Clutch Advice... R33 Gtr
tricstar replied to dato$2nv's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah they are but its nearly the same cost as a new one.. I looked into NPC's custom twin and they might cost around $2000 to start with, but only about $500 to rebuild, and rebuildable many times, unlike Exeddy -
ok BCF it is, look forward to meeting you guys

Clutch Advice... R33 Gtr
tricstar replied to dato$2nv's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
you can get a single to hold that power, Jim Berry etc, ( some people will rave about them, ) but with a shit load of clamp, which can be hard on other parts, gearbox etc Just get a twin thats rebuildable for a reasonable price, NPC, OS Giken etc, I went through an Exedy twin and a heavy single within only about 15000kms each with only 400rwhp, had an OS Giken triple on with 650rwhp for over 20000kms and still good.. food for thought I went the big clamp single and broke shit -

Recommendations For R32 Gtr Gearbox Rebuilder?
tricstar replied to shaund's topic in Western Australia
yeah Commo box is one thing, start talking GTR box and they start quoting phone numbers$ I don't think they do enough of them locally, as apposed to Commo's etc Anyway Shaun how did you go, get quotes? $? local ? east? -
check out the " nolimitevents" website, this sunday Hill Climb at Jacks Hill, behind Barbagallos Raceway, plenty of spots left, only $90 for 6 runs. for those looking for an event other than a cruise !
-
i Danny, check out www.nolimitevents.com for track nights and hill climbs, definately the best way to get started, good bunch of guys..also theres a sprint series at RAC driving centre, do a search on mc motorsport state sprint series, also the classicrally website for one and two day events are good but pricey. either way get on the CAMS website, find an affiliated car club, join and then get your CAMS LS2 licence, its the one licence that everyone accepts! get the car club and CAMS stuff sorted while your cars off the road. nolimits are CAMS affiliated. I think your inbox is full, you can't receive pm's ? anyway get out on the track, its a blast

Recommendations For R32 Gtr Gearbox Rebuilder?
tricstar replied to shaund's topic in Western Australia
I went through a workshop so obviously they had their mark up on it, but just to have a gearbox inspected ( at the advise of the workshop, which I no longer go to ) so pulled apart and checked, then reassembled with new seals and bearings, so no gears or syncros touched cost me $1100, Thought that was a bit steep so rang a couple of places around town ( could only find a couple that were interested or capable ) and was told that was about right .. Got onto Simon from Competition Gearboxes, recommended by someone on here, and he said I had been stitched up ( as I suspected ) he charged about $200 for an inspection if you didn't proceed with any work. Anyway from memory I think Simon said to recon a box with syncros etc was about $800. But ring around yourself and get some prices they should be any to quote you over the phone if you tell them you need new syncro's, seals and bearings Competition Gearboxes 03 97233380 -

New (or Not) To Sauwa? Introduce Yourself Here!
tricstar replied to tigeryas's topic in Western Australia
Hey you'll, I'm Richard I've been on here for a fews years but only just joined offically ( well did the form waiting for email) On my second R33 GTR, did lots of modding to the first one, then got the bug and wanted more so this one is Dark Purple with pretty much everything done 2.8L stroker with a TO4Z and 710awhp at the hubs, its amazing what you can get used to. Have never been on a cruise ( maybe I should ) but do quite a few events at barbagallos, RAC-AHG, and some Classic Rally events as well as drags etc.. you could contact me if you need info on getting on the track or doing events and I could point you in the right direction, look forward to meeting some member at some SAUWA events -
just put Michelin Pilot PS2 on my GTR, excellent grip dry and wet, little bit noisier than the Dunlop P600 that came off but I would expect the Michelins to last longer. for anyone looking at a good tyre, I went for a spin in a mates new M3 and could not believe the grip, under braking, cornering and accelerating , in didn't step out or even give a hint of a squeal, and we were putting them to the test---------Pirelli PZero's, I'm very happy with the Michelins, but after that drive I'll be trying the Pirelli's next.

what about just a simple catch/can- breather tank setup, do you really need a drain back/vent to the sump ? are you getting that much blowby on a street driven car ?
-
yeah same thing I had, tirerack didn't include the Quarantine Paperwork, next time I'll get them to email it to me and follow up from this end just to be sure customs gets it. +2 for what tyres are they and let us know how they perform ? thats some serious contact on the outside block.

James Nisspeed, very helpfull and knows RB's, Built the stroker in my car (750hp+) did a great job

K Sport Brake Review
tricstar replied to Checkbuzz's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
that doesn't sound like good support-custom service. but have you fitted them and driven the car? to see if you do get any vibration? I installed some 8 spot calipers & 356mm rotors from K-sport about a month ago, done a couple of events and they are good.. definately an upgrade from the standard Brembos. -
:rant:yeah I finally got license sorted out and went down too, only to get there and be told it was FULL oh well have to wait a few months to have a crack at a 10... Anyway, up to Barbagallos tonight for the Nolimits track night
-
last drags til summer, if you want to run some times, better get down there tonight, I'm frantically trying to organise a Super Street Licence at the last minute also tomorrow night the last Nolimits night at Barbs for the season
-
I would say there would be quite a few modded GTR owners who would disagree with that, myself being one.. My brother has a heavily modified Evo 6.5 and me GTR 33, the Evo bounces off the line quick for sure, but with such short gears i pass him in second when he's near the end of third. Having said that, for tight course events like have here the Evo will be quicker. anyway sounds like you'll moving over to the Evo website soon
-
where did you get the kit from ?? oops didn't read the above post first

brembos reduced to $900 ono, cheapest brembos ever,
