  1. Nice to meet you yesterday btw Zoidberg... Don't know if I said I was Cyph on here or not, I'm the idiot with the white r33 that managed to crack a bit off the chin spoiler on a grass embankment in the pits. bwhahahaha. Now to sort and edit 1700+ photos...
  2. I'll be out in the infield taking pics as per usual, but you'll probably see my car parked somewhere in the pit area. Last comp drift day for the year, looking forward to it! Charging everything now ready to go... lol.
  3. Eh, the 50mm is my cheapy lens that cost me all of like $70. Should see the big lens.. 70-200 2.8 IS USM.. .and then theres a 10-22mm wide to go with it
  4. I knew all that time wasted putting decals on slot cars was worth it! lol
  5. I'm so not going to bother with the windex trick ever again, it didn't work right for me... probably too much windex.. lol Drivers side went on easy as, passenger side was the one I tried to windex it because I wasn't sure about lining it up with the other side... cue it not drying and then not wanting to stick at all... will probably detach itself when I go for a drive today. Anyway... If it comes off I'll just buy another sticker at some point, hah.
  6. Spotted zoidberg heading south around 5:30ish or thereabouts somewhere on the highway. Can't remember where, was a bit tired, but spotted it on the trailer. I was going the other way in my own white r33

    Tas Whoretown

The biggest and most enjoyable thing I found was getting out of the Rookie/Class D series, with maybe the exception of the Skip Barber, as that's a fun car to drive as long as the racing is clean. I'm happy they've made the Radical a class C car again with races going off every couple of hours, because the Radical is an awesome car to drive. It's one of the ones I can actually drive on the limit strangely, I can't do the same with most of the open wheelers... I seem better with tin tops like the Mustang etc. *shrug* And yeah, jerks in the MX5 blocking is annoying.

I do a little bit every now and then, I should re-activate my subscription and spend some time on it again
  9. rofl. I will gladly pay for some stickers...
  10. Will be out there taking photos, roaming the infield for most of the day I imagine. If you see someone roaming around with a fluro orange vest and a Drifting Tasmania hoody, carrying camera gear, say hi!
  11. If anyone is needing cameras, gopros, etc, give me a yell, as I deal with it all the time at work.
  12. Recently purchased a second hand set of 17x8 +35 and 17x9 +32 Volk Racing GT-P to go on the R33. Tyres going on to be Kumho KU-36.. Should be grippy enough. Picking up the front tyres next week, the rears will have to wait a week or two more until I save enough money. Did some smallish things today, put new windscreen wiper blade/carrier things on it today, still got to take the arms off at some point and actually paint them so they are just flat black instead of half black/half unpainted metal. Will wait until it's warmer. Purchased replacement leather gearstick/handbrake boots, and bought some random leather wrapped Nismo gearknob off eBay. *shrug*. Got more stuff in the pipeline to do to the 33, then I'll have to get it out to a track day or two... Needs some suspension parts replaced before any of that happens though. Fun times ahead, may involve corners!
  13. Spotted a white r34 with black bonnet damaged under the overpass that is just before the turnoff for Harvey Norman in Launceston this morning. Tail lights appeared to be popped out, but couldnt see the passenger side for damage. Also spotted at the same spot was a red car with what looked like a badly dented drivers side. Anyone know what the go with that one is? :|
  14. Hey hey - if you read the Tassie section on NS you'll see this kind of post over there as well... My R33 is needing some work done to it in the near future - rear main seal, clutch, and probably headgasket due to the mysteriously disappearing coolant that is not going into the oil and has no coolant leaks that I can find. Where abouts in Launceston does good work at reasonable prices? If theres nowhere that's really recommended I can always take it out to Westbury Engineering due to it being in my extended family nonsense. I'm thinking while I'm getting the rear main seal done I might as well do the clutch at the same time - no idea what clutch is in the 33 at the moment, probably a standard one from the feel of it, very light in terms of pedal feel - and am just after some recommendations on what kind of clutch? It's still stockish in terms of engine and power, only things done are pod filter, r34 side mount intercooler and a cat back exhaust, so I'm not making huge huge power. Heavy duty clutch or a sports organic or something? Not going to do any drifting in it, but might do some track days in the future. Cheers, Rob
  15. I'm doing something nerdy, building a rig to mount my G27 kit on for sim racing, and want a proper seat (currently racing a desk and an office chair, and neither are overly suitable!) for it. Where is there in Launceston (or surrounding areas) to buy a race seat from? Like I know Autobarn will sell dodgy seats in any event, which are probably dodgy enough. Are there any import friendly wreckers out there that could have R33 seats or similar? Just after something comfy in a recliner that I can sit in for hours doing sim racing (because it's cheaper than real racing ) Or are there any shops that sell motor sport stuff around? Cheers, Rob
  16. Saw a light blue R33 at the BP on Wellington Street in Launceston yesterday, as I pulled in behind them to put fuel in my R33. Blue R33 had the plates EMPRA. It also left a lot of scrape marks on the exit back onto Wellington. If you're on here, sorry for laughing. I fully understand why you got out of the car and mouthed 'f**k'. Cheers, -- cyph
  17. Finally got around to changing the oil in the 33, was too painful trying to get Lubrimaxx so I'm running some Nulon 10W-40 'high tech fast flowing' fully synthetic oil. Shall see how that goes. And while the oil was draining, pulled off the stock R33 intercooler and replaced it with an R34 GT-T one. Half an inch thicker and 4 or 5 rows taller. Kind of impressive. No idea if it's making a big difference, but it can only help from a cooling side of things? It was free from the workshop in QLD that did all the stuff to my old S13 up there, I'd had it sitting in the boot for... oh... 10 months. lol So even if it doesn't perform overly well, it's free at least?

    Insurance

Just Car Insurance is now offering pay by the month? what the.
  19. Cyph-R33

    Insurance

Who is everyone insured with, that 1) insures imports, 2) doesnt require the car to be garaged, 3) has pay by the month as an option. I've been looking around everywhere but apart from Shannons, everyone else who does pay by the month won't touch imports (wah wah wah, parts are too expensive to get wah wah wah bs bs bs). I was insured with Shannons previously, but they won't insure me since I moved to Tassie (not comprehensively anyway) due to the fact my car is no longer garaged. Which sucks, but oh well. I did have a quote from Famous Insurance, however since then they've decided to get rid of their Pay by the Month option (wtf). If anyone can help me out, it'd be great. Cheers, -- Cyph
  20. Anyone know what the deal is with the silver R33 with R34 GTT wheels on it, currently missing a front bar? I see it nearly every day when I'm heading to/from work (depending on the route I've taken, if I'm getting V or not), just wondering what happened to the front bar
  21. That explains the advert I approved on Tassie Cars this morning then! -- cyph
  22. Wow there are some bogans in the crowd aren't there.. lol
  23. I'm sure they'll be making comments soon along the lines of "Wombats and Tasmanian Devils are killed by race cars every year". The greenies lap that stuff up unfortunately. I swear to god we have the most retarded population down here. They oppose anything that brings money into the state. They oppose anything they makes money. I'm surprised they aren't opposed to the idea of high speed internet - because it may mean they have to change how they do things. And if it's not tasmanian devils, they'll somehow link targa tasmania with the proposed pulp mill - you know, a business to make money and provide jobs, but they can't have that. It's mostly old people with too much time on their hands. As long as we have a premier who was in a Targa stage, we'll be right
