Im thinking of a DVD because it nicer than a mp3 player too but wouldnt wanna get near to that yellow "card" from cops. And the dvd is to be use when waiting for my gf or when my gf is in the car with me? But of course that is not a must. I have no knowledge on how to install though unless you are willing to help me out? I want to listen to songs and have bass. Thats pretty much what i need i guess. I saw the pioneer deck + 1 amp + 1 monoblock + speakers (which i dont think i will need as im good with the current stock ones). So i guess i will just need a mp3 headunit, 1 amp and 1 sub. I dont know whats a monoblock for anyway? would like to have all installed for around 1.3k? or i can just get the headunit 1st because im sick of listening to radio!!!! :S and i still need to watch my spendings as i have a couple of more stuff coming in over the next few weeks and my 100k servicing..

Hi fellas, was looking at getting a DVD player but found out that in legal terms, the dvd player must be hooked up to your handbrake which means you cant watch movies while driving unless you bypass it which will then attract a yellow sticker or in the event of an accident, insurance may not compensate. Now, i know there are a few guys out there who has DVD, was wondering if you have bypass the handbrake thingy? And would you guys reckon that i should just go for a higher end mp3 player with amp and woofer or a dvd player? pretty tempted by the strathfield offer of the full mp3 system (headunit, full speakers, 2 amps, 1 woofer) but the installation cost is hefty... :S

I like the looks too and it will certainly look very legal. would you be able to get me a pic of the holder greenline is selling? i really wanna do something to my car before my pay finishes. or i might get a DVD player 1st. Was thinking of maybe just a turbo gauge by the right side (mearcat) and forget about the rest. but was worried that i might need the rest next time... hahaha... im so full of contradictions aye... my bad... yea, chi100188, would appreciate if you can get me contacts and pics so i can think about it. but the factory facia is not able to fit the defis in i heard... what about smaller sizes ike 52mm instead of 60mm? This is the reason why i am trying to get the factory facia cos i wanna put the defis in it but was told by some that it will not fit...

darn!! A pilar is illegal, on the console illegal... need to think hard again... bugger!

lol~ well, im trying to "minimize" the chance or else my gf will force me to sell the car!! has FMIC, 3", dump pipe and BOV now already... going to the pits = sell car or 3 years of naggings... both looks nice to me but havent see much of 3 gauge pod holder though... cos next i will be getting a boost controller so i guess that may be sitting in front of the speedo or somewhere else....

DAN!! hate myself for not seeing this post earlier now!! anyway, the bulbs are for the normal beam or parkers or high beam? very interested in the 6000k ones. had 8000ks HID kit from supervision on my civic last time, colour looks great but sucks at night cant see shiiiittt... and i suppose these HID bulbs are more legal than the HID kits?? are these similar to philip diamond vision?? im very keen...

Hi guys, i am thinking of getting defis for my er34 soon but as my car has the lcd screen option (am selling the screen to someone in the forum already) thus i have a pretty level surface if i want to have the defis sitting on the centre console but now the thing is, im not sure if that is legal and if it would get me a yellow "post-it" another choice i have would be to have the defis on the A pillar whichever option is legal? im looking at having 3 gauges by the way. pics of three gauges (not factory ones) sitting in a 34 would be great.

not too sure about turbo cars but for NA cars generally black smoke means running rich and white smoke means gasket problem (most cases).

YOU ARE LUCKY!! cos my boot has the same rusting problem. darn!! will just let it rust for now (bank is dry) lol... will look at getting a CF boot or repaint the whole car in around 2 years time...

Thanks for the reminder dude! that make perfect sense but the purpose of me getting a DVD screen+player would be to entertain my GF who will be my "co-pilot" most of the time and when she is not in the car i can hear the music and such. Just thought it would be good to have the option of a dvd screen to watch movies or MTVs. but your point is taken and i will carefully reconsider my decision. thanks nevertheless! will start looking for a player after i am done with the defis. Defi, Rims, head unit, suspension in random order... haha have a good one guys!

That sounds great!! However, i need to order the defis through a friend which will take about a week so if your factory gauge holder is gonna be able to fit defi then i can get it from ya!(Let me know if it fit defis and when i can get it off ya). Have pretty much decided to put the defi on the top of the console with or without the factory (of course it would be better with the factory gauge holder so it looks more legal) and the DVD player with motorized screen below the aircon vents and the air con controls relocate to the last din area. You guys are a great bunch honestly! Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out fine for me... no sudden hiccups on wiring problems, sensor problems etc... hate it when that happens... My previous EG suddenly had its fuel lines loose after a service and stalled when i left home to visit my GF! (about 500m).. oh well, everyone have a good one!

Does it matter in anyway? pardon me for asking because i just got my 1st turbo car as well thus would love to learn more. And i am also looking at getting a boost controller myself so i can have the car dyno tune as its running kinda rich. its literally "sucking" me dry.. haha GTT ER34 i'd got by the way with FMIC, 3" exhaust system, oil cooler, pod filter and BOV. getting me about 300km with 3/4 tank gone.

Hi elliot! thanks for replying and what you have done to your console is what i want!! So now i need to get the pod console cover in order to be able to fit in the 3 gauges? I have found one factory one for sale so i am going to get that one instead. And will use the factory gauges instead for the time being... and the console set up i am thinking of removing the GPS unit and make myself a double din space for a DVD player too. So the factory pods are not going to be able to fit defis eh... hmm... i hate the customization thingy.. hence will see how it goes 1st... 1st get that factory console meters into my car... Elliot, would be good to get more advice from you as i am not going to be able to do myself thus i will be going to shops to ask around as well... oh any bro here would be kind enough to help??
