i wanted the interior/exterior standard (except the lm 400 wheels)....... then the clutch started to slip, hmmm while the car is getting a new clutch, thought 160ks on the clock, and boosting 1 bar, may just 'wip' of those turbos and maybe go N1s or rebulid old ones etc, run the car at bout 1.2 bar and leave it at that, everyone (with any brains! ) on this forum always say "choose a power figure, and what you want out of the car, and stick with that" excellent advice.... that i didnt listen too so the garrett 2860-5, oh bigger fuel pump, injectors....sweet, crap too much power, twin plate hks but may as well get a profect b, tomei dumps while the turbos are off, dam tomei dont fit, fabricate dumps, water, oil lines, oh and inlet, on dyno, oops fuel line leaking, fix that crap, afms maxing out, ZFM's back on dyno BOV leaking, crap new BOV back on dyno oh oh, some kinda problem with AFMs, remove and purchase D JETRO to avoid AFM problem shoot while im there may aswell get a bigger FMIC.....excellent im modifying cars again, dam i love it!!!!!!
