ok theres only one other mate confirmed with a skyline coming so its a pretty small cruise so far but who knows, if anyones city based meet up and see what happens. im thinking eight - eight thirty pm on the ground floor of broadway shopping centre (near the fruit shop) then off towards watsons bay via New south head road (twisties) and then along the beachs of the eastern suburbs all the way to maroubra then Port botany and finally that san souci bit just after the airport that has a beach and lots of ice cream shops. if anyones keen possible RNP run afterwards or call it a night at that point depending on weather. all welcome!

dropped the gf back to dee why and spotted these on the journey.. the pictured r34 was in the back streets of dee why about 1130 am and gave it a bit of a squirt when he saw me in the rear view mirror, had a hard time keeping up until he parted ways with me at a roundabout, think i saw an SAU sticker so thanks for the run if your on here. also an r33 that looks identical to mine ARR 42V at 1210 near warringah mall and finally a white very clean R33 GTR parked only military road mosman facing away from the bridge exit, god they look soo much nicer than gt-st's...sniff.

yeah my eyes still pop out of my head when i see them, dont know what i would do if i saw one with a decent bodykit.

2 silver R35s in the space of an hour! one at the original harry cafe de wheels down in woollomoo and another heading to edgecliff at about 1426 today, plate '206' anyone know what that could mean? the plate not the co incidence. oh and a burgundy R32 gtst parked just after brookvale oval with plates MIX 32T, very clean. (last night a light coloured R34 gtst AWK 973 driving very slowly along parra road towards the city through annandale.

wise words terry, going through some terrible stuff right now and its the first time in 32 yrs of cruising through life relatively happy and without major drama that something has occured which let me glimpse the depths people can get to and actually understand why someone would do 'IT'. Ok. not enough to consider it an option but enough not to dismiss people out of hand when they do. doesnt mitigate the selfishness of the act you hit the nail on the head with it being about ending pain rather than existence per se, had some times in bootcamp which came close too but that was more the shock of being institutionalised for the first time and the stress that caused. can someone call me a Waaahmbulance as they say in the forces? is this getting a bit too deep for a car forum?

hmm interesting stuff RB thanks for the info. figured the police culture would be a little more robust re post trauma recovery, sounds a lot like the army. Did reserves for a while and the chaplain thing sounds familiar, always freaked me out how friendly and open they were compared to any of the corporals/officers etc. from what i have seen of that show 'recruits' goulburn looks a bit like boot camp 'lite' too, im guessing everyone comes out of it changed somewhat? anyway on the railways our post incident stuff is of course outsourced like everything else in Railcorp, a psychologist gives us a ring and tries to schedule an interview where we can 'vent' etc, and usually its a badge of honour to see how many days/weeks we can finangle out of them before we have to go back to work. The new longest time off sets a benchmark and then everyone aims to get the same the next chance we get. thats about as team spirity as we get oh and re the clenched fist of triumph everytime we take someone out? off the record? um probably but you didnt hear that from me :* ps i wasnt sure where i came up with the word finangle so googled it with surprising results. I stand by my use of the term nevertheless.. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Finangle

im a train guard and i my question was more if you get leave paid at rostered rates for a week or two after an incident where someone is injured or killed. we get up to 2 weeks at the rates we would have got if doing rostered working which attracts more penalties than just plain old sick pay, hence no one usually takes more than a fortnight off after a jumper has gone under their train. not an ambo but sometimes i have to give first aid and assist in emergencies but as soon as you guys turn up you take over...thank god.

yes i did in the context of depressing compare floods to suicides. very different things per se but in the end the effect is the same whether its an act of god or man, lives are destroyed and communities shattered. the story that got to me most was the little boy telling the rescuers to take his younger brother instead, or just as awful, the father who could only save his little boy while the rest of his family got washed away before his very eyes. Granted this is rare but still very sobering stuff, im not saying some old duffa flinging himself in front of the 8.15 to Newcastle deserves as much coverage but its still painful for the people he left behind. not sure what the rebuttals point is really just dont think the comparison is that outrageous in every respect. personally i dont have a lot of sympathy for jumpers and the few i have taken leave over were due to the fact at full rostered pay for a week..who wouldnt? do cops get as much time on full pay after an incident that they want or is it considered 'part of the job'?

"press a button that quickly pulls down some shutters," Bwa haha we wish, only shutters we have are flimsy little blinds that only come down half way, pretty useless when driving into the sun let alone trying to avoid the sight of bits of depressed emo teen all over the front of the train. Earlier story here about a body going through the window and into the compartment wall behind the driver is true by the way, driver got a few weeks off on full pay but avoided injury my millimeters. as for not hearing depressing stuff when u get home..have u ever watched the news? its full of depressing shit whether its floods, typhoons or kids messed with before we get to light relief like another ibrahim being shot at or kittens rescued from trees.

im a train guard so im getting a kick out of these replies and yay for old thread revival. can confirm its at least once a week for jumpers in front of trains, ive been on about four years and had 2 fatalities, 2 serious injuries and a craptonne of near misses including one guy who laid down in between the tracks and let the train go right over the top of him. got up, shook his head like he was disappointed he was still alive and wandered off. not sure why its not in the media more but the theories here sound about right.

is that a club day or just a random one? would do that, with my practice and your mods it might even out to be a tight contest, nothing like letting it off its leash to remind you why you really bought it

saw a really really nice clean white R33 GTR on my way to Dee why yesterday arvo, i was bombing along just about to drop down the hill towards the spit bridge and i think he was waiting to turn left but never caught up to me. i waved and flashed him with the brights, god i want a GTR.

a gtr with P plates...wtf? saw a maserati with L's on it the other day, looked like a dad/son combo, lucky little bugger. parked on king st today saw a nice if plasticky silver R34 'SB09AT', pretty OTT bodykit but clean enough. oh and porsche driver can we swap rides for a week? curious to see what its like on the dark side

alright enough trolling and flaming, leave jahn alone, he makes it far too easy to turn it into a shit fight otherwise. more 'cool story bro' stuff, how many of you guys have managed to talk ur way out of a ticket? or at least had the fine reduced a little on the spot with a bit of charm and a sparkle in the eye? i for one know about 3 or 4 chicks who have been flat out let off just for showing the right amount of cleavage and a winning smile. yet to see it in person but probably coz its only a girl on her own who would get away with it, wonder if its less likely these days now that all the stops are recorded with video/audio?
-
yeah welcome to the madhouse, let me know if ur ever going on a nasho run or cruise, will tag along. the R33 is a boat but it sure is a nice place to be right? btw urs is much tastier than mine, plan on taking it to the track?

yeah i dont think HWP are in it to make friends, if they were it would a pretty masochistic endeavor. they are at about the bottom of my list when it comes to generalising about random occupations i cant stand, unless their only job was to attend accidents and book drivers who hog overtaking lanes, they would move pretty quickly to the top then. (of course this is a sweeping generalisation, been pulled over by some nice enough blokes and of course with my new found maturity shouldnt even have to find out first hand if my pet hate is valid). @ rb25, being a mature law fearing driver is par for the course when ur an SAU member, we have a reputation to uphold right? still would be nice to know when u guys are out just for er, satisfying general curiosity..
-
Baiting I personally have never seen it, on duty or off... I don't know much about it. ahh ok good to know that if it goes on its at least quite rare. going by these forums you would think it happens every night. love hearing about the HWP mods or lack thereof, they will still catch most guys and u cant outrun a radio but at least u have a fighting chance on the right back road. . not that i would ever have the guts to try outside of on a playstation.. so mr soon to be HWP, any chance of giving us SAU folks a heads up on where ur going to be hiding once your on the road?

those are some amazing times, my bog standard boat has only managed a best of 1.16.00, im stoked if i will be able to drop that to low 114s next time but now i hear even that would be half arsed? kerr-ist. chucked a tein SS suspension in and a front mount but otherwise stock 96' model, been out there a few times, probably 5 or 6 in the 33 and last two were very wet. 1.10 is very quick and ive never seen an r33 achieve it while i was there unless in GTR guise..you sir are a driving god.

sat night on sussex st saw black blackity black as night R35 with plates BF* 36T driven by an asian guy who looked about 19 tops. SOOO JELLY! had some carbon inserts and sounded awesome..sniff, so want.
