  1. To increase your boost holding capacity (ie. keep the waste gate clamped shut) and the stability and consistency of the pressure you cant go past a reputable electronic boost controller. Cheaper options are Bleed tap type valves but they dont have any reactive capacity to overboost or boost spiking, which in the long run may prove painful. Check out aussie turbosmart boost tee, I think their around $60 new. There are heaps of other options too. Dont forget to put a smear of lube (sick minds need not comment) on the thread of your plugs for easier removal next time.
  2. Harmless place to bring my post tally up to ten! now i can reply to a PM Or not as it appears it hasn't worked!
  3. MAG86 you were warned, but besides the brakes you should find it a good resource of parts. Speaking of parts, I used to know where to get them from the wreckers in Canberra and QBN but lately they all seem to have been scrapped. Good luck with the works, maybe catch you at JDM fest on saturday. Ill keep an eye out for any other DR30's that might be up for sale.
  4. We're at both Mitchell and Dickson, if you want DA advise come to Dickson (we're opposite the motor registry, in the south building). Mitchell might be able to help you out, they're at 8 Darling Street (close to the corner of flemington and sandford). No need for an appointment, unless there are some contentious issues.
  5. I shouldn't draw for you, as i work in Development Assessment (DA) at ACTPLA (it would be a conflict), but I'll happily discuss with you the in and outs or the system to give you the best chance of a nice smooth process. Drop me a line at work on the customer service number 6207 9123 and ask to speak to Adam, I can email you a heap of info but that doesn't really help. Have you got a quick sketch of what you want and where on your block?
  6. ACTPLA has no requirement that your plans are drawn by a 'suitably' qualified person only that their good and legable and include all the relevant info and are drawn to scale. Donnan can draw them and his experience eclipses my own. Have you looked into the Development Assessment Requirements? And whether your application even needs assessing at ACTPLA or possible be seen by a private certifier? Can provide more info if you like?
  7. All, My DR30 is sold as of today it has become someones new parts pony. It was a most interesting drive to their house as whilst the car has sat for a while the brakes have f*@ked themselves... 80 to 0 braking distances = still calculating. lol
  8. Just a note on the Landcruisers especially those with steps and bull bars, mostly they are operated by the AFP not ACT policing. They are primary tactical response cars and VIP escorts full of bad mo fo's with MP5's M4's and body armour... spose that makes them even more appealling to avoid. I was 'random' (joke) breath tested the other evening by a black mitsu Colt working with a black falcon, out of the tuggeranong station, both unmarked. The bugger in the colt followed me from the jerra round-a-bout along the monaro, up long gully road (where i dropped my speed to 65-70 to make him overtake me) and out onto yamba, where he pulled me up and radio-ed the falcon for the breathaliser. Apparently some of the commodore utes have strange looking alluminium roll bars which try to cunningly disguise the flashies.

  10. Hi all The Adam mentioned above is me, and I am looking to sell the old R30 Ti. I have been speaking with MAG86 about the possibility of a transaction and he's shown some interest. The car was loaned to an employee of my mothers for a period of timje and has some mechanical issues, as a result of his lack of care. IMO the car is past the point of cost effective repair as some bigger dollar items are needed, like new rear struts, 4 tyres, new right rear door quarter pane, new rear pads and a full bleed, handbrake cables are sticky due to worn dust caps (these can be freed by soaking in kerosene or diesel and then lubricting well with a penetrating lubricatant or adhesive grease). the car has few other issues, that Im happy to disclose, but has many good parts to donate to other better condition vehicles. I will not be parting out the vehicle myself, and if by chance i do feel inclined, i would only go as far as a rolling shell so its easy to get to the wreckers. Regards
  11. Hi all just thought i should introduce myself as a new member. I've owned an '85 DR30 Ti since '03 and then in '04 bought an Alfa Romeo GTV 2L (which is a beast, to spite you all!). My collection has grown last year to include an '87 R31 Silo (which often needs mending) and most recently this year from Toyota an '94 MR2 GT. Im a Canberra local and know a bunch of the ACT members already.
