  1. Theres 2 stages of Mines complete RB26DETT engines you can choose from: Stage 1 with R34 GT-R N1 turbos: $15,375 Stage 2 with GT2530 turbos: $21,288 Seriously, dropping that kind of money on Mines and they'll sort out the shipping for you, it's up to you to negotiate a cheap rate... but you're getting reamed for the engine so what's an extra $1000 or two for shipping. Edit: just saw sewid's post, so if you want to get someone else to organise it for you then discard what I posted.
  2. Your cars looking a little different now too Stephen (in your avatar)... what've you done to it?
  3. lol now I get it...
  4. Is there another previously translated diagram floating around here? I wish I knew that beforehand... anyways PranKs happy so meh

    My Cars 90% Done

Certainly These were taken the day after I bought it off Yahoo auctions for AU$700: Complete with rusty old Enkei 16x7/16x8s. The car was DEAD STRAIGHT and never been crashed... had 140,000km's on it. Now has 143,000km's CA18DE went worse than it looked, I can only imagine how dreadful a 4AT would be. Alpine tape player (even with remote 6CD stacker) has no place in modern Japan. Note freebie SuperAB 'uchiwa' (fan) on passenger seat which one of my brothers freinds offered me $10 for... yes I sold it!

Yep, I'll be there for the foreseeable future. Quite a few people in the Japanese community here think I'm crazy for going back, but at the same time I've had a few guys like my friend Yasuhiro who secretly wants to head back too despite his wife (Japanese) wanting to stay in AU. I think you've got to take the good with the bad anywhere you go, so it all depends on what you do with your time here/there.
  8. I love you too man! Seriously though, I'm always willing to help out with SAU

Yep heading back The actual reason for going back is a secret, but I have sorted out the problem for me leaving in the first place so I can start from where I left off. I'll probably head back to Osaka in the beginning, but where we actually decide to stay is still up in the air. Eastern Tokyo is a possibility, aswell as F-u-k-uoka (anti-SAU swear filter spelling) but location doesn't bother me so much, more what the missus is comfortable with. 7Tune is back after 1 year hiatus, and I'll be looking to do something different, more unique as far as content goes and well... you'll see. Also looking to start my own school, crazy but true through word of mouth I already have 3 students waiting (!) to join!?? <-- that just freaks me out as I'm not even in Japan... these are ex-students though so I can't argue with their loyalty. Theres more but don't want to divulge too much at this stage.

Shan: I momentarily thought about the Ranebo IX wagon, but it's just got that 'family man in denial' thing about it. But we'll see... I might even go for a Gallery Complete Car emsta: Just a set of Black reclinable seats (maybe Sparco) and a GT253 and remapped ECU with 12psi. But times run out for me so if my brother wants to do that it's up to him.

Well... it's been quite a while, but heres the 90% finished car: Chargespeed carbon boot lid... I got the D-Max carbon bonnet, but it won't close with the RB20DET in there!!! What a waste of time and money. Those D-Max bonnets are so tough... Racing Hart CP-S10 18x9 +21 (front), 18x10 +27 (rear) S14 Silvia (JDM) 4 pot brakes and calipers never looked so small... East Bear aero mirrors Had bigger plans for the engine, but as the car is a daily driver (well if going to the shops and back once a week is classed as 'daily') it doesn't need 300kw at the treads... but this *was* a 1988 Silvia Q's so the weight is around 1080kg so she goes fast enough What colour goes with poo brown??? Aaaaah.... black Some tiger pattern tint on the quarter windows. As I'm going back to Japan in November, this car will be left to my brother to decide what to do with it. So thats all for the mods as far as I'm concerned... next stop... Mitsubishi Evolution VII???
  12. No worries Can you make heads or tails of this:
  13. Nothing in that article I translated mentioned direct injection which went into a bit of detail regarding the new features, so I guess the HR engines don't have it... although the previous VQ25DD and 30DD engines did.
  14. *walks by doorway whistling then pops head in Hey Christian! I hear you need some translation done! Alright, when looking at the back of the 'ETS':
  15. It's been a long time since I've posted new items, and if it's a repost, well it probably won't be the last time... New VQ engines for upcoming Skylines. The current VQ series engines have been reviewed and updated in time for the upcoming launch this northern Autumn. The names 'VQ35HR' and 'VQ25HR' mean High Revolution/High Response due to the refined and revable nature of the new engines. A max rev ceiling of 7,500rpm for the HR series engines should put to rest the complaints some had about the previous generation VQ, aswell as greater power and a sweeter engine note. With the new engine development, it started with the update of each main part based on the current VQ. 80% of the engine has been changed, and the remaining 20% are parts not related to engine performance such as the bolt/nuts and seals etc. The V6 configuration is the same as is the bore and stroke, hence keeping the 'VQ' designation. Power wasn't the only thing that was pursued but also the sound, Nissan wanted a pleasant acceleration soundtrack to compliment the superior refinement offered by the V6. Alot of testing was done to eliminate unwanted noise while efforts were made to improve the 'sports note' of the engine by means of exhaust optimization of the twin mufflers, the tuned length exhaust manifolds and also the exhaust catalysts etc. As for the engine induction, a symmetric twin throttle body induction system and straight suction ports are adopted to obtain class-leading maximum power, and intake resistance has been decreased by 18%. In addition, CVTC (Continuously Variable valve Timing Control) is installed controlling the camshafts, the setting of the valve timing with a high degree of adjustability is possible, and the combustion efficiency of the whole intake system has been improved from low in the rev range to high. On the exhaust side is an electromagnetic type CVTC, and on the induction side is an oil pressure type. The overall improvement in torque through the rev range is welcomed by use of CVTC, though the main reason CVTC is installed on the exhaust side is to control EGR (self-EGR). The engine block was not only refined for vibration and harshness, but also improvements in oil circulation (enlarged sump) and cooling. In a big step to decrease friction, the Conrods are lengthened giving a reduced angle of upwards/downwards force in relation to the piston so that piston friction is reduced along the cylinder wall during full crank rotation, therefore the height of the deck of the cylinder head has had been increased. As well as reducing friction for the main movement parts, the piston rings and crank surfaces also were given attention. Also in a world first for use on a domestic engine, the valve lifters are coated in a 'diamond like carbon coating' so that friction decreased by 40%.
  16. Yeah SW20 MR-2
  17. Thanks for posting that scathing The twin throttle on the 'Ultimate' car is good to see, the next GT-R is probably going use a seperate surge tank set up though similar to the SuperGT Z33. Autech Tsukada (Attakd) are probably at the top when it comes to quick laps and time attacks. I wouldn't be suprised of some of those cars could place at a GT300 meeting.
  18. I was just going to say... Heaps of minor stuff will change from that concept especially in the cabin.
  19. I don't have one, but have driven the wagon version called the 'Legnum VR-4'. It was an auto so didn't really get a feel for it as what I could've with a manual, but for what it is it's (the Galant) a great alternative to a Toyota Mark II or R33 sedan. Being front wheel drive based 4WD you do get that typical feel of understeer, but straight line performance is on par with the others mentioned, and on paper really should go as well as an Evo 5/6 but I don't think so. As for the Galant you can't really argue with those looks, it's very well proportioned. But it fails miserably for aftermarket support compared to Skylines, theres only a handful of companies in Japan that really support the Galant/Legnum and even then they aren't exactly cheap. Try finding stuff for Mitsu GTO's and adapt... Yahoo will come to the rescue somewhat too. Other thing is the engine is a trasverse mounted twin turbo so with the limited room and piping everywhere you might find it hard to find someone who enjoys working on them. Some specs: Chassis: EC5A Engine: 6A12 Capacity: 2498cc Type: Quad cam 24 valve V6 twin turbo Trans: 5MT/4AT Power: 280ps @ 5500rpm Torque: 37.0kg/m @ 4000rpm Weight: 1480kg
  20. Actually that car needs some serious rims under those guards so much that I had to post it again... nothing under 18x10 +19 (front) and 18x12 +10 (rear) will redeem your car now my son... hope you've got a spare $5000 for decent wheels and tires. My brothers HCR32 wears 18x10 +19 on the rear with camber and NO GUARD MODS bar lipping... so you'll need some wiiiiiide rims with low offset to make your car look right. **edit: Just realized it's a GT-R... 18x12 +10 all round matey! **edit #2: Bad move sticking a GTS-t bodykit on a GT-R. Now the guards at the front are less wide than the rear, but you need the same width wheels front and rear. So either the front wheels will fill the guards nicely with a 'sunken battleship' offset look on the rear, or wheels fitting nicely at the rear (ie: flush with the guards) and sticking out on the front.
  21. I trust some 18x12 +10 are on order?
  22. Just a matter of deciphering those auction workers chicken scratch handwriting hey? Mind you it's almost as dificult for native Japanese to decipher as it is to us lowly P-plater gaijin.

    What The !

Nicks Japanese is coming along nicely I see
  24. Smells like f*ckedgaijin...
  25. It has awesome value added Xenon headlights installed... good for another 100,000 yen on top of the asking price. It's got aftermarket alloy pipng or something to that effect. No offense Poida but it's a 'Nismo' bumper... that '=' is actually 二 (ni). About the hitherto untranslated bits of the auction sheet: On the 28th March 2002 (when the car was previously up for auction), the mileage at that time read 44,900kms and a claim was made to dispute this - probably by examining paperwork - so that just a few months prior on 11th Dec 2001 the odometer read 49,554kms. It's most likely had it's instrument cluster changed. In other words, this sucker is packing up to 100,000kms lifespan ;)
