  1. Ok Rob Bliss will do a turbo back, high flow cat, 3inch for $1100 CES do a twin dump pipe, 3 inch system for $2k but they clain 32 rwkw gain with whole system. Big difference in price. Question is am I getting what I paid for ie is the CES system almost double the price because it gives much better kw gains? Oh decisions, decisions.
  2. Has anybody had dealings with them, if so were they good? I have been in contact with Trevor Campbell there and he said that for my stock 33gtst to get to 200 rwkw I would need a dif turbo. For $2k i get a twin dump pipe stainless steel 3inch system with hi flo cat @ 30 kw. For $5k i get that + FMIC 600x300 (they manu their own), malpassi regulator and boost controller @ 45 kw all up. For $10.5k i get all that + new turbo and PowerFC to take me to over 200 rwkw. How much do u think with all this? Does this sound reasonable prices and good upgrade path ie: 1. Exhaust 2. FMIC, regulator, boost 3. New turbo, PowerFC I guess @ $10.5K I'm almost getting into 'might as well sell ur gtst and get a 33 GTR territory'. Anybody know any good skyline performance people in Bris with good prices and rep? Any advice be good. Tar.
  3. doom9 goto Guides then DVD/miniDVD then DVD Backup
  4. you should be able to get a K&N cleaning kit from the same place you bought the filter from. I know Autobarn offered to order me one when I bought the filter not sure of the $ but think its less than the filter anyway. kits
  5. U Might be able to sneak in a 93 NA R33 auto for that much but more realistically you are probably looking at an R32 for that $. Unfortunately u cant have the $ advantage of importing either cos NA's cant be imported under the new SEVS scheme. So local and probably R32. If u find a R33 GTS that cheap you've got to be asking is there something wrong with it ie for $10k. R32GTS maybe with a T on the end also.
  6. did it actually go for that price? is there something wrong with it?
  7. i agree but seriously these guys are used car salesman I mean looked at the labels they give imported skylines at carpoint. Fake GTR's, "Silloutte" model R33's, its a dogs breakfast.
  8. woops loophole closed dam. Still think its to good to be tru maybe somebody here will know the car and tell us its history etc "These prices are supplied to CarPoint by third parties, and do not include dealer delivery, on road costs, insurance or any other extras. They may not include any applicable GST and are subject to change without notice. ninemsn makes no warranty as to the accuracy of the prices and accepts no liability for incorrect pricing information. The user is referred to the ninemsn Terms of use." HAHA lol yea if it scans at the wrong price u get it free. Guess we can keep dreaming :uh-huh:
  9. hope this hasnt been posted before apologies if so but i couldnlt resist... this can't be real can it????GTR?
  10. oh i c basically reduce what i said by 20kw Ah well guess itll still go pretty good... so I'm doing about 145 and thatll take me to bout 165. I'd really like to get to 200 well more importantly break into the mid 13's instead of 14's and under 6 secs. So long as i can beat some yuppie mid-life crisis spanker in his new wrx thinking he owns the road... Saw a totally black new HSV on the weekend with no. plate low 11 tended to believe to the way it sounded and accelerated - very aggresive. Think i'll need to save my pennys for a GTR to compete with a beast like that.. hey but at the end of the day its still a suped up taxi
  11. Don't worry SLY33 all is not lost. I read your post (had a spare 10 mins lol) and thought that it was all good. So standard R33 around 160 rwkw. Mine with turbosmart at 11 psi and full 3 inch system etc and K&N panel bout 180rwkw or maybe little more. I did reset the ecu but I think the peformance may have dropped. IE I drove it pretty nicely when it was relearning. Maybe I should reset it on a dry day and give it a good fang. Must admit my fuel economy is great (although i was driving a VL Commondore)
  12. ah ok so 11-12 psi is safe with that exhaust and k@n panel filter? 14 too much... what psi would other people recommend as i definately want a good performance vs reliability ratio...
  13. Just rang Jack Beedhams Theyll install a 3inch system good dump/down pipe, high flow cat and free flow muffler for $850 mild steel or $1050 stainless. + turbosmart to take me to 14psi for $150 all up $1000 or $1200... Is this a good deal - I know theyve got a good rep in QLD...
  14. Im in the same boat my gtst is almost factory stock. Those mods u listed what are the approx costs and rwkw gains from each of them? I'd like to mod but can't justify spending like $10k. Spending that much means I'm nearing the costs needed for a R33 GTR (dream car of course). So need to find a balance.
  15. yep thats the one just a reminder eh... ok well thats good in a way. Still a chance my car MAY have covered less than 100k... maybe yes but should get belt done to be on safe side anyways will do soon then
  16. yea read that in another forum bout the battery might take it out tommorrow (I did check while it was connected with a mirror but should have a proper look). The writing on the sticker is actually typing and is the same as the jap writing ie the sticker wasnt written on thats how it was originally. But now im thinking that even though the sticker is only a reminder that doesnt mean the car hasnt done more than 100k does it.. unless they rip it off during the service Guess I'll just have to rely on the cond of the car the evidence is a bit sketchy (unless the battery tells a story). Bastards i noticed another sticker on the inside of the bonnect something to do with radiator cleaning/coolant it showed approx 60k but the date had the year purposely ripped off...
  17. thats what I'm hoping for maybe someone can give me 100% yes or no maybe not
  18. the sticker is siting on the black plastic right at the front of the engine near the belts facing skyward... Interestingly enough my interior is great (still has a new car smell - that totally spins me out). Engine is clean and original and exterior is 95% spot on... Gear shift and steering wheel both have a little wear (looks like owner didint know how to look after leather) but nothing excessive. Pedals are worn but not much really probably 90% tread left on clutch pedal. Just wish i had some way of really knowing for my own peace of mind and to keep tabs on the timing belt issue etc
  19. Ok. My skyline has 60k on the clock and its a 95 yea sif thats genuine. austats says that av car in Japan does 10k per year. So my car would have done (on av) 80k. My clock has been wound back and has stopped + there is a knocking sound under the dash wheneva i start but goes away within 3 secs. Could the 2 be related? Final question I have a sticker right at front of my rb25det with 100,000 km on it and some jap writing. Is this saying yes we changed the timing belt at 100k or that the owner needs to change the belt at 100k. My concillation is the int, mech and ext are all good and motor runs nice. Hoping that at least because that sticker looks new that the timing belt change was recent. Or does that sticker just advise the owner to change it at 100k (hope so). Can anybody with that sticker confirm or deny???
  20. import under sevs there a few raws now with R33 compliance in aus. definately go the R33gtr
  21. I just did the same thing with a 1995 model. Very happy with it! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=22236
  22. Customs clearance took 1 week and compliance took 2 weeks. Yes the waiting is a killer but at the end of it i saved about $5000 compared to car yard prices and got a vehicle which looks and drives virtually as new. Its joy :alien:
  23. Thanks for the info Baboon. Not sure about any differences yet. After I first start my car is goes to about 1200rpm then settles itself down, even when hot outside. I think this is normal though. I also notice that when the car is idling it seems to ossilate the revs till it finds a nice idle ie round 700rpm. Mostly the first time you stop at lights for eg. I have noticed that I drove from Chermside (Northside Bris) to Lismore (NE NSW) on about 1/2 tank - I thought that was pretty good. As far as i can tell the engine is in nice tune the engine is quiet, no leaks and the exhaust is a nice black. The car seems to rev out freely with no flat spots noticeable. Although I havent taken it to its limit yet - been wet in Bris lately I dont wanna kiss a telegraph pole...
  24. Thanks guys... Guess i choose to ignore that comment. At the end of the day I'm still driving around Brisbane in the car I've been dreaming about for the past 3 months... I loves it! (Oh - and I reset the ECU all by myself LOL
