  1. Cool Dave, a very good idea indeed...
  2. Well done Dave, MUCH better pics than my lame efforts!
  3. They cut the front of the chassis off and replace it with a tube frame... said car ceases to be a "factory" car.
  4. Tube front ends are not f*ckin included...
  5. Try http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/...
  6. Sorry Rianto but I lost you right after you said "but"...
  7. I had a Mitsubshi Pajero Exeed... a piece of sh*t really, but it drove well and I only bought it so I could send it to Australia anyways (for quick $$$). Am in the process of negotiating a V35 Skyline Coupe 350GT Premium company car... Rest assured SAU will be the first to know when I get it.
  8. Dave is cosistently extolling the virtues of country living... I'm almost hooked on the idea.
  9. Hahaha... they wish!
  10. Which one was that? The only one I remember was the Orange 6-wheeler Carolla wagon converted to a Ute...

    To people in Japan...

Mmm, that said, I think Kobe has a certain "feel" about it thats quite unique in Japan. It's long history as a foreign trading post gives it a more cosmopolitan feel than other big Japanese cities, and the close proximity of Kyoto (historic city) and Osaka (f*ckin big-ass city). But as far as archiecture/layout goes... zenbu issho!
  12. Heheh, Holden in Japan... a salaryman buying one of those Commodore here would be a freak purchase at best.
  13. Trust front lip and sideskirts... (top pic) Nothing special... P.S. Ok, it's not the exact same front lip, but it's pretty close.
  14. Well done Duncan, top post. ... "Gunboat diplomacy" indeed...
  15. Well, it wasn't a "who can get the 4 hottest girls to come on an overseas trip with one single guy" competition, but here goes anyway:Masami (33), Kazumi (31), Chieko (24) and Rie (22). F*ck their ages, I had a good time.

  20. You're English Dave, you should know that!
  21. HAHAHAHA! Gold! Alright now lads, I hope this doesn't get out of hand... just remember DCD, Australians "take the piss" all the time... it's hereditary... and all in good humour (most of the time!)

    AE86 - cant find any!

Yeah, the Australian 4A-C version called a Toyota "Sprinter" (Rear wheel drive too, topi)... which it's name was at odds with the Japanese models because the j-spec "Sprinter Trueno" had the pop-up lights, whereas the "Carolla Levin" was the one that had the regular headlights... just like the Aussie version. So theoretically, the Aussie version is closest to the AE85 Carolla Levin SR, but with a wheezy 4A-C instead of the almost-as-bad Japanese ver. 3A-U.

    AE86 - cant find any!

Are you talking about RHD AE86s, or RHD cars in general? Australia drives on the left... just like England
  24. With Shaken, car get checked (as Troy said) for roadworthyness. My father-in-law said he got defected for a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g... windscreen wiper blades, rubber door surrounds, fuel filler caps etc. A typical inspection on a "not very well" kept car could set the owner back 2-300,000 yen in repairs. This is one of the reasons why you get such cheap used cars in Japan, the owners run the shaken out with a modified and abused car, then sell it just before Shaken is up... at a fraction of the price they bought it for, all because returning it back to standard and/or going through Shaken will cost big bucks. The other big cost in Japan with owning a car is... parking (if you don't live in a house - Dave you lucky bugger! )
  25. DOH!!!Jason I totally got tied up with hospital visits, Doctors appointments, you name it. Sorry mate!
