Truly. For a system on a budget.. AMP: (Jaycar) Response 5 Channel Full Range amp ( has a dedicated sub channel ) Splits: Alpine Type R Splits Rear: Leave it stock if you want, but my ears have attention to detail so i'll be able to tell.. so i would go with some alpine 6's.. or something Headunit: Any head unit which has 2 RCA preouts or 3 would be a bonus, i'd go with the 3 RCA preouts. Deadening: I got quoted like 80 bucks for doors and 100 bucks for boot lid usuing Dynamat.. cheap. Gear: Amp wiring kit.. RCA's.. Get a mate to install it or something.. its not very hard to run all the wires, if your unsure about the headunit, then just get that installed before you run the wires. Amp wiring and all is easy as pie if you actually READ THE INSTRUCTIONS instead of handing over your hard earned cash to a bloke who reads instructions.. But as said before, you wont be able to get anything for the 1K price range.. For 1K .. A head unit, chatty sub chatty amp ( will blow in 4 months ).. and some low end 6's for the front.. got your basic doof doof. MRXTCZ

Im running Rockford Fosgate T162S Splits and Rockford Fosgate T162C Coaxials. Love them. Sound great at high volume, and are very easily tuned.. Im biased but i highly recommend these, i bought them off a eBay shop, and no they arent fakes lol. Alpines Type R gear are great! Goto that website, caraudiowarehouse.. they got alot of RF and Alpine gear. But i dont think they have a board on which you can hear the gear itself. But go out to Doran Pro Audio or someone and they will be able to let you listen to some of the gear in their rides.. but since your in Perth look for a local dealer MRXTCZ

Good set of 6.5's or Splits upfront. . and a set of 6x9's or 6.5 coaxials for the rear. Front - Vocals and Mid Range Rear - Can back the music up and give you the surround feel. But in order to get the best out of it, you will need to run one 4 channel amp. Thats my opinion, dont take it as gospel Recommended gear: 6.5 Rockford Fosgate T162C Splits Rockford Fosgate T162S Amp - Jaycar 4 Channel. Please dont get a Sony amp, or those cheap ass 10 million watts amps that are running about 20 rms.. MRXTCZ

Ive got a 3inch at the moment, and its true, if your hitting it hard on the motorway, then your gonna have to keep it on high revs ( within the speed limit ). And the noise it makes is alright, but will get very very very annoying if your driving home from the city after a good night out and you just want to sleep and all you can hear is that big ass exhaust. Trust me, unless your planning to do a turbo conversion, then go with the 2.5 .. sounds awesome and more evenly distributed power gains i guess. MRXTCZ

^LOL! Anyways, the ones ive seen around are shitty LED ones aswell... You wanna hit up the real deal, try Autojoy, they should be able to source some out for you.. Or you could get a lil over the top and go hit up streetglow, even they have the LED ones. To tell you the truth, the shitty cheap LED ones are the typical crappy light distribution type, Streetglow also have LED kits but theyre designed to have a straight line of light with no breaks in it.
