  1. Today @5.00pm saw a Dark Blue S1 on NarreWarren Nth.rd. waved but no answer ...
  2. Mine used to be noisy until it blew, maybe it wasn't very healtfull when i got the car and the boost controller just shortened it's life, the problem was the bearings;when you checked the shaft play ,did you spin the blades?listen carefully any strange noise is a sign of wearing as well as not spining smoothly. Hopefuly for you is just a noisy turbo.Do you have a 3" s/s.dump pipe ?pod filter? those two really amplify the sound of the turbo... When mine died a got it hi flowed more power & more lag ,but looked like the best option for me ,price rate is beetwen 1000 and 2000 dollars depending who does it ,plus labor...check my thread to get an idea...
  3. I 'm runing stock ecu, installed and SAFC2 couple of months ago(never tuned),now it feelslike "why in the name of...I didn't buy a nistune in the group buy?????" but, never wanted to hi flow /upgrade turbo...until stock failed,so I had two roads, buy a second hand stock one or hi flow decided on hi flow because they gave me one year warranty(you never know about second hand turbos...) and just to clarify QW32, the current mods are:HDI boost controller @12 psi , Xforce 3" dump/front pipe, Catco cat ,Fujitsubo legalis catback and Apexi pod filter... Mine is a 1999 RS4V so it's single turbo RB25DET NEO engine de only stagea with twins is the 260RS wich has a RB26DETT engine...
  4. After a week of driving the car,it feels a bit slugghier than it use to be(bigger steel alloy turbine)so I need to change my way of drive . Now the interesting bit, this morning took a bloke that works with me for a spin around the block where I work, the stag was in auto ....pedal to the metal ,it took of 1 to 1.5 secs after, got in boost and SPINNED THE WHEELS , man this is going insane never imagined to burn rubber on the stag (and only on 12 psi with basic mods...). Very happy with the power figures of the Hiflowed turbo... Now I want MORE.... (a very special thanks to stao from Hypergear)
  5. Bentwagon is right..it's like a magnifying glass ,but to widen your view(sort of rear view camera fron the past)seen some in some old taragos...and found it in one mag(sorry for the pic my scanner is desconnected)
  6. To remove the turbo was ,very easy, much easier than installing the SS.dump pipe ,the six bolts that hold the dump are going to be replaced (10.85 for 4 bolts and 2 studs with nut)I will need to retap one of the threads of the turbo ;easy to do ,24 mm. water lines were easy so I think the hardest part was all the pieces I took ...so yep excited to put the turbo back and see the increase in boost( Tao at Hypergear hiflowed it )so after that need to save money and get the timing belt change done(hard to save money thinking all the mods that can help the new turbo)Tao told me that with the right mods it can run 250Kw. to the wheels...tempting very tempting (where do I sell a kidney?)
  7. Now turbo is out and just waiting for it to come from Hypergear...two question ;can I reuse the T3 gasket? and how tight do the bolts that hold the turbo to the mani should be?they were nearly hand tight when i took them... Thanks...
  8. Hi,guess this been asked before,but...i'm about to install my turbo back after being hi flowed,so the question is how tight do the bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold should be? when took them aout they were nearly hand tight... Thanks for any help that you can give me(BTW any advise would be welcome...
  9. Thanks, for all the answers...though that the water/oil lines were the difficult part as I already changed my dump pipe so the main difference are the 4 bolts holding the turbo. It really happens in a bad moment ,I need to get the 100000 Ks. major service and the brakes(started to get parts to do the R33 swap) Every thing happened at the same time...but think that turbo is first cause I feel like driving a vacum cleaner...and all the options but short of cash(get an R34 turbo, send mine to be fix,pry and wait until somebody gets rid of a hi flowed/hi performance one at acheap price)...
  10. Need to change my turbo,so, can it be done DIY style? Is it only the 6 bolts on the dump pipe, the 4 bolts grabing the manifold, the 2 oil lines and the oil dump pipe? Any piece of advise will be welcome...
  11. Hey,Chef ,I had the same doubt as you so my cheap ass solution was the ACL heat shield, still hot around but not direct radiant from my Xforce ss dump pipe, did it about 8 months ago ,so far so good ... Cost me $45 +$5 on ss ties, you can see it in the second pic ...
  12. Spotted a silver s2 on Nepean hwy.(near Southland SC.) heading south @4 pm...just saw you for a second...
  13. NIce want to see how it looks...put mine but it looks more damaged than out of the car...and feels small...
  14. How did you connect the triple cluster?do they have any connection that fit straight up?
  15. Think you may be right in this one, thinking about it when i put the dump pipe , forced a bit to make it fit ...guess now it could had damage something with the time...need to go to a mechanic ...but i'm lazy ,with little time and money
  16. That FMIC looks perfect, did you have to cut the reo?or do any other "adjustment"?
  17. Thanks,Scott, but the bloody thing omly happens when it's cold ...after a while sounds normal
  18. Got the stag a little treat, off a R34 ,has a couple of marks and it's a little bit worn...but it's momo cannot see the moment to put it...
  19. Today I took the intake pipping to check if there was any play in the turbo's shaft and found nearly no play just a 1/2 mm. back and for but nothing sideways... So,no smoke ,no oil leak *to the ouside of the turbo and no play just teh bloody metallic noice ... *found some oil inside the pipping that goes to the SMIC and the pipping going to the throttle ,is that normal?
  20. Man...so many stags across the road of my place and never seen one I must be going blind...
  21. Checked my oil and it's a bit black not as golden as when i put it...Is that bad or common?(Changed oil in my cars before but never checked the color after...)
  22. Not really after the oil change ,I did it about a month ago or a bit more(Old stuff was black and Thick) and replaced it with Motul turbolight 4100 10W40 and RYCO Z442 oil filter... Now it happens when the car is cold ,if I accelerate a couple of times it goes away but still there a bit...
  23. yes,that's what is happening...
  24. Yesterday after work ,my car made a metallic noise ,and boost didn't go over cero after driving a bit more noise went away and boost was back,so I though that was it just a mere boost drop. But this morning it happened again, noise ,no boost but no smoke or anything else and after 2 minutes all normal...but when i put my ear next to the pod i still can hear a metallic hsssss.so the louder noise looks to happen when car is cold Now,that this mean my turbo is going to die?what could I espect to happen? (I was thinking to do the 100000 Ks. service myself but now...) My car is a 1999 S2 Stagea RS4V usually I run 10 psi of boost now I put it down to 7psi.(BTW miss wants to kill me for play with the boost) and I just put Motul 4100 (I know CHeap ass of me)around 1000 Ks ago...
  25. Thanks, for so many answers,I feel a bit stupid after ages of read about the brakes ,didn't know that rear ones had that tread...
