  1. As it is the first registration in Victoria, they may require a vehicle sighting at a VicRoads office to make sure engine / chassis numbers are legit.

Since it's not a stock car, this could pose an issue for you.

Try it... if it does get inspected and they say no. It still has TAS rego... Get the parts to put it back to legal, and register it then.

Also f**k this hotel internet. uses a Mikrotik router of some sort... using a release from 2015 so it cant be that old... repeated speedtests says everything is fine, pulls decent speed, but every 10mins or so it just wont load webpages. I had a download running and it was stable at 200kbs, then spiked to 1000. all the while google would time out. Owner says the router cuts you off if you breach 500mb in an hour, but i can barely use it for 5mins without problems.

Sounds like there is Per User Shaping and quota...

If you're going through 500mb in 5 minutes, turn down the quality of the video until it all looks like japanese porn.

  3. Considering that most JDM cars he'd see come through the door are now track or drift nuggets, there's not a lot of margin for profit... Noone with a $10k car is going to be ok with a $1000 tune, he'd need to fight for that sale.

Someone with a $50k tuned audi isn't going to blink at that

  4. From what I've read you can fit up a 2300kg Hayman Reese HD Kit to the F6 just fine, Ford limit the rating to 1600kg because they didn't want to deal with warranty issues that could arise from people wanting to tow a 2300kg caravan around australia and still be covered by a new car warranty on something worth $75k.

Same gearbox, same towbar mounting points, better brakes, engine makes more power/torque... Suspension should be fine, there's plenty of travel in it standard... nothing near coilovers which I see people tow with *sigh* bloody Club FG

Will be fitting an external trans cooler to the ZF when I get the towbar fitted. For the very odd occasion that I do tow, I'm happy to take the risk... Can't really find any figures on GVM though :/

  5. Just called Famous, activated my new policy with them... Literally 5 minutes on the phone.
    $845 for $30k agreed, $650 excess

The cover note so I could drive it home was with RACV for $1,802.79 :4_joy: for $30k agreed, $750 excess... They even tried to show how much I was saving for being Rating 1, "$2,833.45 has already been deducted from your premium"

Called up RACV to cancel the policy afterwards and the girl was like "We can be pretty flexible on price to meet a competitor."... "You're about $1000 more expensive"... "Ok, we're not that flexible :| "

  6. Old docking stations used to clip into the back of the laptop like this https://www.mwave.com.au/product/dell-eport-ii-simple-port-replicatorfor-select-dell-latitude-notebooks-ab67293?gclid=CjwKEAjw5_vHBRCBtt2NqqCDjiESJABD5rCJ-tI2L7UDasl0Uxva2MHmj-nLrKxUVBH5ovyjocOs3xoC_Ofw_wcB

New ones normally connect using USB 3 or USB C and act more like a port replicator https://www.bbitonlineshop.com.au/products/dell-uhd-4k-usb-3-0-port-replicator-d3100-452-11714?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=26645680395

There's even some that function over High Speed Local Wireless between the Laptop and the Dock, even for things like 4K video... but they're flakey at best.

  7. Years / Experience / PD Hurdles

"Salary progressions are based on a yearly Performance Development Assessment as per the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016. This online database forms the basis for all Victoria Police VPS employees’ progression criteria and subsequent raise in increment levels." - http://www.policecareer.vic.gov.au/vps/what-we-offer-vps/salary-vps

Edit: Leesh pops her head in for 2 seconds and its straight back to unfair Teachers Salaries ;)

  8. Owned the car for 20 minutes means he was definitely giving it some stick, testing its 0-60 in 9 seconds flat claim... Most likely gave the officer some lip if he got a full book of vague defects thrown at him.

OT: I pretty much bought a car today, getting RWC on Friday and most likely Paying/Picking up on Saturday or Sunday

  9. Pretty sure you can't have anything that you could possibly hit your head on during a crash, thats why it needs to be registered as a 2 seater... I'd imagine that a full cage might also be an issue on modern airbag cars as they alter the way that the car is designed to crumple in an accident.

Cage + 1 inch thick padding foam would probably get you pulled over and done for restricted visibility even if it does get fully engineered as safe.
