  1. Hey funkybunky..whoops typo. Yeah I think you mean stags are great/glorified snowmobiles-correct they are and they can carry three slabs and a kitchen sink. A 33 four door N/A GTS4 is a great car with a 26 and front end conversion, Im just a bit biased to the styln compared tp 32's. The four door N/A R34 GT4 is also a very rare car. Again just my thoughts-no offense of course. Also I have been havn a good read of "Beer Baron's" Japan diary, a very good read in preparation for Japland next year!
  2. HKS, need I say more. I have this one with a NTK Lambda sensor and mild steel trust front pipe to a high flow metal cat and the rest is a silent exhaust. Be done with it, even if it costs u a bit more. My car was doing weird shit at idle until I changed the dump, lambda, did the aac valve and idle reset and changed the plugs and coilpacks with acouple of mates. Nengun is your friend $325 but they sting u for delivery and time. There is better quality out there and the topic of bellmouth to front or and the front/dump combo- you get what you pay for really. DIY bro if you are just replacing your dump easy once you get the heat shields off, tricky space for bid hands dudes ,need deep socket too also long nose pliers. Worth it. After a fresh 100k service ,new factory gasket kit, heavy duty belt, fuel pump, N1 water pump, plugs, fuel filter the bus was alot better, alot alot better. And I havent boosted up the car yet- im saavn for ecu &dyno time money atm or still opting to sell. Cheapish and good quality, good gaskets, no leaks and def do the O2 sensor and thats it.
  3. Hello, It was hard until u talk with the right people. If u are serious, i'll sort it for you. Watch out for dodgy aus based companies in -SA, Qld etc they should stick to commodores. Let me know.
  4. Ok, For those who dont like their roof racks. Gotta love Masa Motorsport, but hate the prices. Dont know what these cost, but I paid nearly $500 for a grille. I think darrinspencer was tryn to fabricate some on the cheap. If anyone is havn hassles ordeing parts I can point you in the right direction with sales and groupbuys. Cheers.
  5. This is a little off the subject although, Iv'e been talkn with the calaisturbo fellas and it makes me miss my old VL berlina turbo, second car I ever owned. Two cars I miss is my old LJ Torana XU-1 which my dad bought for me off my older bogan neighbour for $3300 bucks and taught me to drive. He then bought the berlina turbo not much later straight off the showroom floor in '88 at Brrian Gardner and handed it down to me 5years later, then I learnt a few lessons in driving! He has owned heaps of commondoors and still says to this day it was the best. Full luxary pack with calais functions, digital display, cruise control, early climate control etc. Little did I know these would have been worthwhile as keepers, hmmm...sigh. There suggestion was just build a nice berlina or calais wagon, forged, big high mount turbo and 6 boost mani and be done with grey imports. I have seen they are using alot of 25s and I have even seen people use the rocker covers from a 26 to disguise the RB30 in skyline GTRs. The only two holdens I ever loved. KiwiRS4T's RB30 build will be worth watchn for. Has anyone seen the Bresciani VL "PANIC"car over east do 8's on the quarter, it is phenominal. There suggestion just might be a good idea!
  6. Hey peeps, been lurking for a long time.. Id like to formally introduce myself my name is Jason from the quiet hills in WA. We have alot of windy and long roads where I live and I frequent holidaying down south and fly up north for work. So the stag was the perfect choice for me and my lifestyle. I have just finished a short contract for a mining company-not labourer but an IT dude and have started nightshift work..sucks! Anyhows I am quite knowledgable on the c34 series stags due to owning building and writing off another. Bought my first through FabCar near the river, which are rip off merchants-no offense of course. I am two thirds the way there to building a decent Series 1, but also wanting to opt out and upgrade to a M35. Parts, labour, time, stress and the skin off me knuckles always play a major part in me changing my mind with the car. One day I'll make up my mind. I also frequent Autosalon, Motorplex, Targa Rally, Barbagallow, Claremont Speedway and Ravenswood back in the day and the redbull air show and various concerts and sporting events in WA. Cars and bikes I have owned - CBR 250RR, Kawasaki Ninja 650R, LJ Torana XU-1, VL Berlina turbs, S13, GTiR and 2 S1 stageas. What can I say a Nissan man all the way, I think we all watched the Group A Bathurst wins in the early 90s where sixes where beating eights too easily. The only decent holden I owned was the LJ and I should of held onto it. So thats me in a nutshell. Cheers.
  7. Gotta love these rare kits on the Talow Car Season Stagea. Note the snowboard and roof rack skis holder-factory? I reckon for looks it rivals the S15, pity its not a Varietta. I suppose a drop top isnt good for snow season, lol. Tough but not too overstaded. With the small rims its obviously done some circuit battles. When I visit my sister next year in Osaka (Engrish Teacher), I will be hunting down some great rare parts at various events and JDM manufacturers.
  8. Yeah thats the one. Very confused with th V35 series. What type is used in the manual in the above pics? As time goes on the M35 is becoming older and more obtainable. I reckon masa motorsport or dolphin will have to obide by the ever growing customer wants. I have good contacts with them and might ask what is the go. I am quite biased because I have never wanted to own a skyline apart from a four door. There is one in WA with a 26 in it up for grabs that I am test driving 2moz, cheap as $13 000. RS4S are just too expensive in WA. It might sway me to the dark side. Although I think a R35 is probably unlikely for me, I might be able to afford a front cut in the near future. Never say never.
  9. And back on the subject. Getrag is right. Borg Warner and hollinger are good aswell. Supra 6 speed boxes are reknowned for toughness and reliability with drag apllications. My question is why did they not use a later V35 nissan box, I have heard the tiptronics are difficult to service and expensive to fix from the M35 boys-maybe why?
  10. Hey Kiwi, M35s are cheap as chips in the North island and this one isnt bad. Kiwis know how to build tuff cars overall. I have been to Nelson speedway for the grand nats-best night ever apart from the no alcohol rule! I visit the south quite often with me wifey as we have friends and reletives in Nelson and Dunedin. Why did they not use a manual from the V35/ VQ series parts 350z, skylinr GT etc? I am tryn to build a S1 around the likes of Tangles and your car, with a bit better styln. I reckon you did it a bit cheaper, but Tangles went all out. If you are chasing more power then you better open up the guts and forge that motor soon. I want to ask you some advice, I know you wrote off your first stag as I did! Is it really worth while building such a monster with a Series 1 or opt out of the endless money pit of the C34 and just go for a M35? I have to make a decision soonish the house is on the market, but I bought my second stag at $12 000 with 85ks on it with insurance, and have spent on the cheap ($9700) with half decent new and used JDM parts. Most are on the car but I still have to put more in with a mate thats a decent mechanic and get a tune on the dyno. I might also part out my car and gain money back. If I bypass the whole pipe dream of stroke a 25 or 26 with one big turbo or go down the RB30 path, I think I will save in the longrun-money doesnt grow on trees, so the mrs keeps sayn. By the way I have owned a VL berlina turbo, 400 hp rwd and quite scary in the wet, but it was not built by me. Fun factor +10. I think the unpopularity factor (cheap) and purchasing an M35 gets me one step closer to the Nagoya Auto Trend 2009 Stagea. I will definately build one of these over a 10 year period-it'll keep me happy and busy. Sorry for the verbal dribble- gotta love boredom and night shift..a simple yes or know will do. What are your thoughts, man?
  11. I suppose we have one thing in common man. A GTS4 driver and a RS4 driver are both half way to being GTR drivers ,haha. Just my thoughts..
  12. I never knew a rsfours came in leather and woodgrain pack, not my thing but elegant rivalling a M35 interior. Im a quarter of the way there. Pretty hard to find full factory options and colors hey.. With twin sunnies is the hard thing. I reckon thered be afew in japan but aus, I dont think so.
  13. Yep, yeah and Yes. Just do it dude, its worth it but be carefull. Most stag steering wheels are old and worn. R34 gtr, gtt manual are the go, airbag still works fine. S15 Silvia also works a treat, jsust plug the fuse back in-simple.
  14. These are examples of four aftermarket dashes some digital for S1, S2 and Autech versions. Tomei, Freeway Dolphin and Tommy Kaira (one will fit a series 1 and the other a GTT, can someone confirm this on a S2 manual?) An excellent point by Tangles is does the speedo go to 300km/h? I wonder if there is a nismo one. Be warned they would come with a exuberant price tag if available new at all. I can think of a better way to spend my cash! I had a S13 with HUD and digital display pretty similar, I suppose it comes down to how much you love your stag! Cheers.
  15. Thanks everyone for your responses . Duncan I think KiwiRS4 is going down the RB30det path soon, I will be waiting eagerly. Atomaly, nice carbon fibre bonnet and ganador mirrors what brands are they, from a member a few months back? Mike, angel eye headlights, G-Square carbon door sil covers are sweet where are they available-jap auctions, import monster? Dayz, your whole car is very rare, great example of full dayz options. Great to see some aftermarket and rare factory options aswell. Here are some more, Cheers.
  16. Just to clarify for you ryan. kpgc10 = skyline gtr (1969-1972) p510 = bluebird (1968-1973) Both very nice cars .
  17. Ok, Just thought it might be interesting. I'll start with a Tommy Kaira digital display for a S1. Not much of a power house, but this is a rare car from the UK. I am pretty sure it went for around $12 000 pounds. Someone will be happy. Cheers.
  18. WTF! Excuse me while I throw up in my mouth. This is wot a real kpgc10 should have and look like. Also these old skool bluebirds are great with SR conversions, an alternative to the Datto 1600. I am tryn to sell the stag due to wtb a RS4-S or do up a older Y31-32 VIP cima as a bunky sleeper (VG30DET.) Maybe the conversion might have looked better with a Y30 cedric / gloria wagon ass end. But gotta love these legendary nissan retro cars! 10/10 for Jap engineering but, Im sure we all agree that the japs have some funny ideas, they should stay off the drugs and sake. Cheers.
  19. I had a few problems with a Just Jap Bellmouth due to the fact that it was stainless steel and non bendable, so it was hard to fit and kept rubbing on the autos gearbox cross member. I went with a quality R33 HKS dump with good gaskets from Nengun and hooked up a second hand mild steel Trust front pipe, it then fitted perfectly to my silent zorst. Also whilst doing this it is a good idea to replace your 10 year + O2 sensor. Ultimately this was great due to the fact that JDM parts have superior gaskets and fitment and when I lowered my stag on Tein springs it was quite lowish and if you bottom out your car you can just have the front pipe replaced easily. Just my two cents, hope it helps. Cheers.
  20. Yes, I had no problems at all with the air bag module or srs lights. Just be sure to take out the fuse from the relay to not allow for the airbag to activate. One more tip is that you will need a 12 mm torx and deep socket to attach the steering wheel. I ended up installing a late model manual R34 GTT wheel, try to avoid the tip tronic versions although these can also be done. Cheers.
  21. I had heaps of hassles with other aussie brands. I found that it was easier to fit stagea specific wagon springs. These items from Tein is what I used, also replaced the rear sway bar with a GTR one. SKN78-S1B00 Nissan Stagea WGNC34 - Soft - F3.1 R3.8 (kg/mm). These were for a S1 also available for S2 manual and tiptronic. Note if you have a few more bucks coilovers or "Sydneykid's" setup with bilsteins is the way to go, it also pays to have a good offset instead of spacers. Hope this helps.
  22. How deep are your pockets darrin? Going very cheap, lol. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...im-t288731.html Worthy of such a vehicle but pricey - some updates please!
  23. I found these pics today, crown S170 athlete V wagon. Nice..1JZ, manual and rear wheel drive! This is a better comparism to the stag. If the stagea is the GTR wagon, then this is what you would call a supra wagon?
  24. Whatever you do, stick with a Jap branded wheel. You could go with the usual suspects such as GTCs, LMGT4s or TE37s but its good to be different. I have been liking the Weds Sport range lately SA70s, SA97F, generally because they are not everywhere. I think one of the worse things is to rock up somewhere and you have the same wheels as the next person. Most come in bronze, silver etc with the fitment you are after and have a blue anodised line that will compliment your paint. I have gone right off mesh and dish, and some lightweight race rims were the go. Also, I dont think many people have talked about lug nuts, I went with Project Kics heptagon caliber 24s. These are high quality steel 7 sided with a titanium coating so you dont need lock nuts or to worry about stripping or rounding. The colour is perfect too. http://www.weds.co.jp/ Try these guys, they have a good range and a sale on certain wheels till the end on the month. http://www.neweraparts.com/Default.aspx?ta...;Language=en-AU Happy shopping. Flawless Masa R34GTR front build, I cant wait to see under the bonnet.
  25. I was going down this path, bought the parts and all and thought to myself is it really worth it? The upgrade starts getting pricey. I want to save some money so I am just doing a full service on the brakes including good quality acre pads and dot 5 fluid, new adr braided lines, new cusco master cylinder and new front slotted DBA rotors with machined rears. Got to remember that the stag is 10 years + now and the rotors have seen better days. The brakes should be alot better for just street use. I think "Tangles" has a good write up on this subject. He has a decent powered stag and still uses standard brakes. I have a 100k service coming up and I know that my stag would appreciate where my priorities are! With the extra money I was going to spend on a GTST brake upgrade, I am able to also buy a oil relocation kit, some splitfire plugs and RB coilpacks for my major service. I think that when the stag gets some decent power behind it (200-230awkw) I might entertain this thought again.
