  1. Well the R32-R34 GTRs came on Potenzas from the factory right? So knowing you, you'll want something as close to original as possible I've had RE001 Adrenalins before in both 17" and 18" sizes; was pretty happy with them and they were great value vs. the old S-02s / S-03s I think.
  2. Nice one Bob, looks great. Last thing you want on a Sydney to Melbourne trip is some annoying noise! Latest EVO (UK) tyre test rated the Conti Sport Contact 3s the best amongst the test group, followed by Hankook Ventus S1 Evos, then Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2s. Followed by Michelin PS3, Pirelli P Zero, Bridgestone Potenza S001, Dunlop SP Sport Maxxx GT, Vredestein Ultrac Cento, Kumho KU39 Le Sport and Accelera PHI, in that order.
  3. Great collection guys
  4. Gday Is this stock? Or what mods has it had done to it? Do you have any service history or documents from Japan such as auction papers to substantiate the mileage? Cheers Matt
  5. Still had a great run around the river back down old northern rd through the gorge and up the freeway to mangrove to catch up with the rest of the crew, made good time and wasn't dependent on ride height
  6. I couldn't take any photos because I was either too busy talking, handing out maps, or turning up late everywhere on the day! But that's what a couple of us were worried about, we saw a few cars about our ride height make it ON the ferry ok, but had no idea what it would be like on the other side. Would've had to catch the ferry back to the south side again and then reverse off it!
  7. So that red 34 = non GTR? I'd love to take a close look at a proper red BNR34. So rare. One shot I took on the way home...
  8. Haha yeah very different machine... but yeah it's like the same budget was spent on engineering both cars, but in completely different ways The thing is sooo relaxing to drive to work in and really does have plenty of go regardless of its heft. The VANOS on the later '99+ models definitely helps. Due to the great soundproofing (incl double glazed as per your 740) you appreciate the stereo that much better too. At first the blokes at work couldn't believe I could afford it, then they couldn't believe how little I paid for it (and I paid more than you're selling yours for Jamie), it really does look like a much more expensive car than what it is; which is not why I bought it, I've just always loved the E38 shape, but it has dated very well, much better than I think the E65/66 has and will in future.
  9. Did the exact same thing, flew down to Melbourne, picked up a car and drove it back to Sydney. Helps to know someone who can do blue slips, but it was definitely worth it either way Exact same car I bought as well! No regrets.
  10. The yellow comes across as really bright/strong in all the photos I've seen of yours so far = good as it sounds like it hasn't been left out in the sun to fade and she's been looked after. I'm interested to hear the verdict when you take it to Eugene on the paint thickness
  11. Thanks Alex, same. Sorry we kind of took off in a hurry from Wisemans. Did you guys have to wait long for food? Will take a closer look at yours and talk longer next time hopefully!
  12. Never mind mate I read too much into your reply. I was looking a bit closer at linnerstons first pic
  13. Haha just noticed both the blokes' faces
  14. SICK
  15. Gotta love the subtle reflections of the owner Nice car mate!
  16. Hell yes mate, that looks brilliant! From a photographic POV it would've been good to get some forced fill-in flash on your rims from the LHS especially for shots #1 and #3 IMO. But as far as the car goes, it looks insane! well done. All you need to do now is spend some $$$ on your driveway so you can drop it a bit more
  17. ARC Box...
  18. Love the bridge closeup Matt and congrats once again on the Zen Garage opening last Thurs. If anyone is in the Leichhardt area they should go check it out. http://zengarage.com.au/2012/02/zen-garage-gallery-opening-night/
  19. Might be in for this one, it's back towards old my stomping ground so there's another excuse if any were needed
  20. It was great to see the regulars as well as meet so many people - Mick, Mick's dad, Michael and his mate, GTR32X, Alex Although we couldn't get on the Ferry properly Michael's silver weapon of an R33 and my car had a fun little 80km detour to meet up with the rest at Mangrove Sorry we left a few back at Wisemans but I think everyone still had a good time. Looking forward to pics
  21. Your car looked awesome today Aaron. Rate the combo of 19" SL's and the white colour, at that ride height.
  22. Price for the shaft sounds about right, but the shipping is a bit ridiculous
  23. Yeah hopefully the weather holds up, should be good for the meetup and the first few hours at least but there could just be isolated showers in the arvo. Dave, no probs, welcome to ride shottie if you want
  24. Kristian - any update on this mate?
  25. As mentioned, SAU has not had issues with official cruises before. Even non-official ones that have been organised by SAU people are relaxed, sensible days out. It's why we organise other events off public roads such as the Texi's throughout the year and trackdays at Wakefield Park, etc, so that if anyone feels like doing any benchmark testing of their vehicle it's done there, not on a public road. No word of a lie, if someone in the group turns up and insists on behaving like a loon and drives outside the scope of the law we will have no hesitation in separating ourselves from said person. They are no longer part of the SAU group and will take responsibility for their own driving behaviour. It'll be a great day, looking forward to it
