  1. Should have stuck with the old RB20 mate!!!! At least you know where the limit is now for a RB25 with stock internals - now you'll just have to put a RB26 in it instead Or rebuild the RB25 - whats the plan? Chris
  2. It seems everyone wants one of these!!! perhaps a group buy should be organized??
  3. Cool stuff Matt, are you taking it out to the drags anytime soon?
  4. Didn't end up going with the R33 GTS25T brakes, I got some slotted rotors and Race Brakes pads (of Clint32's car which is getting GTR brakes Didn't think they would make much a differance, but I was wrong!! Stops heaps better than before, I can now get that good g-force feeling under acceleration and braking now Will need a track day to give them a good test, but so far so good Also, big thanks to Clint for helping me out with them - cheers mate
  5. If its got a stock fuel pump I'd replace that or at least get it checked to to if its running out of pressure at high rpm. I gather the Veilside ECU would be programmed for jap fuel, so perhaps get hold of some toluene and mix up some high octane juice? Or just keep it at 14psi?
  6. Yeah, I know We'll just have to wait and see what I do in that regard
  7. Does anyone know if you can adjust the angle of the drivers and passenger windows? Mine currently tilt in towards the car when they are down a little, and when you put them up it mashes the window seal I have just got some new seals, but don't want to put them in until I fix this other problem Chris
  8. Its got good pads and fluid, but I want more!!! I want my eyes to pop out when I hit the brake pedal, so I reckon the 33 brakes will be the go
  9. Fair enough. At least you are travelling down a well used modification path, so there shouldn't be to many surprises along the way. Just make sure you get a good clutch to use the extra grunt
  10. Yep I remember. Good to hear you are getting some stuff organized I have just installed a Greddy Profec A boost controller, but used a turbosmart bleed valve when it was tuned and for about 5 months after that. I'd go for a pod filter, they aren't expensive and it gets rid of the stock aribox which can be a little restrictive at 200rwkw. Bosch 040 is what I have, got it for $300 from motortraders. They are a little noisy, but not much. At least you can hear it working! Tilbrooks did all of the turbo fit and tune, but as Martin no longer works there, Morpowa now does them. Not sure what they charge, as Mark looked after me with the price. What turbo are you going for?
  11. mine is as follows - FMIC, Bosch Pump with stock injectors and pressure, HKS 2510 turbo (quite similar in size to a RB25 turbo), 3" exhaust and re-mapped stock computer = 200.3rwkw @ 1bar boost Not sure if a RB25 turbo will get you to 200, I reckon around 180 would be about it. Also budget for a decent clutch and reqular replacement of the rear tyres!
  12. Surely somethings not right there. I'd be contacting turbo tune to see if they can help you out in some way. I know if mine was to go now (I had it done 3 months ago) I'd be jumping up and down like a raving lunatic. I'd call them and tell them what has happened and see what they think? Did they replace the idlers and tensoiners as well? My belt was replaced because it got really noisy around the cam belt cover area, it turned out all of the tensioners/idlers were seized and the belt was almost ready to snap. They might have left the old ones on there, and they may have possibly failed?? Its hard to assume things on others behalf, and I'm not having a go at Turbo Tune, but I reckon they should help with the cost of a re-build if it was found that the timing belt which they replaced has failed and rooted your motor
  13. cam timing belt has either come off or snapped, the valves that were open when this has happend stayed open, and the pistons have come up the bores and smashed into them. A really bad thing to happen
  14. Please tell me this is not so!!!!
  15. Ok, put me down for some then if you can get them Camber kit and tyres go on Monday, will let you know how it goes
  16. Ok, sounds good Can you get braided lines? I thought they were illegal?
  17. I think the only differance is that 32 GTR rotors are a 2mm thicker than 33 GTS25T, and the same diameter (296mm compared to 280mm on ours) A set of R33 GTR Brembos would be nice - but they'd cost a fair bit Do you reckon that the master cylinder will still be OK? I can't see any dramas with swapping calipers, so it should be OK. I'm hoping to swap mine over and pay the differance for the calipers and get some DBA slotted rotors with decent pads, probably from Race Brakes or somewhere similar
  18. Is it under any sort of warranty? Surely Turbo Tune is in the wrong if they had not long done the 100,000km service. Maybe they didn't change the timing belt? I have spoken to a guy that had the same thing in his R33 - result = new engine needed, it was completely stuffed internally
  19. I'm looking at replacing my front rotors and calipers with those off a R33 GTS25T. Has anyone done this before? I have heard they bolt straight on, and apart from a brake bleed/fluid, all should work just fine? Cheers, Chris
  20. Ok will do. I will also keep a eye out for another set, if you get these other ones. The kart that I have is a Omega Racing kart, bought it for $50!!!!!!! Has a 100cc engine, spare set of tyres, new chain and sprocket. Started it up last night, needs some fresh fuel and a clean etc. I'll take a few pics and send them to you. Looks like we have hijacked this thread - whoops
  21. Yeah, I think they are reasonably hard to come buy I will send Martin a PM to see what he thinks Chris P.S - got myself a kart on the weekend, a bit rough, but it will do for a bit of fun. I guess you'd be a good person to speak to if I need to get parts for it?
  22. Don't know all that much about them myself. I remember a article in zoom about John from Tilbrooks RB20 Commodore. It said that he had got hold of some 1Jvvti injectors, which were a straight fit apart from the plug needing to be changed. From memory, they were 420cc, so they would be good for a every day car, with the ability for around 250rwkw I suppose Just need to know from Martin if this is correct, and I might try and get some.
  23. Martin, ATM my car is running 1bar boost, and last dyno made 200.3rwkw. It was tuned by yourself at tilbrooks earlier this year I am quite happy with this, but want to go a bit further with my HKS 2510 turbo to try and keep up with a few mates which are developing their R33's further. My qusetions are, with a Bosch 040 in tank pump and no regulator, what are the stock injectors good for? Also, what boost could I run (max) with the tune you did. I was thinking of going for 1JZ VVTI injectors, similar to what John from tilbrooks did with his RB20 Commodore. I don't really want to put a reg. on the stock injectors, as the car is driven quite hard and would like some safety margin there. And would the stock computer be able to run these as good as the factory injectors? I'm hoping for around 220rwkw which will hopefully see me keep up with my mates in there big turbo'd R33's cheers, Chris
