try to plug a ipod or something into the RCA instead of your radio as a source unit on your car ? does it still do it ? no or yes ? No , prob a rooted radio , or shorted wire on Radio to ground if one of the speaker wires is hitting ground the resistance skyrockets and the preamp cant deal with the load and distorts bad. try wiggling the radio around on low volume, does it do it still ? crackle ? spark ? Yes then the amp or signal RCA is stuffed , RCA pinched under seat bolts is common what brand of radio is it ? your not using a factory high power to RCA converter are you ?

Double DIN , sometimes you might need a little fiddling or filing to trim it right , or slot the screw holes on the cage that holds the radio but most bolt up without drama. or Single din with pocket below or ? just dont use long screws or bye bye radio when you plug it in. try to use the ones they give you or factory ones worse case. just use care!!!! or call a pro ?

that wont stop anyone, a tow truck fixes that problem in 30 seconds or less. dont freak out mate, just insure it for agreed value and be smart about it. I drive mine as a daily without issues even in the worse parts of town. I wont go into my methods of ensuring security for obvious reasons.lol you bought it to drive so drive the wheels off it..lol

Chad the photo at EXHP was photo enhanced to bring out the shine a bit. Megs Stuff works a treat either way. (or Mothers) never use a car wash brush, its loaded with sandy bits and filth.

yes but sometimes its best left to a pro for warranty sake and not to blow airbags or computers by wiring wrong. you would be surprised how many times I fixed up a ISO Plug gone wrong. and dont expect the SAT/NAV screen to work without some tinkering to put it up and down, and input a video source

visor screens ? can you ship to adelaide, photos please ? cheers -
Get a killer 3G /pager alarm and possibly a GPS tracker. and a clublock to slow them down for 2 seconds more. dont leave anything of value exposed on the seat or buy a shit box to drive to work. skylines are a big target for joy rides, parts etc. but its more about common sense , dont park in the dark, dont pound Bass into a car park, like the pied piper for thieves. dont brag up your car to coworkers(I had one steal my radio and quite work that same day) dont leave a ipod on the seat, etc remember a pro if they want it , its gone no matter what you do , your only hope is a multi layer security setup/deter BEFORE they break in.. or a big ass dog to sleep in it. I fear the dents and paint key jobs about as much as break ins.

try another RCA cable run outside the car to the amp ? check for grounded out RCA jacks, bent inputs ? double check the amp ground ? try another speaker, anything will work to see if the voice coil is bad on the SUB does the AMP have at least 12 volts going into the power connection ??? is the amp screwed down to tight on uneven surface and warping the chassis ??? if all the above looks fine, pull it to bench test it , might have a bad pre amp section in it or voltage is low on the transistor rails ??? these amps and better ones are cheap as on ebay and audio shops now, so do your homework before dropping a boat load of cash to fix it.

never run a car without the ground on the battery hooked up or remove the battery wires while the engine is running, it will fark up a lot of stuff by floating the ground path. FYI:the factory uses special NON-METALLIC spacers on alternators to stop the grounding out of the casing to the positive charging wires which blew the main harness fuse. the little red ones that kinda feel like paper ???

Nissan uses multiple ground paths for lights , look near the radiator /headlight you should see a ring terminal on a bolt. on each side, can be rusted or loose from years of abuse. also the switches fail often, similar issues on my R31 , pulled the switch apart (frosted plastic bit on the back of the switch )and the contacts needed small tweak/filing to contact again(poor man fix) or switch out the headlight switch fixes it 90% of the time if the grounds , relays are good

yeah it had a WRX "wanna be" scoop
