Ive never driven a r33 so dunno about it but ive driven a r34 4dr auto before and at it wasnt a slug. The neo engine is quite pokey and it did get up and go for an auto. I think they have more power than the r33 rb25 from factory. I do have to say tho, the triptronic was a dog for giving it stick. Very unpredictable on what gear it wanted to be in. You can see how people can loose control of the car with a auto.

Yer i would try it first coz the ecu is proberly cutting the fuel out having higher boost. Get yrself a stage 3 chip in the ecu to eliminate the default fuel, speed, revs, boost cut out. Ecu chips arent expensive and they will make the car perform better.

Apart from a couple of clowns at the end, it was a good night last night. The last leg was a great cruise being a long run. Well done to Olivia and Sami for there time and effort in planning to have this event happen every first tueday of each month. Your planning of mapped routes are excellent and i think everyone very much enjoys the courses you create. Think need to avoid under ground car parks tho.... QUOTE (Neuroglider @ 4 Aug 2009, 07:24 PM) lol good fun that cruise was... i passed both the v8eaters on way home (i honked ^_^) and the 33 gtst 4 door hahawas like 'are those skyline lights?! OMG SPEED UP!' zooooom lmaogood fun heh HAHA Ya hoon

Sounds like coilpacks or a ignitor within a coilpack. Check wiring harness and connections for both, coilpacks and injectors aswell. The only other things that it may be is a shitty injector.

R34 Intercooler Help Please
payback21 replied to r34_sonicsilver's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Proberly not but putting a bigger intercooler on it will give you better air flow and pickup. I would recommend it! It all depends on weather you want it to remain stock or not. -
Yer i would of thought that. Using the stock posstion is good. You will need the plum back pipe from the bov to the intake in front of the turbo other wise yes it will run like a dog. Ive tried this trick once before on my old RB20 and it didnt like it at all. Hooked the bov back up with plum back pipe, all good again. I would stay with the origanal bov or do a search on ebay for a aftermarket one with plumback support.

Help With Engine/tune And Just Plain Dramas
payback21 replied to JET-25L's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I recently had a problem with a intermitant miss happing for about 2-3 min while driving and then it would disappear. After changing coilpacks, checking pulgs, wiring etc it turned out to be the ignitor. I changed it and my problem was solved. As you may already know that the s1 rb26 have a external ignitor that can be changed but with yours being a s2 33, changing the coilpacks is your answer. The only reason why i could see yours failing would be that they are overheating while your giving it a hard time. I would leave the center rocker cover out to disperse the heat better. I picked up a set of yellow jacket coilpacks from Paul @ Performance Wise. $370/set http://www.performance-wise.com/ Yellow jackets are half the price of splitfires and i recommended them as it did make my car run much smoother and rev better. Hope you find your answer! -
R32 Cutting Out Sometimes After Warmup?
payback21 replied to GoodOldR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I recently had a miss problem that ive solved. Ended up being the ignitor. The miss was intermitant and would last for about 2-3 mins and then come back to life running normally on all cycl. Changed ignitor, problem sorted for me! Hope it may be of some help for you. -
Need Help With A Problem With My Gtr.
payback21 replied to Gtir-keiron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well ive driven the car around all weekend and its all good now. Changing the ignitor was the answer to fixing my problem. Hope you can source what the problem is with your car. Its just a matter of changing things, testing things and eliminating each thing as the cause of the problem as you go along. I hope you can crack it! -
Need Help With A Problem With My Gtr.
payback21 replied to Gtir-keiron's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My GTS4 with the rb26 in it has got a miss that im trying to nut out at the moment too. Just a intermitent miss were there car would drop a cyl and stay like that for a period of driving for about 2-3 mins and then it would come back to life firing on all cyl. WEIRD!!! Ive just recently changed my coil packs to yellow jackets so it aint that and ive check wiring harness for coil packs, all good and also the sparkies. The one thing i have done different so far is changing the ignitor to another one as a test. Since doing this last night and driving the car today, everything is sweeeeet. Well so far. I will keep ya informed on how it goes over the weekend as i keep driving it. It was most of the time when you drove the car it would miss so hopefully changing the ignitor is the answer. It may be the answer for you. Will keep ya posted! -
I will be there. Wana take the car for another cruise before i go down to bunno for the members cruise. Got a miss im still trying to solve with the car. Should be good as before.

Max Boost For Rb20det With R33 Turbo?
payback21 replied to Stunn-R's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As Allen has already said, i ran 18psi with a stock turbo when i had the rb20 in and it was fine. When i had the cheap manual boost control in before changing over to a blitz electronic bc, boost didnt come on as strong. I totally recommend you go with a electronic boost controller if you crank the boost higher than std. I found that going with the electronic bc, gave better boost without spikes happening. You can change all sorts of settings to get a better response. Im suprised it never went bang considering i use to give it a hard time. I think you will be oright! -
Either way, im still happy to go out for a burn no matter what time or week it is.

Hey Peoples, Cruise was tops. Nice mapping there Olivia and Sami. Good straight line runs everywere. Next one should be good. Thanx again!
-
Yep will be there. First cruise with the rb26 in. Should be good!

Hey Fellas, The job went pritty straight forrward with the help of my good mate Allen. Everything from the the front cut pritty well fell into place for the GTS4. Im very happy with how it all went. Just got to replace the twin front pipes to 3" instead of 3 1/12" and shes ready for a cruise and dyno run. Ive got some other bits and pieces to tweak the girl up too, so i cant wait. Feel like taking it for another rap around the block with the exhaust off. Its nice weather for it.
