Is there that much of a flow difference that you could notice the difference between a 100cell cat and a decat? I've looked inside a 100cell cat before and it just looks like a punch of mcdonnald's straws stuck together? I'm sure it would make some filtration difference but I don't think the difference would be huge. If I did do the decat and somebody confiscated it off me I will have a spare one anyway. I got defected last week when I wasn't doing anything wrong, If I was hooning I would understand but I don't feel like getting a road worthy again.

That's what I was planning to do with the stock cat. Probably should have exaplined it better. saw a white r33 gtst s2 with fmic, rims, exhaust and sau stickers on burwood hwy vermonth south around 4:30pm. I always see members when I leave my car at home.

Could do, but as it is a daily I need it to be at a bit lower volume than a straight pipe. The car is suprisingly quiet at the moment, must be due to having countless mufflers and a stock cat. Could use a few more db before I get in any trouble for it.

I know a decat is going to have more flow, but the highflow cat might have an advatage from having the bigger size? How about if I put some mesh inside the decat? would that still count as running no cat at all?

Feel free to flame if this has been made before, but I couldn't really find the answer I'm looking for. Which would provide better performance and/or sound out of a 3inch 100cell high flow cat or a 2.5inch decat? I can get my hands on a stock R33 GTS-T cat for free, which I believe is 2.5 inches and turn it into a decat, or I could spend some money on a 3 inch 100cell high flow cat. Which would you prefer? Almost forgot to mention I have a 3inch dump/down pipe and 3inch cat back, but a stock cat.

exhaust wasnt too loud, so no epa. Exhaust was too low, they sold it to me when it was 80mm off the ground, needed to be atleast 100mm. We worked something out so we are on okay terms now.

ive noticed heaps of cops on the road the past week or two. I got defected last week but now I'm armed with a valid rwc... invincible! Either way the skyline will probably stay at home for a while since there is no shortage of cars at my house and no point risking getting picked on by the man.

I withdraw my previous positive comments. I got defected for an exhaust that was already on the car when I bought it, so I asked them to fix it and write me another road worthy because they wrote a road worthy as it was. They wouldn't help me out.

I'm getting my new rwc as we speak. I took it back to japcar in fawkner since it passed road worthy already 6 months ago with the same mods.

You would have seen me but I was driving my sisters excel turning into the middle hotel. My car is chilling at home till the defect is cleared. How often do you do the steps? I'm going to get back into it next week

I'm clearing a major defect, so it requires a RWC to show to vicroads. I know the pod wasn't the real issue, it just showed that a cop can be handing out defects without really knowing anything about cars. I once tried to get a RWC from rapidtune when selling the car. They gave me a massive list of things that needed to be fixed. I showed that list and the car to our family mechanic (he wasn't able to write a RWC) and he pointed out to me the things they had mentioned. Seriously only about 3 out of the 10 things actually needed to be changed. I took it to another place to get the RWC and they did it for a fraction of the price that rapidtune wanted for it. Unfortunately this time I only have 7 days. More like 5 days now.

they are all fine, but from what I've known when you get a rwc, just about every time the require you to replace those type of items. My last car needed a new winscreen, wiper blades, 2 tyres and new shocks even though they were all less than 8 months old and/or passed road worthy 8 months ago.

I dont really feel like getting a new winscreen, wiper blades, tyres, etc even though i dont need them sigh

nobody answered my question that if when I get a road worthy do they just check the things I got defected for or do they go over the whole car?

just called him up and told him that the defect sticker fell off, I explained to him I looked at the vicroads hand book and it said the intake I had was fine. I explained I have exams all next week. I explained all I need to do is put the stock cat back exhaust on and I will pass the height requirement since the car isn't lowered. He said he didn't care.

he didnt take photos, I didnt know that another notice was coming. Also today I went out to the car and the defect sticker was sitting on my dash. Looks like it wasnt stuck on properly and just fell off.
