  1. Hello, I'm soon to get a tune and i need to decide whether to replace my current fuel pump. Currently it is a Tomei one (276l/m i think) paired with 1000c injectors and stock fuel pressure. I have already done the direct voltage modification. My hopefull power goal will be 310-330rwkw on e85. At the moment the current tomei pump makes an extremelly loud buzzing noise when hot or low fuel and after reading some things im sure it means the pump is on the way out (always ran on low fuel). Noise isnt grinding but like electrical buzz coming from fuel pump area like a transformer box sound. I havent noticed any fuel cuts or performance issues. Question is would this pump be suitable for the power i want to make on e85, secondly is it recommended to replace the fuel pump when it makes a loud buzzing noise (intermittent) and thirdly what are my pump options (intank only). I have read about the bosch 044 which flows less than the tomei so that is out of the question. Then there are some Walbros but i read the latest *e85* 460l/m one has some issues with priming when the fuel is below the pump level (read on this forum). Please kindly assist and if someone can recommend a pump (budget of <300$) then please advise me where to get it from via here or PM. Thanks
  2. Wait bro are you on the ATO contract ? I think i can see you on MOC PM me your last name
  3. Yeah that was with long bar/gradual torque method on seized bolts , but with hammer method i havent had one ruined bolt/nut and 100% success rate even on most seized bolts Still drive the corolla by the way R34 went in for tune in syd but some issues arose with exhaust leaks and wastegate fouling (stupid split dump pipe) but i fixed everything, all mods ready for the e85 tune. Hows yours white r33 or did you get rid of it ?
  4. Have you tried using quality ring spanner and then bashing it with a hammer. Once i tried jumping on a nut with long bar and snapped sockets, then inserted a ring spanner and bashed with those short fat 1 piece hammers and it came off smoothly. Just hold the bolt end with your hand to keep tension on the spanner. I now use this technique to get everything off works so well, and if hammer unavailable use the bottom of your fist.
  5. I did this rewire on my GTT, worked okay the fuel pump much louder, weird was it was only sometimes louder like it switches on more at times. Problem is now it sounds like a powerstation, makes the loudest buzzing noise! What could that be ? It works fine still pumps fuel at boost. Thanks
  6. Yeah sounds like it may be that, i never had this issue before till the nistune! Thanks guys:)
  7. G'day, Car is R34 GTT Manual with nistune, been tuned and runs perfectly/idles well. The car doesnt ever stall itself but if i accidentally stall it (new clutch ) then when i try start it again it takes a good while to start, just splutters, black smoke comes out of the exhaust, meaning the fuel system is fine, but it doesnt start up. I switch it on and off a few times then try to restart but it just cranks and chucks out black smoke. After a few tries it finally does start but barely but once its started there is no idle issue, or anything. Please assist guys Thanks
  8. Thankyou i will check them out.
  9. Hi, Wondering if you canberra people know where to purchase Motul gearbox/diff oils and the GW 6000 one i can only find the synx3000. If you can point me in the direction where to get it cheap or find it at all would be appreciative. Thankyou
  10. I have my wideband in its place at the moment, so its not connected at all or screwed inside the dump. I prefer to keep the wideband so i can monitor AFRs on the way there, also just read that i can solder some wires to the ecu to simulatre narrowband signal . Its MTXL Innovate one. Or since the AFRs are okay i can just plug in the narrowband so cruise is okay and hope not issues.
  11. Thanks guys Toe in is perfect and ride height should be okay although probably not straight (measured by eye) Just need to straighten up the right rear wheel its got too much negative camber compared to my left, and thus sits in the gaurd too much and inside of tire gets used up quickly
  12. Hey guys yeah you were right thanks jacked the latency to 1030. Now its idling perfect at ~ 14.7 AFR and rest of the rev range looks good. Might read a bit more instructions next time There wont be any damages having 20AFR on idle ? Also not having narrowband plugged in is also okay on a 350km trip ?
  13. Also i have the narrowband disconnected is there an option to not use it
  14. Injectors are the same brand/type just bigger flow. Would it have something to do with the injector latency ?
  15. Hi, I have just upgraded injectors (nothing rly else that would affect anything) on my R34 GTT. I have nistune and so i changed the k constant by going through the injector resize option and changed from 725cc to 1000cc. This brought the k constant down from like 394 to 285. Problem is my air fuel gauge shows about 20 on the gauge and it runs pretty choppy. If i move the k constant up closer back to 394 originally the AFRs drop down back to closer to 14.7. But if i rev it just a tiny bit it jumps up again. Any suggestion would be appreciative! Just trying to get the car able to be moved to the tuners 350km away. It already had an existing tune and ran no problem. Thanks
  16. I heard this year starting december Caltex are going to actually bring in summer blend of 80-85% ethanol and that the winter blend is consistant at around 70% ethanol. Apparently the difference in power between e70 and e85 is minimal like 15rwkw max when ranging in the 300's. Also the 85% ethanol will use more fuels than the 70% with minimal gains.
  17. Hi, I read somewhere here before some members worked for wheel alignment / suspension shops (i think it was capital steering ?). Would like to know need to get my rear wheels aligned (camber adjusted tiny bit as the left wheel is different to right). Thanks
  18. Hello, If anyone has a spare reverse light (left hand side) with no cracks or chips i will make purchase off you. Also if someone has the GTR style ones that are red/white ill take both for a reasonable price. Thanks,
  19. Thanks just gave them a call they don't do print outs but you can see tell if they flow correctly and the flow pattern etc so i might come in tomorrow have a look.
  20. Thanks I bought some 1000cc ones with Bosch Core, but with no flow sheet all i can go by is the nozzle shape. The seller tells me its FIC (Fuel injector clinic) but the markings and nozzle suggest its a fiveomotorsport injector. Both are fine i just want to make sure there is no discrepancy between the six as he claims <2% variance as they have been flow matched. Not really bothered about the idle as i read that thats where they will vary the most, just when they are completely opened. Then i got about 15days between my exam and installing half my engine before the tune in sydney!
  21. Hi, Does anyone recommend a reasonably priced injector flow testing (not cleaning) here in Canberra ? Thanks
  22. It was just the banjo bolt! Studs were the biggest kent ever i will never reuse a stock manifold again (although looks very stock). Ended up spending another like 4000$ fixing everything possible, was just going to be to take the turbo off and now i have nothing in the engine bay but the engine block and head! Any ideas on who can look after the clutch, my last choices are some holden mechanic dude or garage floor and jackstands. Thanks
  23. Thankyou, but i reckon i would buy tuners license and adjust some injector settings and hope i dont blow anything up
