  1. my company like a few others out there pay minimum wage, wen i was 1st year i got $6.90 after tax was about $230 a week (1st year is 6months) 2nd year i got $8.90 which was like $320 a week after tax, now im third year on $12.50 on about $440 a week after tax, soon ill be fourth year on $14 something an hour which will be just over 500 a week, thats all just a 40 hour week tho, i try and work saturdays and a bit of OT to clear 600 a week. tradies in our workshop are on a min of 25 a hour, we work on mining equipment tho. btw i think apprentice wages have gone up like 50cents (big woop) an hour or something, + u get a few bonus's of like 500 wage top up each year. dont get me wrong u can be on more but, some guys in my tafe class are on like double then me if more then that, but no penalties. so yeh pretty shit for apprentices unless ur up north, thats where i plan to do my time wen im a tradie or atleast over 18, shud be raking it in up there actualy propably not due do this gay financial crisis bullshit

  3. im a red P plater, got mi license 3 months ago, how much demerit points do i have? is it 6 or 12? i got flashed on a 70km road doing about 100 over give or take, as i was slowing down, didnt see it at all, the jellyback was walking round his car at the time it didnt click to me, then i got flashed, i thought it was a bright sun reflection in my eye then i looked bak and was like ohhhh ffs. how much do u recon the fine will be? hopefuly mum or dad can take the points and i pay the fine, anyways im off to morley go get a whistler pro78.
  4. by redline i mean 7grand. btw wat would my rev limiter be?? and i assume it will be the same in neutral as well as all the gears except 5th coz of the factory speed limiter ? id rather ask these questions then just floor the living shit out of my new car

  6. i bought my 1st skyline a week ago (stock 1996 r33 gts-t). i came from a mazda eunos 30x which i still got, so the difference between the 2 is still pretty big although i havnt driven the mazda in like a week. when i 1st drove my skyline i thought f**k me this is quick, it was quicker then mi dads stock auto vx commo and it was a manual which made it feel quicker and funner to drive. now wen i drive it, it just doesnt feel 'quick' anymore, i dont know could it be the clutch? i mean i have been kicking it around corners quite a bit, how do i test if its slipping? or have i just been bitten by the modification bug. or could i be i filled up a tank using 95/96fuel, ok i know i didnt WANT to put it in but the boss owed me some petrol money and his fuel card was only for this station which didnt have 98RON fuel and i didnt wna sound like a fussy cnt, used 2 tanks of 98 since. could it just be that im not driving it hard enough? i mean in the vx when i plant my foot, it drops back a gear and redlines the gears, but in my skyline wen i wna go fast i usualy take the revs to 5000 or 5500 it still gives power after that i just dont wna kill my engine. how hard do u guys drive ur cars? if i redline the gears ocasionaly (only a few times a week for example) will my car still love me in a years time? also 1 other thing, this has happend to me a few times, wen i rev it and drop the clutch from a stop, 1st gear spins like crazy and mi rpm shoots up quickly, so i go to change to 2nd but it didnt engage properly so it reved hard, it hapens so quickly that i automaticly change into 3rd and does the same thing i then i ease off accel and drive off nomally in 3rd, at 1st i thought i f**ked mi clutch but i think it just didnt pop into gear properly even tho i threw it in there prety hard. does this happen to any1 else or do i just need to throw it harder into gear wen im reving her hard
  7. ive got a stock r33 gts-t and looking to get a bit more power + sound, im thinkin a 3.5inch system, sounds a bit overkill but id like to go for 300rwkw down the track. so im thinking of going for a big hiflow cat over a gutted stock one for legal reasons, so question is wats the diameter of the stock one, and also the dump pipe (which is the one comming from the turbo to the cat right?) so is it possible to keep the stock dump pipe(reason for this is wen i upgrade my turbo, ill need to change it agen right? if i go for a bigger turbo, something to handle 250-300rwkw) and can i go into a 3.5inch cat with an adaptor or something? if im not making sence, i want a 3.5inch system, but also save money at the same time, hence the reason i wna keep the stock dump, so i dont have to buy another 1 later on, and i heard cats restrict the rb25 alot and i heard the 3inch highflows are shit, so i wna find a less restrictive one, would a 3.5inch highflow metal cat flow good? if not wat brand/size do u guys recomend for a 3.5inch system can someone point me in the right direction please, im new to the modification scene.
  8. yeh spose i should only go for an ecu or remap if i need to, example if i wna do injectors, afm, oil pump, fuel pump, and all the rest to prepare for 300kw when mi std turbo shits itself. and i better remember a clutch too. so plans atm is wait till i got some money, go for around 200kw and then do supporting mods to handle around 300kw, when the std turbo shits itself, get a bigger aftermarket one, maybe some cams, wind up the boost, and go for a safe street tune of about 250kw but capable of 300, (if everything goes to plan which it never does) haha i love this car so much, i was cruising at about 80 on an 80km road, in mi mirror i see this bf xr6 turbo hammering it prbly 120 or more then gets into the left lane to pass me, as he gets closer i just plant my foot in 5th, he prety much stayed a car length behind me up until like 160k's when he turned off. btw how fast are these 33's stock, any1 know a rough quarter mile time? would it beat an ls1 commy? or a 5litre atleast? stock i mean
  9. hey i bought my first skyline 2 days ago, its pretty much 100% stock, i f*kin loooove it. i actualy never drove a skyline before and didnt even take this one for a test drive ! so when i drove it home from the dealership i was surprised, much faster then i expected. comming from a mazda eunos 30x (1.8ltr v6) the differnence is just unbelieveable. the only mods i plan on doing is just to let the engine breathe, and help the cooling system as its f**kin fast as it is, i got a clean 1996 series 2, gts-t manual with 91,000km's <---numbers are perfectly straight (NOTHING SUS !) im just waiting on mi side skirts to be fitted and the kit to be sikaflexed. the only down side is the negative attention it attracts, when i gave mi boss's son a quick squirt in it for 2 minutes down the street, we got pulled over, im thinking is it just the car or a combo of a red P plate, and a skyline with a bodykit. this was the first and only cop ive seen in this car, and they pulled us over, they acutaly went out of their way to follow us, and do a 'random check up' they say because the car is still in the workshops name (havnt paid for transfer papers yet) but still wat a surprise to type the skylines rego plate in the computer out of the other 50 motorists on the road at the time, but owell cops were nice and let the boss's son off for driving with P plates. and another incident which happend today, i went to a mates house to take him and his bro for a drive around the block, not being stupid, we drive up this street, some chick is out the front of a house, and just normally mi mate checks her out, doesnt say nothing, doesnt even stare just a simple look at her, look back to the road (this may have caused the incident i dont know) so we go up the street, and see a dog chucking a shit which was a few houses up (yes we have small attention spans) so i go down the street do a u-turn and go back down the street, on the way down the street, the boyfriend of the chick comes out on the road, driving about 20k's i drive around him casualy as i look at him hes mouthing off at us, i think wtf? just keep driving to my mates house to drop them off, look in mi mirror, this bunky truck is comming close to mi car, pulls up, while hes in his car hes like, WTF IS UR PROBLEM U LITTLE flamin mongrelS, were all like wtf did we do? so he gets out of his car, comes over, i wasnt realy in the mood to catch a fist in mi face so i just drove off, he tried to chase us but a skyline vs a bunky truck, he had no chance. but seriously wtf was his prob? juelous a 17yr old can afford a better car then him? but anyway back to the point when i have enough money ill do the following -radar detector (will spend around $500, can any1 recomend any? + its ok they are legal in WA as far as i know) -tinted windows -about $3000 worth of rims and tires -less restrictive exhaust, probably 3 1/2 inch -fmic -some sort of cold air intake + pod -aftermarket ECU (wat do use recomend, im thinking wolf 3d as i saw it looks exacly like factory so will prbly pass pits if i ever need to?) -and prbly replace oxygen sensors and get a tune for more k's to a tank EDIT: forgot to metion i gota small problem, when braking to a stop (wether it be from 100k's or 50) when its comming to a stop i get this jutter, the best way to explain it is if uve ever rode a push bike with a slightly bent rim, and the brake pads rub slightly for a split second as the wheel spins around, i dont know much but im thinking mayb mi rotors are warped and need machining?

  11. not for long, these are the last of the stock they got before the dollar went to shit, so ppl looking to buy imports from dealers shud buy up now. ive spoken to a few dealers and they're not getting any more 33's in anytime soon coz the price will be too much for wat the car is

  13. wat about that silver series II they got? oh wait thats mine , i was supposed to pick it up yesterday but had no plates, monday i shud have it. autoworx has great cars for great prices, DC imports down the road had series II's for around $15 - 17grand but then again they were clean as f**k, 97 models with 70,000km's on the clock. but a 96 model 90,000km for 12grand was more affordable wen u add insurance and all the rest, even that was pushing mi budget.
  14. yeh the r34 is still slightly out of my price range if i wanna get insured... +im trying to trade mi car into a dealer coz i wanna turbo so badly now, driving the 280hp manual silvia was f*kin awsome, i love the feeling of boost kicking in at 3-4000revs, im not even thinking of buying an ss commo anymore. ill prbly go either a stock 33 for low 10's from a dealer and trade mine in, or buy a modified 33 privatly and just sell mi car after. im getting so excited about owning a turbo import i cant sleep at night haha

  16. im buying from a dealer so i can trade in my car, the cars im interested in is a late 1997 manual r33 gts-t and a 1998 tiptronic r34 gt-t. the 33 is $16,000 and the 34 is $18,000. the r34 is pushing mi budget tho. we went for a drive in the 34, (i wasnt loud to drive it) it was smooth but not a quick as wat i thought (i drove a 280hp silvia the day b4 it felt nothing like this) so about the cars r33- late 97 model, manual, turbo, 2 door, 110,000km's (hasnt dont 100k service), cat back exhaust, 33gtr spoiler, front bar, side skirts, other then that STOCK r34- 98 model, auto, turbo, 2 door, 120,000km's (done 100k service), sunroof, normal looking gt-t with spoiler, STOCK ok so i love the look of the r34 in white, but i dont like the auto (dealer recons he does manual conversions for $3,500) the 34 has a ceremic turbine wheel (is this right?) which means if i mod it later ill need to upgrade? or will i have to upgrade the 33 one aswell. im trying to work out how ill go in the long run too, (modifying it, and reselling it wen i have to) so wat would use do, are the autos realy that gay, will the 34 be too expensive to manualize and modify in the long run? (remembering imo wen it comes down to looks the 34 wins hands down) EDT: im not looking to highly modify my car wen i get 1, as i said i drove a manual silvia with around 200rwkw. i would be more then happy with that power (maybe a tad more coz the skylines a bit heavier)

  19. well im looking at buying a silvia, most of the nice ones are running external gates. is there any point hiding them? abviously the coppa will know you got 1 just from the sound but if he cant see it and its hidden by bolted down panels and stuff can he still get you for it? how bad are the fines? i heard its classified as having no cat, so it can be a fine of like 10grand. and if you got 1, wat can u do to pass it over the pits, change the whole exhaust manifold and turbo? then u wud need a new tune and end up costing an arm and a leg. and if u get caught with 1, do u get the fine on the spot or do they give u a few weeks to get rid of it and take it over the pits? so wat i dont get it why so many street cars are running external gates risking like a 10grand fine... i must be missing something here
