No, the crystal red is a semi clear over silver base. I have some 2 pack top clear and that would be great but might not like the heat. The metalcast is heat resistant and brake dust doesn't stick so stay crystal red. You can get purple and some other hideous colour but the red is good for me.

No need to be formal here. Geoff is just fine I get mine from Supercheap. Used a wire wheel on the brakes after a full brakekleen, then masked and used the silver base coat, then the crystal red top coat for a similar finish to this

Don't waste money on VHT. Looks crap after a few heat cycles on the track on my racecar, although that was a nice job on those above. Go with the Duplicolor Metalcast. Looks too sweet. I've used it on the cam and front cover of the RB26 and the Sumitotmo calipers on one of my GTSt's and it is wonderful.

Exactly. As mentioned earlier, if you are doing the limit how can you have an accident. The message is all wrong.

Al, this is something that I have quantified for the RoadSense group. The amount of time it takes, with rigid speed enforcement of 3kmh tolerance, to glance down and check the speedo, determine that it is correct (not just "about right") and get eyes up again and recognize a dangerous situation requiring braking you might as well have been doing 70kmh and looking ahead in the 40 zone. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that science or human factors engineering works for the politicians, police or their sycophant lying lap dogs at Monash. Understand I don't want higher speed limits, just less rigid enforcement so I can watch the road, not my speedo. I can't tell you how many kids have been saved by me looking ahead and reading the conditions rather than watching my speedo. A ball bouncing in the wrong direction, a head momentarily bobbing through a car window, these are enough for me to react and be prepared to stop, but I can't do that and commit intense concentration to my speedo.

I had almost no toys. Progressed from an 1890 circa single shot Winchester .22 to a .303-25 to a full bore .303 and .243. I then Joined the Army so it was bigger rifles, grenades, explosives, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, machine guns, Leopard tanks and guided missiles. Oh at 14 I got a 4 cyl Torana as a paddock basher. Loved sliding that on the dirt.

I'll come along for a chat, pending scheduling of next round of back surgery. -
Attitude is the hardest thing to teach. I spent several years doubling as a heavy vehicle and off road driving instructor. And you're the one who said Well the speed limit is there for all seasons but exercising the brain is still mandatory and people still screw up. I've been crunched 5 times by other drivers and never once caused or had an accident that was my fault, except those I've had over 20 odd years of rallying and racing cars but 10/10ths means you will eventually screw up. Sorry dude but I'm just picking on you for making one idiotic statement that I constantly get from soccer mum bimbos who haven't exercised a brain cell since year 4. Driving at the limit doesn't mean you will be safe, but there are people who think that.

It's not the high powered car, it's the bulletproof dickhead behind the wheel trying to impress everyone. Unfortunately the more power, and the less experience algorithm means the easier for said dickhead to demolish himself and innocent lives. My answer? Driving ed in schools over 2 years, and if you don't get your license at school then you should pay for equivalent and extensive training yourself to the tune of $2-3K. As for the speed limit question. That is the most ill informed noob question ever asked. The speed limit doesn't cover all weather and traffic conditions and unfortunately with the bare minimum experience expected of our young drivers they will continue to kill themselves. More people die falling from ladders than on the roads. Don't see that in the news everytime someone has a fall.

R33 Gtr Or Race Type Seats Into Series 2 R33 Gts-t ?
GTRgeoff replied to Chris Wilson's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
A search would reveal all R32/33/34 coupes except the R34GTt are compatible. I have Recaros in my GTR and the rails are excellent. A bit pricey but it's not the factory junk so actually paying for quality. Yes I am talking about GTR seats as well. -

Have we still got a club discount with them Al? Time for a set for the R. -
Just go with Gates. Under $100 at my local Autobarn and good enough for my GTR.

BTW Snowy you might find it's only against the law where there are no trailer brakes fitted which all car trailers I've used have, usually a brake overide system but they need a little adjustment to get right. How else do people tow their really large boats/operate primes with a tri-axle trailer. What stuns me is there is no special license to use a trailer. You have car license so you are automatically good to tow??? And the govt says they are getting tough on road safety. BS!! We have people who can't parallel park that can legally tow (and one would assume reverse and restrain a load correctly IAW state and federal requirements) with no extra training.
-
Sorry to hear of the accident and injury Neil. Hope all is well soon I have several hundred thousand kays towing weird loads doing heavy recovery and repair for Army. When you put a car (or any sprung load) on a trailer you are more prone to the trailer getting the wobbles and tank slapping. One of the biggest problems is the silly over tyre retainers that people use. They are so common now but really are just scary. One of the problems we had where I got to test and quantify the failures and solutions was where I ran the Army trials on the ASLAV 8WD fighting vehicle transport solution and aside from putting wooden blocks underneath and chaining down onto them the next best was to pull the vehicle down hard on the suspension. Unfortunately someone a whole lot smarter (ie. has more rank) decided to change to tyre straps and driver constantly complain about the instability so it's a matter of time before another serious fallover. The same is true for cars, buses, trucks, I've even had a triple trailer road train hooked up behind the 286hp Mack Wrecker (massive 11 litre 6 cyl engine with huge turbo so small peak power but wicked torque into a 5 speed crash box). All vehicles move around on their suspension causing the trailer to move in an unpredictable way. A tyre down on pressure can be a cow as well. What Snowy said about the brake is a good temporary cure. Set the brake a little tighter on the actuator and it keeps the trailer pulled in behind, especially down hills where it wants to overtake but wears the brakes out. If it's a rental who cares but you do want brakes for when you have to stop. Braking slightly is usually the best method but is a bit hard with rentals as they rely on the pressure in the piston to start to slow. If you have a trailer remote brake overide then use that to pull the trailer in behind until you can pull over and fix properly. Ultimately properly restrained to the trailer is the only real solution. As for Fords being crap, I've owned several and still have one in the driveway I use for towing the 6x4 and have no problems with them. Also I don't recall a GTS4 owner ever beating me in any event on the track or DECA, so does that mean they are crap drivers and have to hide behind AWD to cover their faults????

BTW, get fines and move to Qld so they would have to track you down if they wanted their ill gotten loot. :PBJ:
-
YEAH!! I so wanted to do that!!!! An old friend is a councillor in a neighbouring city and when Melbourne took over the Southbank region they were short $6M in revenue from rates. Instead of increasing rates slightly they upped the parking rates massively and sent in the parking inspectors to fill the gap.
-
Not unsurprisingly I was fined for overstaying a park. Had a severe deterioration of the back injury, took 20min to walk 150m and the pricks watched me hobbling across the street then gave the fine just as I arrived. I asked for consideration in writing and was told I should have planned my day better. Who the f*ck plans for becoming severely crippled during their day??? Letters won't help so go directly to the media.

Will you take 250 shipped for the dumps? Cheers
