  6. Hi, Yeah the HKS EIDS (electronic idle stabiliser) is used to help this problem. It electronically adjusts the rpm curve when the throttle is released. Ive got one inbuilt on the HKS boost controller that im about to install. ps. check out the for sale section, as I have a stand alone unit for sale. Will
  7. Hi guys, Ive got a good condition HKS EIDS, Electronics Idle Stabliser. Its helps to solve the low rpm stalling problem that people get. Basically it adjusts and slows down the rpm drop when the accelerator is released. Especially helps those with BOV that vent to atmosphere. Still have the special splice plugs unused that are needed for install. Retail is about $175, so make me an offer Id be happy around the $100 mark thanx will p.s also still got 2xr32 gtst guards LH and RH side in perfect condition unmarked gunmetal grey, 2xr32 GTR front section of skirt in both original and fibreglass, r32 gtst bonnet clip and bracket.
  8. Hi, Need some help on an install of HKS EVC III. Its the HKS electronic boost controller. My current setup also has HKS SSQV blow off and HKS type S intercooler. Currently I have a 2 stage bleed valve (one tap in engine bay i never use) and one in cabin. NOW... firstly just installed the FMIC and there is a outlet that I have plugged on the intercooler pipe for a hose... is it for boost controller or blow off or both? My blow off is installed near the plenum, with one hose coming from top with a tee that the in cabin tap goes too. There is then another hose from the bottom of blow off leading somewhere, i dont know, i think back into another plenum hose. There is another hose and tee piece where the other tap is down the front of car near air filter which attaches i think to the waste gate actuator. How do I remove the manual setup and where do the 3 hoses from the HKS solenoid unit go????? Obviously 2 of them will go where the manual tap setup was connected ie plenum and actuator, but the 3rd? Shall i run a hose from the blow off straight to the intercooler pipe outlet that I have plugged?? Any help is much appreciated...
  9. True, but they only charge what they have to, to cover risky cars and risky drivers. An average 30 year old is a hell of a lot more likely to drive round safely in a camry when after a small incident may be repaired in 3 days for $1500. Whereas a 19year old with a moded up skyline, will no doubt have more chance of a crash, but then may take 6 weeks to get his 400R front bar, pearl paint, damaged front mount imported and finished for bout $4000. But as usual, all us honest people who drive safely will be affected by the few that do not. But thats life... Hey im not saying to lie to insurance companies, because their initial job is more so 'not' to pay the claim if they can, so they will investigate the incident. If you lie then it can put you in a worse situation down the track as it will effect your policy now, and other policies if you have history of refused claims. My point was just to look at the whole situation, and was mainly due to people having a go at famous, but from the little information that we have, I dont think that famous can be given a bad reputation because of this particular incident. Obviously people on this forum are all waiting for some claims to be paid by Famous to confirm that the policies are sweet, but I dont think this can go down as a unfair, unpaid claim based on the circumstances. Will Dont worry Ive paid over $3000 per year with a $3500 excess, so insurance companies are C&%ts to me too, but I was only trying to make a point from their perspective
  10. I dunno, but even if it is not in the policy directly, there is always a clause about 'duty of care'. By handing your keys to someone else, that is directly increasing the risk of theft, as it is now relying on that person to be responsible for your cars security. Not exactly similar, but kinda like letting someone else drive your car. The risk is that the other person could be anyone. They are not questioned, as the owner is, when opening the policy, about previous insurance, driving and criminal history. It is similar to with home insurance, whereby leaving the front door unlocked, 'if proven' can make your policy null and void. An example is on a much smaller scale, but when I was studying I used to sell mobile phones. We used to offer insurance..... had many many arguements from customers over the years and witnessed them with the customer speaking to the insurancecompany, when they would have claims rejected because they didnt take 'necessary actions to reduce the risk of theft'. There was a stage there, when people were sitting at tables on footpaths outside cafes, and people were riding past on roller blades and snatching phones off the table. Also many cases where the customer had left phone on seat of car, or in a car kit cradle, and as it was in full view, they would not be covered. It was annoying to see, as many honest people were denied insurance, and it wasnt their fault. When on the other hand we would see people coming in, sometimes a few times, doing 'insurance jobs', with us knowing that they were doing dodgy insurance claims, but because they knew the right thing to say, they got approved straight away. Hey, Im not having a go at you RNS11z, but this is how I interpret Famous' response... again, as stated, we havent got all the details, but this is prob where they are coming from. Anyhow, Im glad you got your car back unharmed, you were very lucky, especially with those mods and times. Will

  12. Hi, Does anyone know the part number of the standard GTST fuel pump. My r32 gtst has a pump with from memory A42-T44 as part no. It seems the same size as a GTR one, but I thought that GTST should be smaller. any input is appreciated. Regards William

Pm me offers Thanx Will p.s Still got Original GTR front section of skirts for guards- need painting as one is silver and one is gunmetal - plus fibreglass copies & 2 perfect condition R32 GTST Guards in gunmetal
  15. They need some lengthening. The wheel arch of the GTR must be bigger at the rear of car, cos the distance from the back of door to wheel arch on gtst is longer than the GTR. I originally thought the GTR would be longer because of the flare, but its the opposite. The skirts are prob bout 3-5cm short on gtst Will

  20. compare front to back. Im not with my car now, but as i recall the rear are 2 pot and front are 4pot, nearly double the width of rears. So if the front is bigger, then you should be OK. Anyone correct me, but I thinks thats the case Will
  21. Relax rezz, its just a discussion. Well I stand corrected, actually I have that thing on my visor too, and was wondering why it was there. What does the airbag wheel look like, is it an R33 wheel?? P.s Im pretty sure non type M, have just 2 pot brakes?
