They do this with no problem, they put a bullet in the head of one my friend saw hit a car one night.

hahaha this is exactly what i had... I learnt to brake hard and then sloooowly coast up to a stop without using them at all so they didn't make the noise lol They were Bendix black pads (dunno the proper name??) put on - AND the discs were machined... anyway, I took it back and they fixed it (for a while) then it came back. So I took it back again and they said they'd put on a new set, but they ended up doing something to the current set, and now they're fine! (so far - it's only been a week)

yes, i reckon some do...maybe not all... either because they think you're gonna bargain it down, or because they hope someone will just walk off the street and pay the sticker price. They'll always try to get the highest price they can! i'd offer less and walk away, leave your phone number with them. If they're keen to make a sale they'll ring, or you can ring them back to see what's going on after a few days, if they've had no other offers they might be keen to bargain with you..

thanks Andrew, but as Ewen said i need the drivers side damn $50 would have been great though!! just got a price from a wrecker in Adelaide, $275 + $35 postage....so I guess around 300 seems to be the going price for one kinda rules out getting the 4-door ones, cos I can't afford two

just got a set of these...love them!! my car is like a different car in the wet now... I would recommend them to anyone! (they're great in the dry too, but it's just the wet that you really notice the difference when you have good tyres and you don't have to be so afraid of stepping out when you go thru a corner!)

I'd also recommend the Mobil servo at Garran - see the thread in the ACT section about servicing

yeah there are so many Silvias around, I'd try finding one already here so you can check it out before you buy.. try the trading post online, and your Sat paper each weekend....something will come up! the insurance in your name will be a good thing...you can build up a nice NCB and then insurance will be heaps cheaper if you want to get a turbo line later!

yeah i have an owners manual too, but it's in Jap... you can still understand lots of it by the funny little cartoons tho lol If you need something to pass rego though, the Jap owners manual is no good whether its translated or not...cos it still doesn't have the instructions for child restraints etc (as they are all fitted here at compliance). blackdoggette, if you want a copy of the booklet my compliancer gave me, just give us a yell and i'll photocopy it

aww you poor thing that's a heap of stuff to happen to one person!! hope your friend who lost her baby is getting thru things ok - and by that i realise it will never be "ok", but i hope she realises that there's places she can turn for support and help. And if she wants to talk to you, don't feel like you have to be her counseller, just listen.
