  1. thats cool
  2. its sounds like your tapets need tightening. same thing happens with my friends 1GGTE. and when there is not oil in the head it will tap heaps and loud. what kind of oil psi is your car running
  3. on my exhaust they used as little bends as they could for better flow. and its not that loud unless you really get into it. and i don't see how you can lose HP with getting a 3" inch turbo baack. i can understand the end muffler restricting the flow.
  4. well i went down to my local muffler shop ( not dodgy guys ) and got a 3" cat back ( my stock cat has 3" in/out pipes on it to?? weird) mild steel (its thicker than normal too) exhaust for $260 then the rear muffler for $190 ( cost +10% mates rates) i think its a 3" in and 5" out looks awesome. so thats $450. then i got them to order a dump/front pipe in for $350 fitted one piece job. so thats $800 all up for a 3" inch turbo back bascially for the exhaust except for the cat. i looked at the welds on the pipe and there spot on. if you know anyone from nissan you can get a stanless one for about $170 i think. its all about who you know, not what you know!! anyway thats my two cents.
  5. yeah its getting dyno'd soon so that should tell me what the heck is going on. so does anyone know why the computer would be retarding the timing or leaning it out? the fuel pump was tested and when the conversion was done the manual computer was put in. but the car did the same thing with the auto computer.. could it be a reg problem or something ( not enough fuel getting to the injectors )??
  6. ok. i'll get it done as soon as i can. why do you think it would be retarding the timing??
  7. i got a power something one i can't remember which one it is. but it was doing the problem before i put it on. so i'll try and remove it and see what happens.. could it be the cooler as well, cos its only stock one. could it be some sensor of some sort as well that is stuffed over time? my friend has a gtir and he had a blocked cat and it didn't boost at all.. nothing. but mine still boosts
  8. my car must be really weird then. i got my APEXi dual chamber bov the other week (came off a VR4 and conneted straight up) and blocked off that pipe with a 600ml coke lid and put the clamp back on and the car runs fine.. it doesn't stall at the lights, it fuels up alittle not much at all when it is at idle. so i don't know. i got a R32 GTS4.. before i got my bov a friend and i tryed to get it to blow flames out the exhaust by taking this pipe off. didn't work though
  9. i got a malpassi one for $170 + postage if you want it? brand new never used
  10. i got some stuff laying around that i don't really need anymore. R32 stock Intercooler - $60 SR20 3" air filter adapter - $30 ( stanless ) R32 GTS4 turbo AUTOMATIC GEARBOX - $400 ono comes with pedal, stick, etc R32 4" air filter adapter - $50 Malpassi fuel Regulator - $200 ono Brand New standard R32 BOV - $20 works perfectly sounds good with air filter R32 gts4 4 door Rear spoiler with light - $80 gun metal grey R32 light grey Front left fender - $50 a few scratches but no dents. speco water temp white faced gauge. light scratches on side bits. - $30 most of it can be posted but some of the larger stuff i would rather pick up.. WANTED - one or cheap set of R32 rims in brisbane urgently!!!
  11. but whats with the mixture leaning out past there? my mate wants my turbo for his cultus gti motor that is in a sierra. so he is sourcing me a RB25 turbo and he'll fit it for free. so do you thing thats what the problem is. also it goes ok the first time you get up it after you start it ( after warming it up )???? then it just dies again
  12. i have a problem with my R32 GTS4 RB20DET. i have a small amount of mods - zorst, filter, bleed valve, 500hp fuel pump, 10psi. and its finally manual.. lol. sorry,. anyway ever since i have had the car the power after 5 grand dies off a fair bit. not as much now that the manual is in there but its really annoying when you are trying to drag someone. its not the plugs or coil packs. what could it be???? i have a autometer air/fuel meter and it leans out when it hits 5 grand... when i did the conversion i put in the manual computer as well. has anyone had a problem like this before?
  13. all the parts were off a front cut, and they cost me $1200 for everything. clutch, flwheel, console parts, etc and computer on exchange.. including the bolts to. then oil and stuff ontop of that. if you are thinking of doing it either make sure you know how to change a gearbox or get someone to do it. cause its a BIG pain in the arse the first time you do one. and get a 180b input shaft to . it makes things a shit load easier to line the clutch up. the stuff was actually from a guy in perth but my computer crashed and i losed his name and email address. if i get it again i'll give it to you.
  14. what condition is the steering wheel in??? is it a hicas one??
  15. ok guys we actually drained the transfer case and found there was about 4 - almost 5 litres in there... NOT GOOD.. we put the 2L that it needs and off its goes. and 4WD launches are so much fun!!!
  16. questions questions questions.... i have a 93 GTS-4. the gearbox identical on the outside but its not as strong as the gtr one. i have 4 pot brakes onthe front and 2 pot on the rear. all shafts are the same. the suspension is the same setup but the shocks and springs aren't as good as the gtr. The 4WD system is the same as the gtr. the diff i don't know as i have auto one in there but have recently converted to manual.. :) basically you can call it a babyzilla!!! lol i have a 4 door gts4 as well so its abit different. body wise. i also have the thought of dropping in a gtr motor too... mmmmmmmmm power. but i think i can handle ( for awhile ) with the RB20DET.
  17. anyway back to the main point of this tread. does anyone know how much oil goes into a gts4 or gtr gearbox???
  18. the gear boot isn't split or anything. actually it looks new as. i think i'll check the oil level and go from there. thanks alot guys. my car wouldn't be as good as it is now if i didn't post anything on this site. you learn so much!
  19. the box wouldn't go in cos of the spiggot bearing was too big on the inside diameter. so we did something really dodgy. we got another bearing to get the inside diameter found a drill bit that size... $38 later. then drilled out the one that was in there to that size. we actually did i good job of it. looked perfect and there are no noise's or anything.
  20. yer i remember forgetting the breather pipe after we did up the top bolt then having to undo it to put it up there... i'll try that. thanks alot guys. i was freaking out last night.
  21. my mate did it so i don't know.. on friday we are going to drain the whole thing and put new oil in again... you put about 4L of oil in hay??
  22. if anyone can tell me why oil is spitting up through the gearstick goto the maintenance section for my other thread :thumbdwn:
  23. WHAT THE???? we just finished install my manual and we took it for a drive and its f*&!*$# awesome!!! but when we came back we found that oil was leaking from somewhere... my car is a gts4 so keep in mind the 4WD stuff. it seemed to be a red liquid but after tightening everthing under the transfer case and checking everthing we found that the oil was coming out of the top of the gearbox where the gearstick is... now does anyone have any ideas on what the hell is going on??? is it too much oil or what because the gearbox feels perfect. it selects gears fine changes fine but as soon as you get under it in second the oil starts the stray up into the car :thumbdwn: NOT COOL! anyone got any ideas. we just thought it has too much oil and its just getting rid of it but the oil colour is red so .... i don't know. the car isn't being driven until we get this figured out.
  24. its all good now. we got the gearbox in and bolted up in about 1 hr. if you are stuck trying to line up a clutch by a 180b or 200b gearbox from the wreakers for $50 then hit the sh1t out of it for the input shaft and it takes you about 10 secs to line it up... so easy. with that bearing we got another one to compare but it was the same so we just drilled out the one that was in there perfectly and the gearbox fits in nicely. now all we need to do this afternoon is the clutch cylinders and put the radiator but in and the bonnet on and its RACE TIME!!! anyone going out to the street meet at willowbank tonight?
