  1. if you want quality ring and aircon place,they dont charge as much as think,itl cost u bout 500 bucks to get someone to install what u choose,then choose price u can spend. u need a 1.5 or 2hp model do fine for that area,we have a daiken invertor 6.5 hp split system and it costs nothing to run and does my whole 4br house,so they come in all sizes and never heard they break down,done heaps research before purchase
  2. ok problem sorted got lever out,it was a dust cover or something,once off the circlips were easy to remove,on to playing with motor,thanks matty
  3. mine has circlips under a cap looking thing made of metal,which looks to be screwed on or something, just has marks on it like its been removed before,will try to take clips out first see how go
  4. sorry for thread but need to get answers ready to get motor out my 33(manual), anyone know which way the ring on top of gearbox holding the gear lever in, goes to do up and take out. need to take lever out gearbox to get motor out,let me know if any tricks or any areas to check thanks damo
  5. motor ready to take out,so went into car to take out gear lever(manual) and found its been taken out before,just finding the ring at top that holds it all down is stiff and wont move,which way does it turn and are any tricks to try to get out

  10. tint a car do a pretty good job,fairly cheap,will do any colour or shade u chose,there are a few around,use the yellow pages ring around

  15. yeah no detonation in 6 just bit more oily than others, looks to be no holes in block but will see after get motor out i guess, seems it may have been quick break, but we we also see,thanks guys i hope its not that bad either,give my a good reason for new rings etc maybe more,see what $ are like after xmas, thanks to you roo for coming over for our boys session,looks to be you help me i help you at moment, always cool, chat to you on wkend
  16. anyone got a engine hoist i can borrow,dont need straight away but may need to borrow for couple days to get motor out,then may need to borrow again for a couple weeks after that to put motor back in,got conrod to change on piston after motor cracked the shits other day pm me if anyone can help in any way
  17. ok guys went home then roo and i pulled half the motor apart and found what was wrong +1 turbo and wheel undamaged and in almost knew condition +1 timing belt and adjusters ok and also like new pulled off rocker covers and had good movement,cams in good condition with little wear,car has only 81,000km i suppose should be ok checked compression in pistons and found they have bout 150psi in 1-5 pistons then a big fat 0 in piston 6 then after inspection found conrod 6 is nacked as piston stuck on top dead center,was able to push down so isnt seized,know have the fun job off pulling apart to see how bad big fat - for my 1st turbo experience,is it easier to do in car or rip motor out ? id say out, ill need to borrow a hoist if anyone got one not using
  18. have they been caught,they should show us all their faces and let us know where they will be later on,i think there are a few boys out there that need to take out some frustration for this type of thing
  19. no wont start just turns over,motor has no strange noises out of it,no grinding etc,gonna check t/belt later just in case,then proceed to other areas
  20. yeah got hm by bout 730,gonna pull off t/belt cover etc tomorrow,come round if like have a suss,be hm round 5.
  21. when the noise happened under accelerating,it sounded to me like the noise started in engine bay then went under car,at 1st thought drove over rocks or something then realised that car wasnt working how should. after hearing how turbo wheel can blow through exhaust just seemed to make sense on noise,then who knows hey its stuffed eitherway
  22. thanks,may check t/belt 1st just to make sure,seems to crank over same,think,but after things break its easy to doubt what they sound like
  23. thanks will do,plan to pull pipes etc off and inspect t/belt by weekend,see what damage,if turbo damaged my upgrade to t3,see what story is 1st guess
  24. all pipes and hoses seem to be on,have no oil leaks etc,motor seems to have nothing missing or changed, after noises and fact that cant see anything on outside of motor,suspect that either t/belt snapped or turbo,really hard to think others
