  1. It's 100mm. Basically the only part of your car that can be lower than 100mm is your rims and tyres (cause they have to touch the ground ). There is also a ruling on taking a messurement on how high your headlights are, which I don't know the full details on. Best checking in your State/Territory. J
  2. Benm - good to see you didn't have any problems with the Nats/cops etc. The last thing you want is to get defected while on holidays. Puts a real bummer on the trip. Craved - you may have got a defect on the battery cause you don't have a sealed battery. Because the R33's have their battery in the boot, the battery MUST be of the sealed type. This may why you've been told to put your current battery in a marine air tight box with a ventilation hose. Just change your battery to a sealed one and you'll be OK. I got a sealed big ass battery for $130 - not much more than you'd spend on a good marine box. J
  3. No load = not enough exhaust gas flow to spin the turbo fast enough to generate boost. Boost at idle (neutral) is great for hard launches, ie. launch control :headspin:
  4. If the MEC number on the ECU matches that on the outside of the ECU then it would be stock. For the R33's it wouldn't be financially viable to re-chip it JUST to remove the 180km/h limit. Maybe they installed a speed cut defender and had it installed right up under the dash, way out of sight? Or maybe Nissan was feeling nice for a few months J
  5. sxygtst - good to see you yesterday. Damn your car is clean !! Makes me wanna get my front bar resprayed to fix where I 'found' a gutter J
  6. Is it the stock cooler or an after market one? If it's the stockie then ditch it and buy a second hand one. If it's a after market one then get some water in there, flush it both ways and hopefully that will get it all out J
  7. OK, it's up. Again - big thanks to RB25. http://home.iprimus.com.au/jayson77/din_gauges.pdf
  8. Guys, When I get home tonight I'll chuck the plans (in pdf format) up on the net that RB25 gave me and give you the link. It made it really easy. RB25 is happy for everyone to have the plans - what a great bloke Hold on to tonight and you can all have them To mount the gauges to the front panel I used the mounting hardware that came with the gauges. It was a U shaped metal bracket that screws onto the back of the gauges and pulls the gauge up tight to the mdf. You'll understand what I mean when you see RB25's plans when I get home tonight. J
  9. Ahhh, the pressure, the pressure... LOL One day I might start making the R32 ones, but at this stage I haven't got any plans too. J
  10. Cool - I might have to check out the Nismo leather ones Thanks J
  11. You've been looking at my knob !!! LOL - but yeah, I gotta upgrade from the stock knob soon. I was eyeing off a Nismo titamium :aroused:
  12. Chicks dig Skylines
  13. Big thanks go to RB25 for his plans Used a piece of 10mm mdf for the front and a piece of 3mm mdf for the bottom which mounts to the front and then to the stereo bracket things. Yepp, gauges are 52mm VDO gauges, then covered with a piece of left over black leather to match in with the custom leather gearstick and handbrake boots that I make up. J
  14. I saw RH9 out in Manuka last night - I almost creamed my pants !
  15. Give it a go at making your own. I'm happy with how mine turned out.
  16. Don't bother pumping the brakes, just hold the pedal down for at least 30 seconds. What it does is closes the circuit to the brake lights, the lights will then suck all the remaining power out of the car, eg. all the power out of the capasitors etc... So once the power is sucked out of all the capasitors in the ECU it will loose it's memory. J
  17. Ahhh, it's just Sydney chicks
  18. Yeah, we're an easy going bunch Come on guys, anyone in Cairns gunna convert this guy to a Skyline freak??
  19. If your ever in Canberra I'll be happy to take you for a spin But Canberra is about 5hrs from Newcastle J
  20. Resetting has smoothed out things for me a few times. After I've reconnected the battery I let the ECU learn things differently to other people do. I start the car and let it idle for 5-10 mintues. First off it's a little high and sometimes it hunts a little. After a while it learns the idle and is perfectly smooth. Then I'll turn the air con on and let it idle for about 5-10 mintues, again it hunts for a while then it's perfect. Then again with the air con on AND the rear demister on etc... Then instead of taking it out and reving the crap out of it I just drive normal. Works a treat for me. J
  21. My gf (now x) used to hate it cause everywhere we went girls would come over to look at the car and sometimes have a chat. Even driving past other people she would see them turn and watch us go by. She hated it But seems she's my X now, I really didn't give a flying f&%k
  22. Anybody?? Anyone know where the boost correction table is in the PFC handcotroller? and maybe what it's called (what's the menu for it is called) ? Thanks J
  23. LOL - have to try that one !! Failing THAT, disconnect the hose from the squirty thing and see if the blockage is in the hose or in the squirty thing. You could have a kinked hose. J
  24. What happend out there last (Friday) night ?? Didn't manage to get out there, but should be there tonight. J
