  1. nah... i took my tuner with me to the emissions test... we went to the penrith centre (the guy there is REALLY nice) and he let him sit in the car during the test, so that he could play with the emissions setting... thats how i ended up passing!
  2. Oh yeah! i know THAT feeling! Hehehe... and i think i'm the queen of passing emissions tests i've been through them twice! i'm surprised you passed so easily... especially since stock skylines don't pass our emissions tests anyway! i had to make a fair few changes to get mine to pass As for the computer... how would they know if its hidden behind its panel?!!? Would they actually bother unscrewing everything to check?
  3. I'd like to think that they aren't so money minded... that they are just doing whats best for the environment... which i guess they are... but they are probably going a little overboard in the hopes of meeting their quota...
  4. Stop modding?!!? lol!!! i dunno!!! I probably won't... i can't let you boyz get too far in front! but as long as its alll legal!!! I can't afford to waste more money on fines! :
  5. WOW25T... i feel for you... Were you also asked to do an emissions test... thats a btch to pass the reason for pulling me over was a random breath test! It hardly seems fair that you can be defected for a car that was allowed to be complied and registered within aust! You should try and appeal the fines based on ignorance... thats if you have papers to show what was on the car when it was complied.... you could always claim you didn't know there were laws against no cat etc... if anything you can get out of paying the fines... from what i hear, the fine for no cat is 10k I had pics taken of my car too.. though i wasn't asked to be in the pics... looks like they were on a money making mission on that night :
  6. LOL!!! one more time, gus?
  7. Awww!!! how cute!!!
  8. yes!! secret hint please!!!!!
  9. yeap! i'm not touching the car! I already knew i'd be in trouble a second time round... i'm definitely not ricking it by going a third time!
  10. :werd:
  11. hmm... how cute! when did he get that front lip? it looks like its smiling!
  12. Hey Adam! I was taken to court for the pod filter as well... i didn't notice it at first, but sean did... they charged me with exhaust and pod they went all out!!! And you're right... it wasn't a repeat offence... well... they just charged me with having the illegal stuff... the epa guy, when i spoke to him that night, though, said that because it was a repeat offence, i will either get a fine, or i would be requested to appear in court... so if it was up to the epa officer... then he must have really hated me! : ahh well!! i'm all legal now! and aim to remain that way! How rude, that the harleys get away with nothing!! those bikes are louder than a car will ever be!! and i think its quiet stupid that you are allowed to import and comply a car with 'illegal' parts... thats just ghey! you shouldn't be allowed to register the car if it doesn't comply with australian standards! plus, its also ghey, that a stock skyline doesn't pass emmissions standards STOCK! dont know how they expect those cars to pass, when they won't out of the factory...
  13. Wow! so many questions! and i guess thats the reason i started this thread... just to make people aware... cause i sure as hell wouldn't have changed everything back if i'd known how bad it could be the second time! In answer to your questions: Both times i got defected, I had the same epa guy go over my car (i think theres only one!) He is the same guy that also passed my car for its defects. Him remembering me didn't help! He remembered me getting defected a first time... even remember the location and the approx date... and he also remembered me clearing the defects... including exactly what i had done... he asked me why i'd changed it all back when it was legal! During the first lot of defects, they took pics of my car - the exhaust and the exposed pod.... during the second lot of defects they did the same thing. They'd have records of all these pics. As for the parts being EXACTLY the same... i don't think that matters... what mattered was my car was caught with an illegal pod filter, and the sound levels of my exhaust were over the legal limit (90db @ 4800rpm) for a second time. What they DID know was that i had been caught once... I'd made the necessary changes to fix the problems, and then I deliberately went and changed things back and made them illegal again. My car was complied in october 2002... down in melbourne... sorry... don't know anything about what laws it was complied under... what i do know was it was complied with the exposed pod and with the loud exhaust. They didn't look into who complied the car.... and me saying that i'd gotten the car as is, even complied as is, didn't hold any weight. No marking of parts when they pass the car... they just check to see that i've replaced the pod with a stock airbox and that my exhuast is under the legal limit. I should also clarify that it was completely my fault! I was defected the first time, and changed everything to be legal, then went and passed then car, and then changed everything back. so when they caught me the second time, the car was exactly as it was when i was caught the first time. So no, they were not then defecting me on a car that was epa compliant. Umm... they gave me a little while... i think almost a month.. i was also able to call the epa to get this time extended. I had to pass an emmissions test as well, which took quite a few gos to pass, and took me almost 3 months to get through... out of everything... thats the one test you can't fudge, or dodge your way around. The car was not impounded inbetween all this... i was still driving around... i didn't have a defect sticker either... Yes they would have known if i'd removed the offending parts as I had to report back to the epa in lidcombe for them (it was the SAME GUY!!!!!!! : ) to once again go over the car, and run their tests to make sure it was all once again legal.... I think i've covered everything!! Hope it helps! let me know if you have any more questions...
  14. I used to have a trust sr on the car... VERY loud... heheh... i loved it!! it sounded so damn tough!!! yeah... i think i just had some bad luck... first one was on a sunday night - wetherill park... pulled over by an undercover cop car... had to follow them to the rta/epz set up... second time was early sunday morning... was at harrys for a pie... they had an 'rbt' setup with the rta/epa setup behind... ahh well!! i'm just glad its all over!
  15. ew!!!! sounds like the best way to end city2surf though!
  16. LOL!!!! good idea! I'll start a thread to get some ideas for some destinations

  18. awwwww.... I haven't seen you peeps in ages!! and would love to come, but will have to pass as i'll be crawling through the city2surf on sunday! been dying to go on another cruise though!! will try and organise one in the next few weeks!!
  19. Well... it sounds to me like your mate has only offended ONCE... he is just taking awhile to clear his first round of defects. And sounds like you've only been done once too. All I am saying is that I got defected TWICE (thw two offences were a year apart) by the RTA/EPA... for EXACTLY the same thing... and the second time the EPA took me to court... that is all! Supra - Lawyer fees were about the same... so all up i think i was let off VERY lightly!
  20. Happy Birthday Big Bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Defected for a second time... thats exactly what i mean! Both times was for air pod and exhaust being too loud! Your friend must get defected by the cops... ie highway patrol or paddy wagon guys... i got defected - both times - by the rta and epa. The cops pull you over for a random breath test, then ask you to follow them to an rta/epa set up where they will proceed to defect you for anything that is defectable for you car! The first time i was given two infringement notices... the second time (cause it was the second offence) the epa took me to court! I'm just saying, be careful! If the epa/rta defect you, don't get done by them again! what happened with your mate? WHat defects? Does he have to go back to the epa for an inspection to get it cleared, or does he just fax something to them?
  22. Still available!!!
  23. Well... had my court appearance this morning! I was lucky to get off with nothing more than a $600 fine! whew! THANKS to Adam (ABO BOB) for hooking me up with a lawyer!
