  6. i ve been doing alot of lookin and not a lot of buyin when it comes to a computer for my rb20. i have had mixed results with asking questions. i have been told a power fc is the only way to go but since they are incredibly rare i will be waiting around for one to come up for sale which is no good as i have a turbo arriving shortly. can some people with good knowledge of computers give me some advice which might help me out and what are the better alternatives that are out there and my car will have approx 250 rwkw.
  7. the hks gtrs is the best option in my opinion , it will give u around 220rwk and be a very responsive turbo. going to much bigger in my opinion makes it useless on the street.
  8. this is an old thread but still got the computer i have a standard computer and air flow meter i can send

  11. everything else that was defected a had an engineers certificate for so they bloke just ticked them off on the engineers advice. there was nothing to dodgy about the guy i went to is he really going to try and test whether the bolts where in properly when the car is red hot he would have had burns from a$$hole to breakfast, but indeed he didnt even look in the engine bay he stamped the notice too 18.20 off me and sent me on my way,
  12. need a front right headlight for a 32 pm me or send me a msg on 0412417830
  13. high temp silicon done the job i m stoked and they have been in there for the past couple weeks whilst the car has been driven END OF STORY:)
  14. alright ppls and no its not the driver to the person that said that i have full points and one speeding fine which was in my mums for KA when i first got my licence cops in newcastle dont muck around they out defecting every weekend. since there snapped off inside the holes i have got new bolts which are going to be cut down and i m going to machine them at work so they fit nice and tightly and fill the hole with high temp silicon and let it mellow for a day to go off properly. this stuff is good for 300 degrees it works best when creates a seal i ma boilermaker and we use this stuff on flanges on sites and its a real bastard to remove them cos its sticks real well. i understand the manifold is going to be hotter then that but i can only hope that it will hold. i m hoping who ever blue slips it looks and sees the new bolts and says ok thats very nice then they can tick off the other defects with my engineers certificate which this workshop does wish me luck ppls
  15. i got pulled and defected oh wonderful 3rd time in the last 6 months i got done for all the usuals which i can get cleared the one that has stuffed me is they got me for missing exaust mainfold bolts.now since i m upgrading to a hks gtrs in the next 6 months i planned on fixing the snapped off bolts then when i take the other turbo off, but with limited funds atm i cant afford to do that. i need a QUICK FIX dodgy solution which will keep them in place for when i take it to get cleared. any ideas ppls that wont look too dodgy? and i thought i would add that i m only literally 1 min or so away from the place i get stuff cleared at so i m not ruling out superglue at this point or a lil bit of high temp silicon but the silicon may look a bit red hot. any ideas would be wonderful:)
  16. at the end of the day australian v8's arent built to go quick they are a zippy family car and that about it cos they are far to heavy. my rbo 20 pulled 150rwkw which is f*k all really and i havent had any get away from me. dont no about the new ones havent really been near any but hold some hope for v8s of the future as they were able to pry themselves away from the primitive idea of push rods and single cam. for the record i hate v8's but if they were smart enough to turbo or supercharge there v8s then different story N/A isnt the greatest concept for going quick. i dont no many v8's that are going to beat a 32 lightest of all skylines that have 220 rwkw. i pay the man with the comment atleast your not driving a holden:)
  17. grab the shaft and wiggle it there is normally always a little bit of movement but as long is it is minimal. check the condition of the blades make sure they havent got any chips or marks on them and check if they are all straight and not bent. check for any stains near the bearing housing from water. just in general make sure that is is clean looking and been stored in an appropriate place.
  18. car wouldnt be hydrolocked if u spilt fuel in there and left it for a few days it should evaporate anyways
  19. mate you would want to be sending the lines and your missus for that price
  20. they are a pretty hardy engine the 20's so i think youll be pretty safe with a second hand one. i got respect for them as my mates jumped 9 teeth in total on the cam gears we went to start it hearing the valves smashing around . we took the head off and seen bash marks in the pistons. we went over the head when we removed it and the valves werent even bent dont ask me how that is possible it was something u had to see to believe. when we ripped everything apart the condition of everything was extremely good considering the hard life it had. we chucked another head on the car anyways cos we thought it was f*kd when we heard the bashing. put it all back together with the bashed pistons and the rest car still runs like a dream:) btw we are somewhat dodgy backyard mechanics(cables ties are our best friend) wish u luck with the next engine mate.
