  1. also. have they had much experience with 26's? just don't want any more problems after this
  2. thanks cactus can u pm or post up how I can contact your old man. cheers
  3. I didn't insist on anything, I've seen cars put straight on a dyno after an oil change and straight to a track after an oil change. I drove it as I would any other day and waited 15 minutes as it idled and drove 5 minutes slowly drive below 2k rpm to warm it up before I gave it some.
  4. it was the first time for me changing the oil since i've owned the car, when taking the old filter out the oil seemed thicker than the HPR-10. So maybe there was an underlying issue with the engine possibly being hidden by the thicker oil?.. The car was warmed for 15 minutes to let the new oil circulate after the oil change, then driven with some spirit with spurts to 6k rpm. Possibly the lower oil level meant the bottom end was starved of oil like you said. So any recommended builders? as per the previous post? and where to source parts for the build
  5. cant believe this s#&t..i had so many plans to do better things with the money! anyone recommend a good rebuilder in Perth? ive found a combo on ebay (eagle rods + wiseco pistons) for 1.3k delivered. Is that a decent price? What else will I be needing for a bottom end rebuild besides gaskets, bearings and machining the crank etc?
  6. Cheers for the advice guys, i've learnt my lesson. nobody except for trusted skyline mechanics are going to touch her from now on! What can i try in the meantime before I send her off for a rebuild..changing filter to nissan filter? any help would be appreciated.
  7. but the knocking is there now, so i guess the damage is done right? =(
  8. The apprentice mechanic who did the job did not check after it was cooled to ensure enough was in there. To my surprise i just checked and there is only half (halfway from low to high on the dipstick!)
  9. Thats it mate, it was a ryco one, I didn't think it would make a difference and bought the supercheap one, money definitely isnt a factor so ill be hitting my head agaisnt this screen if a 10 dollar filter is going to cost me a rebuild..!! The guy there sold me one and i went back as it didnt fit then he told me to use an sr20 filter. The sr20 filter got put on after the first one didnt fit but im not sure how good/bad it is to use on the rb26?
  10. I'll have to check when I get home, but It was purchased from super cheap auto.
  11. I just did an oil change and filter change, used Penrite HPR-10 and new oil filter. Shortly after, (a few drives of the GTR) and there is bottom end knocking. I don't know if the engine was old and the thin oil has let it go or the oil filter is causing it? What do you guys think? I'm obviously up for a rebuild of some sort now =(

  21. Selling my brothers R33 GTR Vspec, I initially imported it from Japan for my brother about a month ago but he is now going to work abroad for 9 months and would rather sell it to get another GTR when he gets back. The pics were taken when it was in Japan hence it does not look as clean as it is now. The car drives like a dream and doesn't miss a beat. Honestly probably the finest example of a 33 GTR I've had the chance to ride/drive. I haven't had a chance to check the turbo's but they may be highflowed or even a pair of larger aftermarket turbo's as it feels pretty quick for stock ones. Interested buyer may feel free to check. 1995 Model 40,000 KM's Spec List: Braking & Drivetrain: Vspec Brembo Brakes + Calipers 4x 18" White Volk/Rays Wheels Aftermarket Brake Booster OS Giken Twin Plate Heavy Duty Clutch + Lightened Flywheel Adjustable Coilover Suspension Engine: Cusco Engine Strut Brace Twin HKS Air Filters Greddy Intercooler And Piping ARC Oil Filter Relocation Kit ARC Oil Catch Tank ARC Oil Cooler Adjustable HKS Cams Nismo Radiator Cooler Plate Blitz Nur Spec 4" Full Exhaust System All Braided Oil Lines Uprated Nismo Fuel Pump 720cc Nismo Injectors Interior: Driver and Passenger Recaro Seats Twin Defi Gauges In A Custom A-Pillar Gauge Pod Defi Multi Link + Data Logger HKS EVC 3 Electronic Boost Controller (0.7 bar low/0.85bar high) Momo Steering Wheel Yoshio Factory Water Temp Gauge Sony MP3/CD Player Body: Nismo Bonnet Lip Nismo Front Bar Lip Nismo Rear Bar Nismo Clear Indicators Led Tail Lights Nismo Rear Strut Bar

    Rip Corey

Yeah, i just saw the thread.. sad that his life had to end so soon, he never did drink/drive or drove like an idiot. Was one of the most sensible drivers and he just bought his 33 not long ago. It's f**ked up that the papers never mentioned anything about him having to swerve for a pedestrian which was the cause of the accident.
