  1. I just say 'Japanese' all the time, every time. No probs there and no one can accuse me of being lazy
  2. No I don't agree. 'Gaijin' is (in part) derogatory... if it weren't, then why don't our Japanese staff ever use it when talking about foreigners? Even when they're talking amongst themselves (and not using 'keigo' - polite language) they still use 'gaikokujin' in order *not* to offend... I've asked them this more than a few times and they specifically don't want to use 'gaijin'. This all happens with me in earshot by they way... if I was out of the room though, I'm sure gaijin would soon pop up (in a non-derogatory sense). This happens on a daily basis for me and I think it might best describe the situation.
  3. I've heard 'gaijin' being used as a derogatory term here too many times for it to be considered just a shortened word and nothing more... although I do agree for the most part that it is just a shortened noun due to what totoro pointed out with the Japanese being 'word shortening masters'. If I had to classify it as something (in an 'on the street' context) I'd have to say that the term gaijin is derogatory. Gaikokujin on the other hand would be neutral.
  4. Wrong way around there mate 'Gaijin' is the rude shortened disrespectful term and 'gaikokujin' is the full term which is neutral.

  6. REPOST. Sorry Shan, that story came out last year... and it was probably in retaliation to the '2006 Skyline does not go V8' thread.
  7. Americans have to crash Japanese sportscars... it's in their constitution. I hope he's ok, and I hope he learns his lesson nd sticks to FF Chrysler Neons.
  8. BMWs or Mercedes on the other hand will have them scrambling for the doorhandles... just make sure you've got a nice apartment to back it up
  9. I was gonna say it sounds Jamaican...
  10. Can't find Blit's directions by using the serach function... I think it's broken? Maybe PM Blitz or mmmgtir as those guys are well experienced with getting to shops around Tokyo.
  11. It says: "Whats this? Everythings in English!!!" ^^^ Very weird this being an Australian site and all...
  12. I think Blitz posted up detailed directions on how to get to SuperAB Tokyo Bay? Do a search, I'm sure it wasn't that long ago...
  13. Have a look here: http://www.7tune.com/skyline_001.html The pics shown there are almost exactly the same as the ones posted in the 'sticky' topic.
  14. ^^^ Is it real??? I was under the impression those vids were done totally with the girls consent, they're all over 18 and were paid for the 'experience'? Just like those fake Japanese 'rape' videos? This is just what I've been told...
  15. A couple 'a Mexicans
  16. Gojira: Dreeemaaa isn't the guy I told you about... so there might be 2 guys...
  17. 1) Yes, the current Skyline is the V35 2) No that isn't the V35 above, it's the GT-R Concept. 3)People say that the G35 is the current Skyline because it's exactly the same car, except that the G35 is sold through Infiniti (Nissans upmarket brand) and has different badges and maybe a few minor trim differences... thats it.
  18. No no no... listen to me , you're getting confused by these other guys. The pics you posted weren't of the 'V35' GT-R concept, they were of the 'GT-R Concept'. There won't be a V35 GT-R per se, but a completely different model seperate from the current (or next) Skyline. In fact the next GT-R will be a stand alone model marketed as an Infiniti! So the top sports car offered by 'Nissan' will remain the Fairlady (350)Z.

Lol how Australian is that? Then again, ramen isn't exactly a Japanese invention either...
  20. 3 words: Kansai Fleamarket.
  21. Yeah, I could take you around to a few places... but I've already got one guy from Australia dropping by on the weekend, he wants to go out to Nanko on Saturday night so I'm trying to tee that up as we speak. Tell you what, if I can organise something this weekend, and you can get down to JR Ashiya station and pay money for some fuel and toll then we can see some drift on Sat...
  22. You're only 17 mang... a bit lacking in the life experience area, so teaching adults is out. Teaching kids is a possibility but at my school we only teach young ladies 20 - 30 year olds You could hand out flyers? Do some busking? I'm sure if you wore some old clothes and played some Beatles songs on an old guiter you'd make a bundle...
  23. They've got monthly events at Central Circuit, thats the closest 'proper' circuit to Osaka/Kobe, and theres always the good 'ol drfit down in Nanko. Alternitively theres the touge up in Rokko somewhere but I've never been there when it's on, I caught the end of a session about 4 years back but thats was it.... damned if I can find out where it is now though.
  24. Where am I from *in an Australian*? Eeeeerrrm... my mum? lol I'm from Perth, WA.
  25. Okuike? Geezuz do you see many Inoshishi?? lol I live about 5 mins walk north of JR Ashiya station, right next to Hankyu Ashiyagawa station. One more question: what in the hell are you doing up there??? Btw, I'm not Japanese.
