  4. Hippy: Bah auto, my car doesnt like foreign objects
  5. Hmm Daim, well i still think the problems in the loom. The reason why is if i take the ECU out of its mounting position, and place it at different angles, it works sometimes, like tonite, i was driving to town, at the petrol station i stopped at, i moved it into a different angle and it started to work for 10mins, then it went gay again. Also another really weird thing is if i press on the wiring loom at a certain postion about 2 cms from the center nut thing that holds it in, the engine dies. Like ill press it and instantaneously the engine will die just like turning it off. Steve: Thanks matey, yeh this is gettin really annoying. Its strange how this has happened, and im betting its something really small. I cant see it being the ECU but i still have to make sure of it. I dont know what else i can do.... Maybe i HAVE to take the car back to the auto elec
  6. Hey, well to my enjoyment, my car problems have come back. Just to recap, im getting an AFM problem. This is caused by either the ECU or the Loom connection. I got the ECU checked over today for any faulty circuits etc and it seems all the soldering is fine. This by all means doesnt mean that the ECU is fine thou, one of the chips could of burnt out or somethin. Anyway by being able to test another ECU, this will tell me if it is indeed my ECU which is faulty or the loom connection. Anyhelp greatly appreciated hint hint steve Thanks Dean
  7. hmm id be interested in this aswell, althou sfa3 is da bomb!

  17. ecu has a bad solder joint. so no hip checkin the connection wouldnt of found it.
  18. thats a pretty true, yet narrow minded comment. some people dont need all the functions that the autronic has to offer, and therefore go for other units like microtech and power fc which will do fine and save a few $$$
  19. Hahah ahh the problem Well the Loom conncecting to the ECU wasnt making good contact with the ECU pins for some reason. Anywho I modified the loom plug and it all seems good now. Althou since i fixed that, the power steering belt came off (fixed now) and the idle went nuts, idling at 2krpm (fixed now at 800rpm) so im hopin for a nice run without any problems.
  20. Steve: VIS means Vehicle Inspection Station, which basically means full roadworhty inspection, ie they check EVERYTHING. Hey mate did u go to the cruise? Sorry about my car...
  21. Want mine hehe nup! But u can go for a ride in mine. It might make u change your mind. The ride is quite, BuMpY Hehe:)
  22. Rob the bad thing is, is that if you do get pulled over, if a cop suspects anything, they can issue a defect, and all they need to do is put the 3 letters "VIS" on the defect notice and your screwed. Then all the effort of hiding boost gauges etc, goes to waste, cos regency will screw u badly. Its bs that it has come to this. I got defected for too low, but that meant i had to bring the car back to stock or else id get done again for my BOV exhaust etc etc. So i dont think there is a real way to avoid gettin defected. Just try be careful. Things like hidden gauges are probably unnecessary.
