  1. No thanks, Im after something that I can drive and have fun in, and not worry about getting a stone chip here and there.
  2. I havent got a dyno figure since the turbo was rebuilt and hiflowed. It was 204 KW at the wheels prior to the work, and going from seat of the pants feel, (and the speedo) there has been a decent jump in the top end.
  3. Not at this stage However I will consider any serious offers in a pragmatic manner.
  4. Mave have been a Tad optomistic with the price. Dropping to $16900
  5. Well time has come to put old faithful up for sale. Its a 1998 R34 GT-T with the following features; Apexi Power FC + Hand controller Turbosmart e-Boost Hiflowed Turbo 5 speed manual Grade pack Climate control Power mirrors / windows Remote central locking 2 way factory fitted sunroof 150,000km 11 months rego Splitfire Ignition coils Trust Front Mount Intercooler Trust Pod Filter 3" Turbo back exhaust Switchable Traction Control ABS JVC Stereo with iPod and Aux inputs Condition Turbo was rebuilt and hiflowed earlier this year, it still has about 7 months warranty on it. TCS trips a warning light intermittently sometimes after you have been driving a while. Still works however. Tiny dent behind drivers door. Usual stone chips on bonnet etc. Car is located in Bathurst NSW (about 2 hours west of Sydney) $17500 (Will also consider a trade or trade + cash).
  6. Hi, I'm considering selling my car, but I'm not sure what its worth. I had a look around but Im not sure what forum would be the appropriate one to ask that question. Any suggestions?
  7. For anyone who is intrested I had it rebuilt by hypergear and hiflowed. Seemed to be the best option for what I wanted to spend. Boost comes on a tad later, but does not feel laggey and now there is no dropoff after 4200 when running at 1bar so im happy with that tradeoff. Attached pics show what was stopped from flying out the exhaust by the cat. and
  8. I was told by a few people the stock turbo being unable to maintain the higher boost (double stock) as the revs increased is to be expected, not an issue with the wastegate or Eboost. It seemed logical to me, but I guess that was just an assumption I made that suited the facts and backedup what others said, lol. Thanks. Am getting Hypergear to rebuild and highflow my turbo. It seems to be the better option when you take my requirements into account.
  9. In the end Ive decided to send by old turbo to hypergear to be rebuilt and highflowed. Seems to be the easiest and most cost effective option given that I dont want to change injecters, AFM, etc.
  10. Its been that for the last 8 years or so. Ok thanks, had never really thought about what hi-flowing entailed, I thought it was just porting and polishing or something like that. I would not get a bush bearing one, may be me but I dont think they last as long. Hey, is it possible to get my turbo rebuilt? If so where?
  11. Thanks Considering the Ks I do thats a consideration. Is there any rule of thumb on differences in fuel use when highway cruising? From some of the info posted so far I may just end up doing that. I got about 8 years out of the old one with the boost wound up. Guys, Im not running a stock board. I have a PFC fitted and am factoring a tune no matter what I end up doing.
  12. Not yet. Ive started anouther thead for a recommendation, just waiting to see all the opinions and suggestions.
  13. What? $350 for a stock turbo? I thought they would be a lot more than that. Is that new, second hand, refurbished?
  14. I wouldant mind another 20 rwkw, as long as the difference between that and a stock item isant silly. Thanks Never considered hiflowing the existing turbo. Of course that means I would have to have my current one rebuilt. Anyone have an idea on what it costs to have a turbo rebuilt and hiflowed? Also whats the downsides? Interesting.... Its not falling over as such, just boost drifting off as revs rise. I was told by several sources that is to be expected with a stock turbo when uppped to 1bar. (have attached dyno chart with boost if anyone wants to comment) Was told by several sources I can upgrade slightly without doing the rest hence asking for advice in this thread. For my current use I would like some more power, but cant justify a large cost for a big jump. Who would repair and hiflow a turbo? Ok, so hiflowing will make it laggy? I would not call an extra 20 to 30 rwkw no gain (depending on the cost above putting a stock one back on) While I dont want to get cought up in upgrading everything, I did factor a retune in, I assumed it would be necessary if I put a stock or different turbo back on. Thanks for all the opinions guys, they are apprecieated.
  15. Well the turbo on my R34GT-T has bit the dust and I need to get a replacement fairly quick. Rather than replace it with a stock turbo I was thinking of something with a little more performance, but Im not sure where what so I would apprecieate some advice. This car is my daily drive and I do a fair bit of open road crusing so I dont want anything that is laggy or peaky or sucks the juice down. So a bit more performance but not at the sake of useability. Current Specs - RB25 NEO DET - eBoost - FMIC - PowerFC - Pod - Hi flow exhaust - Spitfire coil packs What I want - Bolt on, no messing with makeing custom mounts or anything - Mild performance improvement (currently 200kw at the wheels) - Works with current mods, dont want to upgrade other bits like fuel pump, internals - Dont want it to use a lot more fuel - Dont run out of puff (old turbo started to loose boost from 4200) - Daily driver so not peaky or laggy. Smooth with boost over most of the range is good So guys, fire away with the suggestions!
  16. Thanks for the advice everyone. To put it simply, its time for a new turbo.
  17. If there is one. had to laugh at that. Will do that when I have some time on the weekend. Had already had a look at the plumbing, could not see anything obvious. Ouch. I have already driven it over 300km (problem happend far from home). If the impeller breaks up can it actually make its way past the the FMIC? I would have thought it would have got stuck there? Doh!!! Yes its a R34 with a RB25. Silly slip there. Thanks, will run through the rest of these over the weekend.
  18. Just after peoples opinions on this. I was out driving yesterday and about 1/2 hour into the trip I tried to acellerate up a hill and noticed I had bugger all power. It feels like I have 1/3 or less the power that I normally have, it takes over 5 seconds to acellerate from 90 to 100 I didnt hear or feel anything happen, the motor still runs and idles smoothly but has bugger all power. The boost guages (factory and eBoost) both show vaccume but neither will rise above zero when under load. When the load / revs is in the area where it would normally produce boost it emits some white smoke. I guess this is cause its now running quite rich without the extra air? So my questions are, what can I look for that may indicate what the problem is? Does a blown turbo exhibit these symptoms? Could it be something else like the eBoost? Some basics - RB34 GT-T - FMIC - PowerFC - eBoost
  19. Evening all, I have a problem with my R34 GT-T where the TCS Off and SLIP lights are lit on occasions. The time between starting the motor and the lights coming on is varies, sometimes a couple of minutes, other times it may be an hour or more. Restarting the motor will turn those lights off for a random period again. My totally random guess is that its a sensor somewhere playing silly buggers (hope its not the PFC). Does that seem like a reasonable? If so, where and what should I look for? Is there anything I can do myself to see if I can fix it like clean sensors, or remove sensor wiring plugs and clean, check sensor cables for visable damage? Failing all that, who should I take the car to for this to be fixed? Nissan dealer, auto electrician or skyline specialist?
  20. Thanks! (Found out about this when I searched again earlier) Brillient stuff, they look so much better now. Almost like new I would say.
  21. Hmmm..... Did search first but didnt find anything. Tried again with less specific search terms (should not have had acrylic in there) and have now found what I was looking for.
  22. Hi Guys, Over the years the acrylic headlight covers on my R34 have become cloudy. My guess is that its the lovely UV rays at work... Anyhow, is there anyway to bring them back to their origional glory, or is it just something that I have to live with?
  23. Hi Guys, I need to replace a couple of bits on my R34GTT. Second hand or new is fine by me. Or if any one knows of a store that socks these thats good too. Headlight Housing Cover Rubber bump stop - Boot Trim Screws - Boot To make things a little more clear here are some pictures. Circled in red is where the missing cover should be. Circled in red is where the missing bump stop and trim screws should be. Circled in red is what the bump stop and trim screws look like. Thanks!
