I believe the guy broke both legs and got a few other injuries I've since forgotten. I've still got the Brutale (repaired and sexy as ever), my TLR1000 v-twin, my GSXR600 race bike ... even built a CBR turboed drag bike. But I stripped that thing down because it was just too dangerous. Chassis couldn't cope with the power

The GSXR was crashed on the road. I bought it like that. Sent it off for chassis straightening by Snowy @ Adrill Engineering, then rebuilt it with Showa suspension etc. The Brutale was crashed by me = one broken shoulder and an angry insurer! The RS250 was low sided going around turn 2. I later subsequently crashed at turns 5 and 3 on that bike. The GSXR was also low sided at the exit of turn 5 and also thru the esses. Can't wait to get back into racing, but need the shoulder to heal up more. Don't think it'll withstand a high speed tumble I just need to crash at turns 1 and 6 for a clean sweep GO HARD OR GO HOME! :P

They rambled on about "if a fire broke out, we'd need to move the bikes" I'm comprehensively insured for all my toys (inc fire and theft). I think there is a higher chance someone would steal my bike, than there is the chance of a fire getting it. To which I answered "are you personally going to be here at 3am if (or when) a fire comes thru, to move my bike? Don't think so" My insurance would not cover me if they knew I handed my keys over to a (potential) thief.

Ryan, I'd like to have my timing checked if you can do that. I have my own timing light, but obviously there are no leads to clip it to. Damn RB motors Might also change my plugs too ... I have a set of iridiums ready to go.

I have a compression gauge. They don't cost much to buy. Just remove your spark plug and screw it in and turn over the engine (with the coilpacks removed). Don't use a tension bar on your plugs. You'll do more harm than good and you'll only overtighten them at the very least.

+1 no one gets my keys. Get a kick in the nuts if you try. Remember having my bikes in a show and shine years ago and they wanted my keys during the time it was there ... like f**k they're going to get them. I'm not handing over the keys to $13K worth of bike. I set up my display and disappeared asap with my keys. On the last day they caught up with me and had a spew

I've only ever had problems with motorcycle cops. I thought this one was going to find something, then he just let me go ... weird. I seriously think he expected a young teen to get out of the car ... not a mid 30s bloke ... but stuck by his guns for a while. He def knew his cars for the most part and was only asking questions he already knew the answers to, to see if I'd try to bullshit him.

Got pulled over by a traffic cop this morning from my exam at TAFE to work. Driving down Greenhill Road motorcycle cop going the other way has a long hard stare at me. I see him do a u-turn in my rear view, so I think "here we go!". Pulls me over and comments on how "fast" I was travelling. I inform him I was behind a tow truck and well under 60kph. He doesn't push that further. Next he asks what year Skyline my car is. I tell him its a Stagea ... a family wagon. He then tells me he's checking my rego, because there was a large group of "these type of cars" racing around the city on the weekend. I kindly inform him that I was the event organiser of that cruise and I know for sure no one was racing around the city. I told him the full route of the cruise and how many turned up. Asked to look inside my cabin. Asked about the mount on my dash, its for my GPS. No aftermarket gear there, so he can't do me for anything. Even queried if my DVD player was legal (looked too large in his opinion). Looked at my exhaust, asked to hear it. Quiet as, so he moved onto the next thing. Can he look under the bonnet ... stock looking, so leaves me be there too. Does ask if it has a BOV, I say is has a factory bov plumbed back into the system. "Are those mags legal?" he asks me. 18" from 16" is legal I say. He checks for worn tyres. Has a looooong look at the ride height. I cut in telling him the lega height is 360mm and mine are set 370mm, even offer to get my own tape measure from the car. Then he moves onto the rear glass ... He says its an illegal tint. I tell him its factory privacy glass, not a tint. He umms and ahhs for a long time and calls it in, I'm thinking he's not going to care what answer he gets, and will do me for that (he was looking for something!), but no he tells me to drive safe and gets back on his bike. He was looking for something to pin on me. Score to date: Ruby 5 : Cops 0
