  1. hey would love to see the vid, is it online? thought once the lidar hit you that was it, no time to slow down. im intrigued, i have one less infringement than you and want to keep it that way somehow almost back up to full points now and nothing in last 2 yrs (all were with Audi weirdly nothing since i got the R33). mostly its been from smarter 'when and where to give it a squirt' thinking but would love something like that for the unexpected. emmachizzit?
  2. lol yes shards of glass about covers it. over the hump now and only a few days left before a pub crawl, lots of effort trying to get them less red by then. going to be toughest resisting the mai tais during happy hour..
  3. yeah im the master of obtuse, used to broaching the subject with more candour on other forums ..my answer would be leaning towards the latter assumption of yours but its not comparable to anything you would find here. at all. To keep it semi clean here i will just post a link to one of my trip reports..wait damn the free wifi service here in honolulu blocked me from accessing the site. whodda thunk it. anyway check out the forums for cambodia on worldsexguide.com, I also did a few trip reports for the Phillipines as well where i actually spent more time. no real eye candy there for cars though other than one R33 GTR i saw out of the blue in Cagayan De Oro..so random after 3 weeks of seeing nothing but tuk tuks and beat up cabs it was very nice. too dark for a pic though
  4. cool, so where do i go to add it to the tomtom? cant see anything on the tomtom website and too lazy right now to do any proper googling as for the detector, if i had the money i would get one. dont get fines often either and long since stopped speeding around built up areas (well..cept for the odd 2am run to maccas), its usually miles from anywhere on the odd roadtrip that i get stung. radar thingy would be awesome for that but im still skeptical they work on a well hidden highway rozzer behind a tree with a laser gun. radar units in territories is probably more what they work on. .?
  5. ah sorry didnt realise was another thread. should i delete this one and post the link there? cheers.
  6. \Policeman put down the rego no. of the 1-tonner in front of me, instead of my plate (GTR33Z) & did a typo on my Lic no. too. you probably could have got away with just not paying it and the RTA would have been on a wild goose chase to figure out who to give the points too etc..
  7. lol you sure you want me to do that? could be a little TMI for this forum but basically its a giant open air and very laid back whorehouse. The sex industry is not the only thing keeping the economy going, plenty of people come for the ...erm, temples and stuff and the NGO's are trying to turn things around with a lot of clubs being closed in the last few years but its still a lot like Pattaya/Phuket in Thailand just a LOT cheaper and less pressure to buy buy. Im normally a good boy, nothing of the sort at home of course but after the tenth approach and about the same number of beers (less than a buck a schooner) its hard to resist when the girls are so pretty and it feels more like your getting a temporary girl friend. Especially after all the playing pool, dancing, riding on their bike to the market and other gf quality time stuff. Even the next morning, or few days later when u give them a parting 'gift' its usually much less then you would spend on a dinner back home. im not saying its for everyone but i had a blast in the ten or so days i was there
  8. um so can i get this wonderful trapster thing on my tomtom? no iphone and cant see it on the nokia apps store which is a bit crappy i must admit, cant afford a 2k plus radar avoider yet but sounds too good to be true. most of the speed traps i have seen.. ie. lidar pointing up the hill at the mittagong big dipper on the hume, not much u could do until it was too late. though of course pretty dumb to be speeding through there anyway, got back under just in time last two trips
  9. poor bundy..so what is the law now? i would love throw my dog on the back of my scooter but always figured i would only get away with that somewhere like the phillipines (where i could also throw my 3 kids, wife and her 2 brothers as well). Ive seen Jeep Wranglers doing quick turns on old south head road in bondi and have to hold onto their labradors to keep them from flying out the side..thats pretty funny/nerve wracking to watch. anyway on topic i think its messed up some pissed off copper can seemingly write a note on your 'file' after you did something stupid when young and in a mood and it stays with you for life. Admit to a chequered driving history (at least regarding the rozzers, no at fault accidents as yet..track day offs not counted ) but first offence dealt with as seems to be typical. (2004) Was doing 110 on pac highway in an old landy with a trailer and a larger mattress on the back, it dropped to 80 for the offramp towards the city, of course i 'failed to notice' and coasted onwards, brother even mouthed off something about cops always being there and of course the bastard was right. It was a boxing day blitz so i was a little worried about points but the guy dropped it to just five over and was pretty nice about it, only problem then was the ageing landcruiser took an age to fire up again, when it did it was black smoke and loud bangs all the way up the ramp covering the cops in soot and dust. almost felt sorry for them, almost. (2005) next was coming around a corner a bit 'enthusiastically' in my old 99' Audi A4, when cop walking along cooper st jumps out into the road and hails me down like im a cab. Jogs up and starts shouting through my window (actual spittle on my arm) about how i was 'drifting' and doing 'burnouts', when i tried to point out this was kind of hard in a FWD car he then got stuck into me for being a smartarse. I wasnt beiing deliberately obtuse but just kept rubbing the guy the wrong way and it descended into flat out abuse from the young constable. Finally something came up on their radio, he said its "your lucky day' and ran off with his mate to attend the call. Breathing a sigh of relief and being careful not to 'drift' anymore on my way home i thought that was it. Nope, a week later i get a handwritten ticket in the mail for 'turning incorrectly across centre lane'. Looked it up and it seems all they could find in the books was some law where u cant turn into a street and cross the dividing line in the middle of the road. Being sure i did nothing of the sort i took it to court (lawyers wouldnt touch it for some reason..hmm) where i showed the judge photos of the turn, if i turned early enough to be in the wrong lane i wouldnt see oncoming traffic coming up the hill etc. Of course he saw common sense and...no wait he saw red and added costs to the charge with a 'lekcha' on wasting his time. what cheesed me off was thinking i got off then getting a trumped up ticket for something i knew i didnt do..still in the end for there to be some tyre squeal at all i must have been pushing it so thems the breaks. anyway got a feeling something was written up in my file because as polite as i was from then on if i ever got pulled over for speeding (erm just a couple of times honest guv'nor) i was given short shift and not given much of a break at all.. admit I could have been pretty dumb back then but does it have to haunt me and others with similar stories forever? dont have any cop friends but would be nice to know if a cop down the line could 'amend' the notes if he/she sees improved behaviour etc. just my 2 cents.
  10. not sure if the link will work properly as its a bloody smh video thingy but wow, can i request this magistrate for my next case?? http://media.smh.com.au/drive/car-news/lam...;exc_from=strap
  11. hey thanks guys would love to be put in touch with either the drifters or the mazda tuner. Not sure how i would start the conversation but im renting a mustang so maybe i could tag along with them sometime if theres some good spots, im not an expert drifter more an occasional trackday and nasho runner but would love to see the scene here. im here in waikiki for 2 weeks, plan to pop over to see the volcano island at some point but mostly will hang here doing the usual tourist guff. saw an RX8 blacked out and lowered, number plate WR8TH...your mate? cheers
  12. not sure, i imagine out in the jungles somewhere, Laos got plastered with more of them but cambodia got is fair share hence the number of limbless beggars you see around. @rowdy yes on the first count, no on the second, had a business card for the hotel but no one spoke english when i rang and he wasnt around when i strolled out there for a second time. probably out burning up the streets in his tricked up Celica. Weirdly the only other coupes i saw over there were other celicas albeit the only modifications being shiny rims. not one sporty nissan, In Hawai now where theres plenty of 370's and infinitis but no skylines 'bro' did see this amongst all the mustangs, camaros and chargers though.
  13. um she was the one taking me for a ride that night. on her scooter i mean..
  14. I think GTR at that price in the UK, a gtst would be worth less than 10k im guessing and hes reselling his for 22k, about the same as a GTR is worth here in our monopoly money. The poor bugger, hope he at least gets a copy of the vid to watch in jail. Looks like a typical lunchtime run for me on the M5 too back in the day..140=210km and hr ish, yeah that would get me to hurstville and back in time for the afternoon rush.
  15. its a ghetto sydney euphemism for a fifty buck note. see how its all yellow and stuff? A twenty is a lobster and not sure about the one hundreds, only heard it used in Redfern or from bogans out west but i like it.
  16. ah sorry about that basti, saw your post earlier but the fifty cent beers had taken their toll by the time I replied and thats the best i can do by way of explanation. As for compensation, her name is Dahli and if you can wing your way over here with fifty bucks in your wallet (plus 14 for a room in a 3 star hotel, mines called the Walkabout and does aussie breakfasts) I will give you her number ps. the pineapples for her not me, and thats all night knocking back cocktails, hitting the dance floor and then whatever the hell else you want..
  17. lol, classic. i dont want to jack my own thread but just in case your booking flights now i will just show you what i mean in case they're not your type, these are some friends i met last night
  18. haha i thought someone would shoot me down for sounding misogynist but then i remembered which forum i was on Its almost too easy here though girls wise, im in for a very harsh reality check when i get home.. as for gauges, i believe its become some kind of status symbol here, i have seen Camry's with them and just about everything on four wheels has giant plastic spoilers, blue/purple/red flashing leds on mirrors/bonnets/grilles and of course a family of soft snoopy/hello kittys on the dash. Its like sussex st sydney X eleventy bazillion.
  19. oh yeah and speaking of gauges.. mght wander down again today and see if he will take me for a run. =) im only in town till mon and a man cant live on cheap beer and women alone..
  20. and the last two posts have it! he got it done in thailand by a pretty serious tuner there, he didnt know what boost he was running or even what kind of engine was in it. The 17yr old owner just grinned and said 'fast'. The roads are bad here but late at night pretty empty so might be worth the fun factor as long as you can afford to replace the shocks every 2 weeks..
  21. can anyone guess what it is? nice guy saw me snapping pics and came out from having lunch in his dads hotel and popped the bonnet for me. more pics if interest is expressed and big prize to first one who states the obvious and works out what it is.. pretty unusual over here, the only real tuners you see are a couple of beat up Hondas lightened and covered in stickers. So even hidden under a tarp this caught my eye..
  22. \as long as they are not in anyway connected to sports car world rentals in melbourne. they have a habit of taking your deposit on return of the rental car for fictitious tyre wear/damage claims. weeks after returning the car and theres no recourse to dispute..trust me i tried everything short of sueing them. could be a diff company so hope im not speaking out of turn if it is, used sports car world in sydney quite a lot until a yr or two ago and didnt have too many problems until i was suddenly paying for new tyres everytime as well. A bit more affordable with MX5's though than boxters on semi slicks..
  23. ah caught the TT special on it, god the cops were corny, sad old buggers but in this case justified as anyone bombing along that road at triple figures these days would deserve a slap on the wrist/head. oh and hate to use TT as any kind of authoritative source but looks like 'soft' had it re the optical illusion from cars further back. sigh oh well.
