  1. Yes that is true it doesn't show who is approved with what types, but at least it does show who is approved to comply them, now its just a matter of ringing to confirm which models they can comply.

  3. Hello, I replaced my battery with a N53 maintenance free Calcium King battery. Cheers Pete
  4. This photo was taken after a recent highway trip, just after i filled up, ended up getting 900kms from 75 litres. regularly get around 10.5km per litre according to the fuel consumption screen, and thats back up at the bowser with 60 litres getting around 600kms.
  5. Hello, With the dramas i had diagnosing this problem, i found a wreckers that had a spare V35 Throttle body, so i went ahead and ordered it. Now i have fixed the problem i have a surplus Throtte body. If anyone needs a second hand, good condition throttle body PM me for details. These throttle bodys are used on the V35, M35, 350Z and im sure anything that has a VQ35 in it. Thanks Pete
  6. Hey Andy, Thats great news, looks like the use of forums has once again showed that multiple minds are better than one. Yes, it is no suprise to me that Nissan have no idea, because how many mechanics do you know clean the throttle bodies these days? gone of the day of good service, if the computer says there is nothing wrong they have no idea. Anyway, i will be looking into replacing the PCV? How much was the one you ordered? Good work, Cheers Pete
  7. Hey Guys, I have managed to get the car all up and running correctly. Idle Air Volume Learning procedure all complete. ANDY65B - i followed on further from you PVC line of thought, and when i carried out the volume learning procedure this time i blocked off the crankcase vent, in the intake pipe. Now i carried out the complete accelerator pedal released, throttle valved closed learning and idle air volume learning procedure. With out the PCV system working it was able to drop the car down to 650RPM, which is required for the ECU to acknowledge the procedure and hold it in the memory. Now after reving it a few times to confirm it was learnt, i turned the car off, reconnected the PCV lines and restarted to car to confirm it was all learnt. Now my car is back normal. hope you guys can get yours running ike it to. Cheers Pete
  8. Hi Andy. That is not the PVC in the photo of BLISTC's engine bay, that is the Brake booster vacuum line. The PCV hose comes from the back of Bank 2 cam cover, and feeds in before the throttle body. Cheers Pete
  9. Hey Andy, Because the PCV is before the throttle body, it still shouldn't be effecting the high idle, (i know you said you hose has no leaks) because it is the air that is getting past the butterfy valve that is making the idle high. These butterfly valves need to close more, which isn't happening to make the engine idle lower. Just a thought anyway. Cheers Pete
  10. Hello, RS4StagMan - Thanks for you comments, the RB25DET has a idle air control valve, The VQ35 doesnt, it uses the throttle body to control the idles air. I took the car to Main North Nissan (Adelaide) this morning, when they plugged the consult on to it, they could only acheive the same results with idle air volume learning as i could (800rpm), and yes consult couldnt get it to hold the learning either. When i got home, i pulled the throttle body appart. There is nothing interesting in there, there are the potentiometers (throttle position sensors) and the motor. The screw does nothing but preload the return spring, which is set in the factory. DO NOT ADJUST THESE SCREWS. ANDY65B - good work on the PCV, will have to try that. ZEI20L - I havent changed the plugs, the car has only done 62,000, and when i checked them at 60,000 they were fine. Cheers Pete
  11. Hi Andy, I dont think it has anything to do with moving it by hand when cleaning. I to tried adjusting that screw, however its seems to have a loctite sealant holding it in place, plus the lock nut. Ive been reading the G35Driver, and a 350z forum, and some say that when they took it to Nissan the used consult to reset it. i dont think anything they do with consult is any different to what we do with the non-consult way. Ive disconnect the battery tonight and will try again tomorrow. Cheers Pete
  12. Hello, Today I cleaned the throttle body/plenum because it was absolutely caked with black oily/soot/dirt Now i have performed the Accelerator Pedal release position learning, throttle valve closed position learning, and idle air volume learning. The car use it idle fine around the 650-700 RPM. After cleaning the throttle body off all the dirt, i noticed it had a gap all around the body which would let air through. when performing the throttle valve closed position, i notice that the butterfly valve moves all the way back to the closed position then back to original with a gap. obviosly because our cars dont have idle air control valves this gap is necessary to allow idling. Now when i perform the idle air volume learning the car starts fine then slowly drops the idle to around 800 rpm, which is still high. when you rev the car a few times it still returns to 800 rpm. However when you stop the car and restart it the idle goes back to 1000rpm, which means it hasn't learnt the new idle air volume. Also if you put it into D or R it drops back to 800rpm. Other than putting all the dirt/oil back around the throttle body/butterfly valve does anyone know how to get the idle back down. Ive tried all the procedured numerous times. Thanks Pete 03' V35 Sedan 350GT-8
  13. Hello, Read this link below, and the last few comments ive made! starts at post # 186 http :bunny:/www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/di...&start=180 I dont think we need Nav/Video bypass kits anymore, as long as you ground either CONT 1 or CONT 2 pins in the TV tuner. Cheers Pete
  14. Hello, No i dont have a navigation disc. would be interested in getting a disc to see what other info is available! Can the discs be copied? Cheers Pete
  15. Hello, While playing around on the weekend i found the self diagnositc mode for the Navigation system. In this mode you can test all components connected to the DVD rom navigation unit, eg tv tuner, gps antenna, etc. I also found these extra screens. By pressing the MAP and DISPLAY buttons together for 5 secs you get into the diagnostic mode. The first screen has 2 options, the top option is self test, the second one has this screen If you hold the MAP and DISPLAY buttons down for another 5 seconds on this screen you get this one You notice you get the additional function of SRAM (i think this resets the whole system) If you take the 3rd option down it has 3 functions - 1st option is gyro angle adjustment 2nd option is speed calibration 3rd option is this screen showing all gps data I have tried to work out what each set of figures mean? Can anyone else work out what the different menu options say? Cheers Pete
  16. Hello, If you grounded either of the CONT pins, then you wont be able to access any of the other functions from the screen as it will aways be displaying whats in the spare AV input. A better option would be to place a switch in the wire so you could turn it on and off when you need. Cheers Pete
  17. This should now mean we dont need a nav/video in motion bypass kit! you could install a switch somewhere which just grounds this wire when you want to watch the screen on the move! Cheers Pete
  18. Hello, Today i pulled appart the TV tuner located in the boot! I have already done this mod, and put the RCA plugs in the centre console, I installed a reversing camera, and was sick of always having to press the TV button to get the camera to come up. When i opened up the TV Tuner, i found that there are 2 pins on the circuit board from the main plug that have CONT 1 and Cont 2 written on the PCB. When you ground either one of them it changes the monitor automatically to the spare AV input. So i connected a relay off the reverse lights whichs ground the CONT 1 Pin therefore automatically switching in the reverse camera when placed into reverse. Cheers Pete The photos show - 1 - TV Tuner PCB Reverse Camera Centre console RCA's The Monitor with camera displayed

  20. How do you remove the factory alarm, do you just need to undo each scotch lock, and removal all the wires, there are ultrasonic sensors on the dash, and this control module that runs off the central locking obviously to arm/disarm the alarm? There is also the siren mounted under the glove box. Thanks
  21. Hello Chris, Yes i did end up fixing this, thanks for your help. Once i connected the yellow wire to the purple one to get the central locking to active all together, there are 2 wires from the door lock switch which i used to trigger the lock and unlock pulses rather than using the single negative to unlock, open to lock. Cheers Pete
  22. Hello, Im in the process of wiring up an Cyclops alarm with central locking output. This alarm gives a seperate negative pulse for the lock and unlock signal. ive worked out which wire i connect to for the unlock, however im not sure how to get it to lock? which wire/wires do i need to use to get it to lock? Any help will be most grateful. Has anyone been able to keep the factory alarm system working off an aftermarket alarm remote? Thanks
  23. Hello, I found this converter and was wondering if you could use this module to intergrate into the nav screen for a 'factory like reversing system'? http :P/www.carconverters.com.au/products/S...20preview=true Obviously from discussions ive read we need a RGB signal for the screen to work, and if you use a NTSC camera this unit should work? am i correct? Are there any other modules out there that people have found cheaper or better? Thanks Pete
  24. Hello, I recently went through this and look at the link below http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V3...5r-t264137.html Bob Jane has Michelin MXV8's for $199. I really recommend them, they are quite with good wet and dry grip, while still lasting. Thanks
